"Novel chicklit merupakan novel yang merepresentasikan kehidupan perempuan lajang. Melalui pendekatan Kajian Budaya ditemukan beberapa wacana mainstream dalam kehidupan para lajang yang ada dalam ketiga novel chicklit, yaitu Bridget Jones's Diary, Good In Beet dan Jemima J. Wacana-wacana mainstream yang terdapat dalam novel-novel tersebut berhubungan dengan beberapa isu yang menjadi perjuangan dari feminisme. Suatu representasi tidak dapat terlepas dari ideologi. Melalui wacana, ideologi patriarki berusaha untuk membangun dan mengukuhkan kekuasaannya. Pada akhirnya dapat disimpulkan bahwa representasi perempuan lajang dalam ketiga novel chicklit ini bermakna sebagai resistensi terhadap berbagai wacana mainstream, meskipun masih terdapat ambivalensi dalam beberapa hal.

Chicklit novels are considered as the representation of single women. By using Cultural Study and The Discursive Approach to see how the single women are represented in three novels, namely: Bridget Jones's Diary, Good In Bed, and Jernima J, several mainstream discourses can be found. Those discourses are related to the issues that have been fought in feminisms. There is always an ideology that can be found in a representation. Through these discourses, the ideology of patriarchy is trying to establish or strengthen its power. In the end, it can be concluded that the representation of single women in the three chicklit novels is meant as a resistance towards the mainstream discourses, although there is still ambivalence in some parts of them."

"Tidak jarang pustakawan menjadi sorotan dalam suatu media hiburan, salah satunya pada novel literatur remaja berjudul “A Librarian’s Diary”. Novel ini bercerita mengenai kehidupan sehari-hari seorang gadis yang bekerja paruh waktu di perpustakaan milik keluarganya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis representasi perilaku pustakawan dalam novel “A Librarian’s Diary” dengan kode etik pustakawan yang disusun oleh Ikatan Pustakawan Indonesia sebagai basis pembanding. Metode penelitian yang akan digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi yang diartikan oleh Eriyanto (2001) sebagai metode penelitian yang menggambarkan secara detail suatu pesan atau suatu teks tertentu. Penulis mengumpulkan data pendukung penelitian dengan metode studi pustaka atau kajian dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa representasi pustakawan pada media hiburan dapat menjadi perantara kepada masyarakat untuk memberikan gambaran apa itu pustakawan serta bagaimana seorang pustakawan semestinya bersikap.

It is not uncommon for the librarian profession to be in the spotlight in entertainment media, one of which is a teen literature novel entitled "A Librarian's Diary". This novel tells the story of the daily life of a girl who works part-time in her family's library. This research is conducted to analyze the representation of librarian behavior in the novel "A Librarian's Diary" with the librarian's code of ethics compiled by the Indonesian Librarians Association (Ikatan Pustakawan Indonesia) as a basis for comparison. The research method to be used is the qualitative approach with the content analysis method defined by Eriyanto (2001) as a research method that describes in detail a message or a particular text. The author collected supporting data using a literature study method. The results show that the representation of librarians in entertainment media can be an intermediary for the community to provide an overview of what a librarian is and how a librarian should behave."

"ABSTRAKNovel yang ditulis oleh Sapphire menceritakan tentang masalah-masalah yang dialami oleh wanita kulit hitam pada abad ke-20 seperti kemiskinan, pendidikan dan kekerasan seksual. Melalui novel ini, sang penulis mencoba menggammbarkan perjuangan wanita kulit hitam melalui karakter utama yaitu Precious Jones. Artikel ini mencoba menganalisis bagaimana recious mengatasi masalah yang ada di hidupnya dan dengan saat yang bersamaan juga memberdayakan dirinya. Artikel ini menggunakan konsep feminisme kulit hitam dalam menganalisa karakter Precious dan perjuangannya. Dari penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsep Black feminist thought memberikan wanita kulit hitam pengetahuan yang dapat memberikan mereka kehidupan yang lebih baik melalui pembelajaran dari pengalaman hidup dari wanita kulit hitam.

It is through this novel that the author tries to depict the many struggles of Black women through the main character Precious Jones. This article tries to analyze how Precious overcome these problems while empowering herself in doing so. In this article, the concept Black feminist thought is used to analyze the character Precious also her struggle. From the research, it could be understood that the Black feminist thought provides Black women with knowledge that will help them in improving their lives through learning from the experience of Black women. "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian 2001 adalah novel Bildungsroman oleh Sherman Alexie yang menceritakan tentang seorang anak Native American yang tinggal di Spokane Reservation Area. Novel ini menekankan perjuangan seorang anak Native American yang miskin dan menginginkan kehidupan yang lebih layak. Banyak yang telah membahas buku ini menggunakan pendekatan budaya seperti racial formation theory, trauma kolektif, dan krisis identitas, namun tidak banyak yang menganalisis novel ini menggunakan psikoanalisis Jung. Dengan menggunakan arketipe pahlawan Jung, artikel ini mencoba untuk meneliti apakah Arnold dapat disebut pahlawan dengan cara mencocokkannya dengan monomyth yang digagaskan oleh Jung dan Campbell. Selain itu, artikel ini juga akan meneliti apakah pascakolonialisme yang dialami oleh para Native American berpengaruh dalam membentuk Arnold menjadi pahlawan. Artikel ini akan membuktikan bahwa seseorang yang disebut pahlawan belum tentu hanya yang menyelamatkan orang lain dan mengorbankan dirinya sendiri, tetapi seseorang yang berjuang untuk keuntungan sendiri adalah pahlawan juga.

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian 2001 is a coming-of-age novel by Sherman Alexie which tells the story of a young Native American boy who lives in the Spokane Reservation Area. This novel emphasizes the struggle of a poor Native American boy who desires a better life. While a lot of scholars have discussed the book using cultural approach like racial formation theory, collective trauma, and crisis identity, not many have analyzed the novel using Jung rsquo;s psychoanalysis. By using Jung rsquo;s hero archetype, this article seeks to discover whether Arnold can be called a hero by matching it with the monomyth stages proposed by Jung and Campbell. Moreover, it will examine whether post-colonialism that the Native American community experiences has anything to do in shaping Arnold as a hero. This article is aimed at proving that a hero is not necessarily someone who saves others and sacrifices his/herself, but someone who fights for own benefits is also considered a hero."
