Makalah ini membahas film Catching Fire dengan menggunakan konsep kekuasaan oleh French dan Raven (1959) serta konsep harapan oleh Drahos (2004) untuk menganalisa bentuk-bentuk kekuasaan yang direpresentasikan dalam film Catching Fire. French dan Raven, dalam konsep mereka tentang lima bentuk kekuasaan, menjelaskan bagaimana kekuasaan dapat diterapkan melalui lima bentuk tersebut. Dalam film Catching Fire, setidaknya terdapat dua bentuk kekuasaan yang ditunjukkan oleh karakter Presiden Snow. Kemudian, karakter Katniss juga menjadi ikon harapan yang menjelaskan isi pesan dari film tersebut. Jenis harapan yang seperti apa dan bagaimana signifikansinya juga dibahas dengan menggunakan konsep harapan dari Drahos.

ABSTRACT
This paper examines the film, Catching Fire, drawing on the concept of power by French and Raven (1959) and the concept of hope by Drahos (2004) to analyse what kinds of power are depicted in the movie. French and Raven, in their concept about five bases of power, explains how power is applied through those five bases, and in Catching Fire, there are, at least, two forms of power shown by the character of President Snow. The character of Katniss then becomes an icon of hope which explains the message of the film. "ABSTRAK
Tulisan ini membahas tentang perbandingan konflik internal dan eksternal pada saudara kandung dalam masyarakat distopia dengan menganalisis Katniss dan Tris sebagai tokoh utama sedangkan Prim dan Caleb sebagai tokoh pendukung dalam film The Hunger Games (2012) karya Gary Ross dan film Insurgent (2015) karya Robert Schwentke. Kedua film ini dipilih karena film The Hunger Games (2012) dan Insurgent (2015) sebagian besar menggambarkan isu konflik kakak-beradik pada masyarakat saat ini dengan menggunakan masyarakat distopia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis teks. Tulisan ini menjelaskan tentang baik konflik internal dan eksternal pada saudara kandung di kedua film tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji perbandingan konflik yang harus dihadapi oleh kakak-beradik dalam film-film tersebut dan bagaimana hubungan mereka memengaruhi cara pandang mereka dalam menghadapi konflik di masyarakat baru. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa persamaan dan perbedaan dari konflik-konflik yang harus dihadapi oleh kakak-beradik tersebut.

ABSTRACT
This study examined the comparison of internal and external conflicts on siblings in a dystopian society by analysing Katniss and Tris as the main characters while Prim and Caleb as secondary characters in Gary Ross’s The Hunger Games (2012) and Robert Schwentke’s Insurgent (2015) movies. Both of these movies are chosen because The Hunger Games (2012) and Insurgent (2015) predominantly illustrates the issue of conflicts on siblings in today’s society by using a dystopian society. This research uses textual analysis method. The paper explains about both internal and external conflicts on siblings in both movies. The objective of this research is to examine the comparison of the conflicts that the siblings in each movie have to deal with and how their relation affects their perspectives in dealing with conflicts in a new society. This study reveals that there are some similarities and differences of the conflicts that the siblings have to deal with.;"
