"Untuk mengatasi kekurangan tenaga kerja di Jepang dan surplus tenaga kerja di Indonesia, 30 tahun lalu kedua negara mengembangkan program magang "Ginou Jisshu". Selama magang, peserta yang memiliki karakteristik individu berbasis budaya Indonesia terpapar dengan budaya kerja Jepang. Oleh karenanya dalam pelaksanaan program Ginou Jisshu diberikan Technical Internship Technical Program (TITP) yang mengajarkan bahasa dan budaya Jepang. Penelitian dilakukan untuk memahami bagaimana TITP meningkatkan kompetensi dan daya saing pesertanya. Tiga variabel eksternal digunakan, yakni karakteristik individu, budaya kerja Jepang dan pendidikan-pelatihan untuk dipahami pengaruhnya terhadap dua variabel internal, yakni kompetensi dan keunggulan bersaing individu. Peneliti juga menambahkan variabel moderasi self-efficacy. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab bagaimana pendidikan pelatihan TITP menciptakan kompetensi dan daya saing individu dalam rangka mendukung visi Indonesia Emas 2045. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan kuesioner Google Form yang dijawab oleh 400 alumni Ginou Jisshu di 38 provinsi di Indonesia. Data dianalisis menggunakan PLS-SEM. Dari 14 hipotesis parsial yang diajukan, lima hipotesis efek langsung diterima, dan dua hipotesis moderasi diterima, sementara dua hipotesis efek langsung ditolak, dan lima hipotesis moderasi ditolak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik individu tidak signifikan mempengaruhi kompetensi dan keunggulan kompetitif individu, dengan pengaruh negatif pada kompetensi dan positif pada keunggulan kompetitif. Budaya kerja Jepang berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kompetensi dan keunggulan kompetitif individu. Sementara pendidikan dan pelatihan berpengaruh positif signifikan pada kompetensi, namun negatif tidak signifikan pada keunggulan kompetitif. Kompetensi berpengaruh positif tapi tidak signifikan pada keunggulan kompetitif. Efikasi diri memoderasi karakteristik individu dan budaya kerja Jepang terhadap kompetensi, dan tidak mampu memoderasi pengaruh lainnya, namun semua moderasi yang ditemukan tidak signifikan. Solusi yang diberikan oleh penelitian untuk pengembangan TITP adalah rekomendasi penambahan materi kewirausahaan dan karakteristik individu dalam kurikulum TITP dalam jangka pendek dan jangka menengah, sedangkan untuk materi hard skill yang sesuai dengan sektor magang memang harus diberikan namun tentunya dengan bantuan dari pihak Jepang.

To overcome the labor shortage in Japan and the labor surplus in Indonesia, 30 years ago the two countries developed the "Ginou Jisshu" apprenticeship program. During the internship, participants who have individual characteristics based on Indonesian culture are exposed to Japanese work culture. Therefore, in implementing the Ginou Jisshu program, a Technical Internship Technical Program (TITP) is provided which teaches Japanese language and culture. Research was conducted to understand how TITP increases the competency and competitiveness of its participants. Three external variables are used, namely individual characteristics, Japanese work culture and education-training to understand their influence on two internal variables, namely competence and individual competitive advantage. Researchers also added the moderating variable self-efficacy. This research aims to answer how TITP training education creates individual competency and competitiveness in order to support the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045. This research used a quantitative approach with a Google Form questionnaire which was answered by 400 Ginou Jisshu alumni in 38 provinces in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM. Of the 14 partial hypotheses proposed, five direct effect hypotheses were accepted, and two moderation hypotheses were accepted, while two direct effect hypotheses were rejected, and five moderation hypotheses were rejected. The research results show that individual characteristics do not significantly influence individual competency and competitive advantage, with a negative influence on competency and a positive influence on competitive advantage. Japanese work culture has a significant positive effect on individual competency and competitive advantage. While education and training have a significant positive effect on competence, they have an insignificant negative effect on competitive advantage. Competence has a positive but not significant effect on competitive advantage. Self-efficacy moderates individual characteristics and Japanese work culture on competence, and is unable to moderate other influences, but all moderation found is not significant. The solution provided by research for the development of TITP is a recommendation to add entrepreneurship material and individual characteristics to the TITP curriculum in the short and medium term, while hard skills material that is appropriate to the internship sector must be provided, but of course with assistance from Japan."

