"Penelitian ini membahas mengenai representasi Indonesia menurut karya lagu para artis, yaitu Wieteke Van Dort, Anneke Gronloh, dan grup band Rosy & Andres (Rosy Pereira dan Dries Holten) yang merupakan artis keturunan Indo-Belanda dan lahir di era 1930-1945. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan akan menganalisis pemaknaan secara detonasi dan konotasi dari lirik lagu tersebut berdasarkan teori semiotika yang dikemukakan oleh Roland Barthes. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan pemaparan tentang Indonesia di mata penyanyi Indo-Belanda yang pernah tinggal di awal kemerdekaan Belanda dan kini menetap di Belanda. Dalam penelitian ini makna yang terdapat pada lagu ketiga artis dianalisis secara komparatif dan asosiatif untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang Indonesia. Lirik lagu yang dianalisis merupakan lima lagu yang mengandung asosiasi denganIndonesia baik secara indera maupun nilai-nilai emosional. Dapat disimpulkan dari analisa bahwa Indonesia digambarkan positif oleh semua artis dan direpresentasikan dalam lagu mereka lewat kata-kata atau frasa yang berasosiasi dengan kekayaan budaya, keindahan alam, sifat karakter bangsa atau pesona masyarakatnya dan hasil budayanya.

This study discusses the representation of Indonesia according to the songs of the artists, namely Wieteke Van Dort, Anneke Gronloh, and the band Rosy & Andres (Rosy Pereira and Dries Holten) who are artists of Indo-Dutch descent and born in the 1930-1945 era. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis method and will analyze the denotation and connotation of the meaning of the song lyrics based on the semiotic theory proposed by Roland Barthes. The purpose of this study is to get an explanation of Indonesia in the eyes of Indo-Dutch singers who lived in the early days of Dutch independence and now live in the Netherlands. In this study, the meanings contained in the songs of the three artists were analyzed comparatively and associatively to get an overview of Indonesia. The song lyrics analyzed are five songs that contain associations with Indonesia, both sensory, and additional values. It can be concluded from the analysis that Indonesia is described positively by all artists and is represented in their songs through words or phrases associated with cultural richness, natural beauty, the character of the nation, or the charm of its people and cultural products."

"Penelitian ini membahas mengenai gaya bahasa dari lirik empat lagu berbahasa Belanda terpopuler Wieteke van Dort versi Spotify beserta keterkaitannya dengan identitas Indo. Wieteke van Dort adalah artis berdarah Belanda yang lahir dan pernah tinggal di Indonesia (dahulu kala masih Hindia Belanda). Wieteke van Dort adalah penyanyi Belanda yang lahir dan besar di Hindia Belanda. Fokus penelitian ini terletak pada jenis-jenis gaya bahasa dalam lagu-lagu tersebut dan korelasinya dengan identitas Indo sesuai dengan teori identitas Stuart Hall. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang analisisnya disesuaikan dengan teori gaya bahasa Braet untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis gaya bahasa dan teori identitas menurut Hall untuk menjelaskan dinamika identitas van Dort. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan jenis gaya bahasa serta keterkaitannya dengan identitas Indo dalam lirik empat lagu-lagu Wieteke van Dort. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah jenis gaya bahasa yang ada banyak mengandung kesan mengenai kenangan dan keindahan Hindia Belanda dan membandingkannya dengan Belanda. Jenis gaya bahasa pada lagu-lagu tersebut mengungkap identitas Indo dari sudut pandang Wieteke van Dort, terutama bagaimana van Dort merangkul identitasnya sebagai seorang Indo setelah ia pindah ke Belanda.

This paper explains the figure of speech in four most popular songs in Dutch by Wieteke van Dort according to her Spotify page and its correlation with her identity as an Indo. Wieteke van Dort is a Dutch singer born and grew up in Indonesia (it was Dutch Indies back then). The focus of this paper lies on the types of figure of speech in said songs and their correlations with the Indo identity that van Dort holds according to Stuart Hall’s theory of identity. The methodology used in this paper is qualitative-descriptive which analysis is based on Antoine Braet’s figure of speech theory to identify the styles used in the songs and the identity theory from Hall to describe the dynamics of van Dort’s identity of being an Indo. The results of this paper is that the types of figure of speech used in the song lyrics sung by Wieteke van Dort emphasize more in the memories and the beauty of Dutch Indies and compare them to the conditions in the Netherlands. These figures of speech lead to exposing how van Dort embraces her identity as explained by Hall, especially after she moved to the Netherlands."

