Manggarai Stray Cats Community Pet Clinic is a dog and cat animal clinic that supports first aid for sick stray cats in collaboration with the local cat lovers community. Apart from providing medical services for cats and dogs, this place aims to provide awareness to care for sick stray cats with a community gathering program. "Stres akademik adalah stres yang disebabkan oleh berbagai tuntutan akademik dimana tuntutan tersebut melebihi kapasitas kemampuan diri individu. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, mahasiswa perlu melakukan manajemen stres dan mengetahui sumber kopingnya. Salah satu contoh sumber koping adalah hewan peliharaan. Namun, masih sedikit penelitian yang membahas mengenai perbedaan tingkat stres akademik antara pet owners dan non-pet owners pada mahasiswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perbandingan tingkat stres akademik antara pet owners dan non-pet owners pada mahasiswa kesehatan. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 138 mahasiswa Rumpun Ilmu Kesehatan, menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel Accidental Sampling dan menggunakan desain penelitian cross sectional. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen SLSI (r = 0,904) yang dianalisis menggunakan analisis bivariat dengan uji t independen. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan hubungan yang negatif dan signifikan antara kepemilikan hewan dengan tingkat stres akademik yang artinya terdapat perbedaan stres akademik antara mahasiswa yang memelihara hewan dengan mahasiswa yang tidak memelihara hewan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hewan peliharaan memiliki berbagai macam manfaat bagi kondisi kesehatan jiwa. Hewan peliharaan dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber koping untuk mengurangi atau mengatasi stres akademik yang dirasakan.

Academic stress is stress caused by various academic demands where these demands exceed the capacity of the individual's abilities. To overcome this, students need to do stress management and know the source of coping. One example of a source of coping is a pet. However, few studies that discuss differences in the level of academic stress between pet owners and non-pet owners in college students. This study aimed to compare the level of academic stress between pet owners and non-pet owners in health students. The sample of this study was 138 students of the Health Sciences Cluster, using the Accidental Sampling technique and using a cross-sectional research design. This study used the SLSI instrument (r = 0.904) which was analyzed using bivariate analysis with an independent t-test. This study indicates a negative and significant relationship between animal ownership and academic stress levels, which means that there is a difference in academic stress between students who raise animals and students who do not. This research shows that pets have a variety of benefits for mental health conditions. Pets can be used as a source of coping to reduce or overcome perceived academic stress."

"Setiap individu berisiko untuk mengalami stres, salah satunya adalah mahasiswa. Stres yang dialami mahasiswa yaitu stres akademik. Stres akademik adalah respon individu terhadap suatu tekanan yang berasal dari tuntutan akademik seperti beban tugas dan ujian, persaingan antar mahasiswa dan tuntutan untuk berprestasi. Untuk mengurangi dampak negatif dari stres, individu diharapkan dapat melakukan manajemen stres. Salah satu manajemen stres yang dapat dilakukan adalah strategi koping. Contoh strategi koping yang dapat digunakan yaitu memelihara hewan peliharaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat stres akademik antara pet owners dan non-pet owners pada mahasiswa non-kesehatan Universitas Indonesia. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif komparatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 118 mahasiswa dari 9 fakultas non-kesehatan di Universitas Indonesia, dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel accidental sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat stres akademik yaitu Perception of Academic Stress Scale (PASS). Analisis data pada penelitian ini terdiri dari analisis data univariat untuk karakteristik responden dan analisis data bivariat menggunakan chi-squared. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah tidak terdapat perbedaan tingkat stres akademik yang signifikasi antara pet owners dan non-pet owners pada mahasiswa non-kesehatan (p = 0,207; α = 0,1). Melalui penelitian ini, diharapkan mahasiswa lebih sadar dan peduli terhadap stres yang dialami serta melakukan manajemen stres sesuai dengan pilihan dan sumber daya masing-masing. Menjadikan hewan peliharaan sebagai strategi koping dapat membantu mengurangi tingkat stres. Namun, hal tersebut dipengaruhi seberapa erat kelekatan antara pemilik dengan hewan yang dipelihara.

Every individual is at risk of experiencing stress, one of which is students. The stress experienced by students is academic stress. Academic stress is an individual's response to pressure originating from academic demands such as assignments and exams, competition between students and demands for achievement. To reduce the negative impact of stress, individuals are expected to be able to carry out stress management. One stress management that can be done is a coping strategy. An example of a coping strategy that can be used is keeping a pet. This study aims to determine the difference in academic stress levels between pet owners and non-pet owners among non-health students at the University of Indonesia. The design used in this research is descriptive comparative with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study was 118 students from 9 non-health faculties at the University of Indonesia, using accidental sampling techniques. The instrument used to measure the level of academic stress is the Perception of Academic Stress Scale (PASS). Data analysis in this study consisted of univariate data analysis for respondent characteristics and bivariate data analysis using chi-squared. The results of this research are that there is no significant difference in the level of academic stress between pet owners and non-pet owners in non-health students (p = 0.207; α = 0.1). Through this research, it is hoped that students will be more aware and care about the stress they experience and carry out stress management according to their individual choices and resources. Keeping pets as a coping strategy can help reduce stress levels. However, this is influenced by how close the attachment is between the owner and the animal being kept."