"The competitiveness level among the companies tend to be higher, particularly since the adoption of several regional free trade areas such as Asean Free Trade Area (AFTA). Almost all the companies will face various impacts, both of negative and positive impacts.
Kitchenware industry is one of the fastest growing industries in Indonesia. This occurred since Indonesia was the fourth densely populated country. Kitchenware industry is a potential business, referring to market, because of the number of house holds. Data released by the Statistic Agency shows that there are 2.248.388 house holds around Jakarta in 2000 with annual growth rate 2,68% approximately.
PT Batin Eka Perkasa (PT BEP) is a company in the kitchenware industry. Since was set up 14 years ago, now it has 24 branches around Indonesia.PT BEP offering two kind of payments, cash and credit.
In a competitive industry, a company should prepare itself to face the potential attacks by competitors. PT BEP undertakes preparation by enhancing strategic formulation in order to match precisely to its vision, mission, goals, and objectives.
The data used in this research include both primary and secondary data. The primary data was collected by in-depth interview with 24 purposive respondents, while secondary data was collected by literary study such as journals, articles, news papers and other publication.
The data collected is discussed in a forum group discussion (FGD) by selected members from the respondents which have the same interests. This group will determine the priority of each factor of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, value the factors and give priority score of the urgency of these factors.
The model analysis used in this paper were Porter's environmental industry analysis such as Porter's five forces, key success factors and SWOT analysis.
By observing threats, opportunities, weaknesses, and strengths, the results of this research are:
1. The external opportunities of PT BEP are Indonesian economy 2003-2006 are prospective to support kitchenware industries; the large numbers of households; the adoption of AFTA will cut costs, the increase of materials suppliers, and the developing of information technology.
2. The external threats faced by PT BEP are the adoption of AFTA will let the new entrants come into the industry, the government policy to increase fuel prices, unstable political environment, the fast growing of new technology in kitchenware industry.
3. The internal strengths of PT BEP are various item of products, many branches, the widely line of distribution, the ability to set up new branches, the large number of sales forces, well sale forces management, relatively lower prices and after sales services.
4. The internal weaknesses of PT BEP are the ordinary qualities, high product return, manual information system, inefficient logistics system, high employee turnover and high bad debt collection.
5. Based on SWOT interaction results, the best strategy of PT BEP in the tight of competition is Strengths-Threats (S7) strategy which comprise both strengths side and threats side.
This research recommended management of PT BEP to adopt ST strategy and make more research in implementing the strategy into company's policy.

"Saat ini, banyak fashion brand yang menggunakan strategi fast fashion, di mana brand-brand tersebut merespons consumer demand melalui pergantian macam barang dagangan dengan cepat dan menjual produknya dengan harga yang terjangkau. Walau selama ini strategi fast fashion telah model ini telah membawa banyak keuntungan terhadap brand, meningkatnya minat konsumen pada keberlanjutan dapat mengganggu keamanan masa depan mereka.
Situasi ini telah mendorong perusahaan untuk mengakui pentingnya sustainability dan melibatkan aspek tersebut ke dalam strategi mereka. Namun, banyak fashion brand yang masih ragu untuk meninggalkan strategi fast fashion. Situasi ini disebabkan oleh kesulitan yang mereka alami dalam menjual produk sustainable. Hal ini dapat mengarah kepada pertanyaan penelitian: bagaimana sustainability mempengaruhi cara promosi dalam mempertahankan keunggulan kompetitif dalam industri fast fashion? Temuan dalam penelitian ini akan didasarkan pada Dynamic Capabilities dan Stakeholder-based Theory. Hasil dalam penelitian ini adalah co-creation dalam periklanan dan penggunaan konten interaktif di media sosial akan mengarahkan fashion brand kepada keunggulan kompetitif yang berkelanjutan.

