"Osteoporosis merupakan kelainan metabolik tulang dan terdapat penurunan massa tulang tanpa disertai kelainan pada matriks tulang yang ditandai nyeri, deformitas tulang, dan kerapuhan tulang. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan wanita usia dewasa tentang osteoporosis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif dan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah sampel wanita dewasa berjumlah 150 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengetahuan osteoporosis didapat tinggi (54%), sedang (45%) dan rendah (1%). Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar untuk pengembangan program kesehatan masyarakat dalam memberikan pencegahan primer terkait osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disorder in which the reabsoption rate exceeds the bone mass formation characterized by pain, bone deformity and fragility of bone formation. This study aims to identify knowledge level of osteoporosis in young adult women. This is a descriptive study with cross sectional approach. The subjects was 150 women. The result found that 54% of respondents have a high level of knowledge, 45% moderate level and only 1% of respondents have a poor level of knowledge on osteoporosis. It is recommend to develop the public health programs regarding to primary prevention of osteoporosis."