"Film ziarah menceritakan perjalanan hidup tokoh utama, Mbah Sri, yang berjuang demi mencari fakta mengenai sang suami yang dinyatakan gugur di medan perang pada saat agrasi militer II. Masalah utama dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana representasi perjuangan dan kesetiaan yang dilakukan oleh tokoh utama dalam film Ziarah (2017). Penelitian ini bertujuan membuktikan serta merepresentasikan perjuangan dan kesetiaan dari tokoh utama melalui bukti visual. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa, perjuangan dan kesetiaan dapat ditinjau melalui beberapa aspek. Perjuangan yang terdiri dari lima aspek, yaitu rela berkorban, persatuan, harga-menghargai, semangat dan pantang menyerah, dan kerja sama. Adapun kesetiaan yang terdiri dari tiga aspek, yaitu keteguhan hati, ketaatan dan kepatuhan. Aspek tersebut ditinjau melalui scene, sequence, dan dialog Mbah Sri melalui sikap, tindakan, dan juga tingkah laku. Tidak hanya itu, penelitian ini juga menyandingkan perjuangan dan kesetiaan dengan sikap orang Jawa yaitu sikap nrima. Dengan adanya penulisan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mudah serta lebih dalam mengenai nilai-nilai budaya Jawa yang tercermin melalui sikap, tindakan dan perilaku mengenai perjuangan, kesetiaan, dan sikap nrima.

The film pilgrimage tells the life journey of the main character, Mbah Sri, who struggles to find facts about her husband who was declared dead on the battlefield during military aggression II. The main problem in this study is how the struggle and loyalty are represented by the main character in the film Ziarah (2017). This study aims to prove and represent the struggle and loyalty of the main character through visual evidence. In this study, the authors used a qualitative research method with Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic approach. The results of the study reveal that struggle and loyalty can be viewed through several aspects. The struggle consists of five aspects, namely willingness to sacrifice, unity, respect, enthusiasm and never give up, and cooperation. As for loyalty which consists of three aspects, namely determination, obedience and obedience. These aspects are reviewed through scenes, sequences, and Mbah Sri's dialogue through attitudes, actions, and also behavior. Not only that, this research also juxtaposes struggle and loyalty with Javanese attitudes, namely nrima. With this writing, it is hoped that it can provide an easier and deeper understanding of Javanese cultural values ​​which are reflected through attitudes, actions and behavior regarding struggle, loyalty, and acceptance."

"Representasi simulasi dalam arsitektur merupakan fenomena ketika sebuah karakteristik inti dari sebuah objek original dikomunikasikan kembali dalam sebuah bentuk simulasi yang baru. Kedua objek tersebut menghasilkan pengalaman yang serupa ketika dialami. Hal ini terjadi karena sebuah simulasi merepresentasikan image dari sebuah arsitektur original melalui ekspresi elemen-elemen yang hadir sehingga memicu sebuah mental image dari arsitektur original. Untuk memahami proses interpretasi mental image dalam sebuah representasi-simulasi, skripsi ini akan menjelaskan proses dari fenomena simulasi melalui pendekatan semiotika terhadap kode semantik dengan studi kasus pada game Genshin Impact. Dengan menganalisis arsitektur original dan simulasi sebagai sebuah sistem tanda-tanda, dapat dilihat susunan elemen dari arsitektur yang membentuk sebuah struktur yang signifikan. Proses ini melihat kedua arsitektur sebagai teks yang akan dibongkar melalui unit, hubungan antar unit, dan latar belakang sosio-kultural untuk menemukan ide formal. Ide formal mengandung struktur formal dan ide-ide penting bagi arsitektur untuk membentuk sebuah mental image tertentu. Dalam pembuatan sebuah simulasi, perlu mempertahankan mental image dari original dengan membawa ide formal tersebut.

Simulation representation in architecture is a phenomenon that occurs when the main characteristics of an original object is recommunicated in a new form of a simulation. Although the simulation is an object with its own individuality, there is a cognitive process in the brain that equates the experience of the original architecture and the simulation. This happens because a simulation represents the image of an original architecture through the expression of the elements that are present, thereby triggering a mental image interpretation of the original architecture. To understand the process of interpreting mental images in a simulation-representation, this thesis will explain the process of simulation phenomena through a semiotic approach to semantic codes with a case study on the game Genshin Impact. By analyzing the original architecture and the simulation as a system of signs, it can be seen that both architectures are composed of individual elements that are arranged in a certain way to form a significant structure. This process sees both architectures as texts that will be disassembled through units, relationships between units, and socio-cultural backgrounds to find formal ideas. Formal ideas contain formal structures and important ideas for the architecture to form a certain mental image. In the creation of a simulation, one needs to maintain the mental image of the original by still presenting the original’s formal idea."