Today, many fashion brands utilize the fast fashion strategy, where they respond quickly to customers’ everchanging demands, frequently changing their merchandise assortments, and selling their products in affordable price. While this model has been beneficial, the increasing consumers’ interest in sustainability may disturb the security of their future. This situation has prompted companies to acknowledge its importance and incorporate it into their strategy. However, many fashion brands are still hesitating to leave their fast fashion way. The situation is caused by their struggle in selling sustainable product. This leads to the research question: how does sustainability influence promotion in sustaining competitive advantage within the fast fashion industry? The findings in this study will be based on Dynamic Capabilities and Stakeholder-based Theory. The result in this study is co-creation in advertising and the use of interactive content in social media would lead to sustained competitive advantage. "

"Salah satu sifat alami dari perusahaan adalah untuk mengejar competitive advantage atas pesaingnya dalam sebuah industri. Namun bagaimanapun, untuk mencapai competitive advantage sangatlah sulit terutama karena persaingan yang kian ketat antar perusahaan. Kondisi ini mengharuskan seorang manajer perusahaan untuk menghasilkan cara baru untuk unggul dalam kompetisi. Oleh karena itu, tesis ini dibuat untuk menganjurkan perusahaan agar terlibat dalam aliansi strategis sebagai media untuk mendapatkan competitive advantage. Penelitian mengatakan bahwa aliansi strategis akan meningkatkan pasokan sumber daya dan saluran jaringan. Selain itu, aliansi strategis juga akan memfasilitasi peningkatan kompetensi inti perusahaan serta untuk belajar dan mengembangkan kemampuan strategis baru. Studi ini menganalisis manfaat yang perusahaan bisa dapatkan jika mereka terintegrasi dalam sebuah aliansi. Manfaat ini juga akan mengarah ke pencapaian competitive advantage. Selain itu, tesis ini juga menyelidiki bagaimana cara untuk membangun sebuah aliansi serta bagaimana cara untuk berhasil mengelola aliansi, karena tidak jarang aliansi menemui kegagalan selama beroperasi. Selain itu, tesis ini juga menghadirkan dua analisa kasus, yang akan menggambarkan konsep dan teori aliansi strategis untuk dunia bisnis yang nyata. Menggabungkan unsur-unsur tersebut, tesis ini berharap dapat mengungkap apa yang diperlukan bagi perusahaan untuk menciptakan competitive advantage dengan terlibat dalam sebuah aliansi strategis yang menguntungkan.

It is the nature of the firms to pursue competitive advantage over the rivals in the industry. But however, it is very difficult to achieve competitive advantage especially due to the fiercer competition between firms, which now has been amplifying more than ever. This condition forces manager to impose new way to be stand out in the competition. Hence, this thesis promotes firms to engage in strategic alliances as the medium in order to gain competitive advantage. It is said that strategic alliance will boosts the supply of resources and networking channel. In addition to that, strategic alliance will facilitates the improvement of firm’s core competence as well as to learn and develop new strategic capabilities. This study analyses the benefits that the firms may get if they are integrated in an alliance. These benefits will also leads to the achievement of competitive advantage. Furthermore, this thesis correspondingly investigates the approaches for alliance to gain competitive advantage as well as how to successfully manage alliance, since there are many alliances meet failure during the operation. Moreover, this thesis also presents two case analyses, which will illustrate the concepts and theories of strategic alliance to the real business world. Combining those elements, this thesis hopes to unravel what it takes for firms to create competitive advantage by engaging in fruitful strategic alliance."

Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 90karyawan PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors dengan metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh antara manajemen stratejik terhadap keunggulan bersaing dan kinerja perusahaan secara signifikan."
