"Famous in the 1850s, Ernestine Rose has been undeservedly forgotten. An outstanding orator and activist for womens rights, free thought, anti-slavery, and pacifism, Rose became admired despite being the only foreigner and atheist in all these US movements. This biography restores her amazing life to history. Born the only child of a Polish rabbi in 1810, she rejected both Judaism and her fathers choice of a fiance for her, successfully sued in court for control of her inheritance, and left Poland forever at seventeen. After living in Berlin and Paris, she moved to London, where she became a follower of the industrialist-turned-socialist Robert Owen and met her husband, William Rose. They emigrated to New York in 1836. From then until 1869, Rose fought for freedom from religion, for abolitionism, and for feminism. Among the most radical reformers of her day, she believed all people, black and white, male and female, deserved equal rights. As an atheist, she was stigmatized as an infidel but believed that religion handicapped all believers, especially women. The rise of religion and antisemitism during the Civil War, coupled with splits in the womens movement, led the Roses to return to England in 1869. There she continued to be an advocate for feminism, free thought, and pacifism until her death in 1892. Restoring recognition of her unique life and career returns an important and vital figure to our heritage.

Utilizing feminist frame of analysis, Global Environment studies in International Relations emerged from the absence of environmental aspect on the discussion of global political phenomenon and dynamics. However, along the academic development, global environment studies still adopts traditional International Relations analysis through the highlight over the roles of mostly elite global actors, such as: the global market system, states, or global environmental institutions. This study will discuss how feminist in IRs analyzes an alternative portrait on the role of womens agency within the global environmet issues. Plural approach in global environment studies through Women, Environment, and Development theory (WED) is applied in analyzing the roles of women as environment agency which is heavily linked towards sustainable development.
This study uses qualitative research method through literature study and collects sources from secondary data, such as: international convention documents, literatures, interview script and news. The study finds that womens experiences as environment agency within several level of analyses affects the global environmental order with the incorporation of of gender mainstreaming approach and gender dimension inclusion which highlight the role of women on global initiatives and institutions. This study fills in the academic gap of plural approach on global environment studies by discussing the role of women agency as non-structural actor, as well as providing alternative representation of women in the issue of global environment issues as active actors not only victims.

Women ulama is one of non-state actor in International Relations. For more specific, women ulama could be categorized as Islamic feminist because upholds gender equality value within Islam as a strategy to advocate womens rights. This research analyses two things. First, on how they advocate womens rights in Indonesia through transnational advocacy networks perspective. Information politics, symbolic politics, leverage politics, and accountability politics are used by them to pursue their goal. In term of information politics, the role of technology such as internet is significant to disseminate gender equality value. Symbolic politics refers to how women ulama use some women figures in politics to narrate that they have equal capability in leadership and public sphere. Meanwhile leverage and accountability politics refers to transnational networking between women ulama Indonesia some international organizations and world forum to gain more power and support. Even though they gain support, we could not negate the challenges. First, the emerging of conservative Islamic populism in any part of the world that affects Indonesia. It does not only threaten democracy but also the value of gender equality. Second, the lack of political will coming from Indonesian government to promotes womens rights. Third, the presence of bad stereotype about gender equality becomes another issues for women Ulama. As one of non-state actors, women ulama is significant to discuss. Their presence has three critical points for International Relations subject. First, the significant of women Ulama as non-state actors in global politics. Second, the matter of morality that tends to be neglected by IR. Three, the matter of religious dimension in transnational advocacy networks