"Tesis ini membahas mengenai representasi modernitas dari Stasiun Jakarta Kota dan Stasiun Sudirman pasca diberlakukannya sistem e-ticketing dan perbaikan infrastruktur stasiun pada tahun 2013. E-ticketing dan perbaikan infrastruktur merepresentasikan pengembangan layanan perkeretaapian Jakarta. This thesis discusses about the representation of modernity in Jakarta Kota Station and Sudirman Station as a result of e-ticketing system implementation and the improvement of its infrastructure since 2013. E-ticketing system and the improvement of station infrastructure represents the modernization Jakarta's public transportation. The result of this research shows that the transformation of the station, which is supported by technology and infrastructure, could restore the real function of the station as well as changing the culture and the construction meaning of the station."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan representasi perselingkuhan dalam drama serial Fishbowl Wives (2022) serta implikasinya terhadap stereotipe alasan perselingkuhan berdasarkan gender dengan menggunakan teori representasi oleh Stuart Hall (1997) sebagai kerangka berpikir. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan pertanyaan kuesioner dari Infidelity Questionnaire (INFQ), metode analisis teks dan metode interpretasi komposisi visual sebagai metode analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Fishbowl Wives memperkuat stereotip dikotomi gender bahwa perempuan melakukan perselingkuhan karena alasan emosional, sedangkan laki-laki karena alasan kepuasan seksual tetapi di saat yang bersamaan menampilkan pula kerumitan yang berlapis di balik alasan tersebut.

This study aims to reveal the representation of infidelity in the Fishbowl Wives (2022) drama series and its implications for the gender stereotype behind the reasons for infidelity by using representation theory by Stuart Hall (1997) as the theoretical framework. This study utilizes questionnaires from the Infidelity Questionnaire (INFQ), text analysis methods, and visual composition interpretation methods as analytical tools. The results show that Fishbowl Wives reinforces the gender stereotype that women commit adultery for emotional reasons, while men for sexual satisfaction but at the same time show the complexity behind these reasons."

"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas mengenai representasi perpustakaan umum sebagai ruang public yang terdapat dalam novel Dewey: Kucing Perpustakaan Kota Kecil yang Bikin Dunia Jatuh Hati. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode semiotic Roland Barthes yaitu mencakup analisis sintagmatik dan paradigmatik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Perpustakaan Umum Spencer di dalam novel Dewey representasikan perpustakaan umum sebagai ruang publik dapat dilihat dari 21 fungsi utama yang menyatakan mengenai ruang publik. Selain itu, representasi perpustakaan umum juga dapat dilihat dari empat kualitas untuk menjadi ruang publik yang sukses yaitu yang mudah diakses, orang yang terlibat dalam kegiatan Perpustakaan, nyaman dan memiliki citra baik, dan merupakan tempat yang ramah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa perpustakaan tidak seharusnya hanya menjadi gudang buku yang dianggap suram. Perpustakaan Umum sebagai ruang publik dapat digunakan untuk bersantai dengan keluarga dan dapat dikunjungi oleh siapapun karena tempat ini mudah diakses dari berbagai kalangan tanpa memandang latar belakang dari sosial maupun ekonomi. Layanan dewey yang disediakan oleh Perpustakaan Umum spencer menjadi salah satu faktor pendukung terciptanya perpustakaan umum sebagai ruang publik.

ABSTRACTThis undergraduated thesis explain the representation of the public library as a public space that exists in novel with title Dewey the small town Library Cat Who Touched the World. This undergraduated thesis uses qualitative approach and semiotics method by Roland Barthes includes the analysis of syntagmatic and paradigmatic. The results of this study suggest that public libraries in the novel Spencer Dewey represent public libraries as public space seen from 21 main function that states about public spaces. In addition, the representation of the public library as a public space can be seen from the four quality to became a successful public space that is easy accessible, persons involved in library activities, comfortable and have a good image, and it is a friendly place. The conclusion from this study is that public library should not just be a library warehouse of books deemed dismal. The dewey service provided by the spencer s public library become one of the supporting factors for the creation of public libraries as public spaces. Public library as a public space can be used to relax with family and can be visited by anyone because the place is easily accessible from many quarters without looking at the background from social as well as the economy. "

"ABSTRAKArtikel ini merupakan penelitian mengenai makna api yang terdapat dalam film Incendies karya Denise Villeneuve 2010 . Kajian kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk melihat representasi api dalam film melalui alur, penokohan, maupun aspek sinematografis. Adapun penelitian ini mengguanakan teori Boggs dan Petrie 2008 mengenai pengkajian aspek naratif untuk menganalisis pengaluran dan penokohan, serta teori Truffaut 1954 dari sudut pandang sinematografis untuk menganalisis pengambilan objek dalam frame, penggunaan efek parole, penggunaan sudut pandang kamera, shot, gerak kamera, teknik penyuntingan, atau pencahayaan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa makna api yang terlihat disimpulkan melalui dominasi warna merah dan perkembangan konflik dalam alur yang mewakili tragedi dalam film.

ABSTRACTThe article is a study of the meaning of fire contained in the film Incendies by Denise Villeneuve 2010 . A qualitative study was used in this article to see the representation of fire through narrative and cinematographic aspects. The research uses Boggs and Petrie 39 s 2008 theory to identify components of narratives such as plot structure and characterization, as well as Truffaut 39 s 1954 cinematographic theory to analyze object retrieval in frames, use of parole effects, use of camera position, shot, editing technique, and even lighting. The results of the analysis show that the dominance of red color and the development of conflict within the series of events and actions represent tragedies as the meaning of fire in Incendies."
