"Research has been done the effect of coffee on sleepiness. Several studies claim that caffeine is proven to overcome sleepiness. However, little is known about the effect of various methods and amounts of coffee intake on a sleep-deprived person. This study compares the effectiveness of one-time and intermittent intake of coffee to overcome driver sleepiness due to partial sleep deprivation. This study used a within-subject experimental design in a driving simulator. There were eight participants, all of whom met certain criteria. The participants’ degree of sleepiness was measured objectively and subjectively. Objectively, the degree of sleepiness was measured based on alpha, beta, and theta brainwaves using an electroencephalograph (EEG); subjectively, this study used the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale (KSS). The participants experienced partial sleep deprivation the night before each experiment. The results of this study support previous studies’ findings that coffee can reduce sleepiness. This study also found differences in the effectiveness of one-time vs. intermittent intake of coffee (sig. value for EEG = 0.025; sig. value for KSS = 0.001). For partially sleep-deprived drivers, one-time coffee intake was found to be more effective in counteracting both objective and subjective sleepiness than intermittent coffee intake."

"An effective and real-time traffic information network is highly important and could contribute to decreasing traffic volume and costs by reducing fuel consumption and saving time for drivers in reaching their destinations. This study provides an extensive analysis regarding the drivers? acceptance levels of the current implementation of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) in Kuala Lumpur. A proposed model from the literature review based on the known Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is introduced. The ITS system characteristics, information quality, system quality, and service quality were investigated as external variables. The resulting analysis showed that information quality is the highest influential factor followed by system quality. The results also revealed that service quality had no effect on acceptance levels."

"The aim of this study
was to examine and compare psychological factors influencing car drivers? and
motorcycle riders? speeding intentions (IN), using the Theory of Planned
Behaviour (TPB). The psychological factors modules included Attitude (AT),
Subjective Norm (SN) and Perceived Behavioural Control (PBC). These were
employed to explain speeding intentions in urban road environments. A sample of
188 car drivers and 174 motorcycle riders were collected from the two
universities within Khon Kaen, Thailand. The Structural Equation Model (SEM)
was used to examine and explain speeding intentions. The results indicated that
the TPB could explain 33% and 41% of the variance of intentions by car drivers
and motorcycle riders, respectively. The most significant psychological factor
for car drivers was determined by attitude (AT), while the speeding intention
of motorcycle riders was attributed to perceived behavioural control (PBC). The
authorities in Khon Kaen Province should determine safety policies that can
improve these psychological factors, which could have various effects or
outcomes on changing car drivers? and motorcycle riders? speeding intentions.
The outcome of this study could help to understand car drivers? and motorcycle
riders? speeding intentions in urban road environments and it could be useful
for development of safety measures."

"The aim of this study
was to examine and compare the psychological factors influencing driver
speeding behavior in 3 cities in Southeast Asia, focusing on developing
counties, using the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). Data was collected from
570 respondents in the urban areas of Khon Kaen in Thailand, Vientiane in Laos
and Phnom Penh in Cambodia. The psychological factors of TPB include attitude
(AT), subjective norm (SN) and perceived behavioral control (PBC). These
factors were employed to explain speeding intentions in urban road
environments. The Structural Equation Models (SEM) was used to examine and
explain speeding intentions. The results indicated that the TPB could explain
the variance by intentions of drivers in Khon Kaen, Vientiane and Phnom Penh at
33%, 46%, and
84%, respectively. The most significant of the psychological factors for Khon
Kaen drivers was determined by AT, while the speeding intentions of Vientiane
drivers and Phnom Penh drivers were determined by PBC. From this data, the
authorities of each city should create and implement safety policies that can
improve these psychological factors, which could have a positive effect on
drivers?speeding intentions in urban road environments. The outcome of this
study could be useful for understanding the speeding attitudes of drivers in
three different countries and would be beneficial for the development and
introduction of preventative safety measures in these countries as well."

"Rice husk is one of the
most abundant biomass wastes in Indonesia. One way to convert it into an
alternative source of energy is biomass gasification. This is a thermochemical
process which converts biomass feedstock into fuel gas or chemical feedstock
gas (producer gas). The gasification type which is developed in this study is
fixed bed downdraft type due to its low tar content and compatibility in
microscale implementation. One major problem with the implemented biomass
gasification reactor was ruggedness of the partial oxidation process due to the
absence of air in the reactor?s middle section, which consequently affected the
pyrolysis zone. Several experiments were conducted previously using coconut
shells and rice husks as solid feedstock, where an equivalence ratio (ER) of
0.4 was obtained. Therefore, in order to optimize the pyrolysis zone, the
modification conducted involves adding a circular air intake into the gasifier.
Experiments were conducted in a pyrolysis temperature range of 300?700oC
with ER variation of 0.19, 0.24, 0.27 and 0.31. The results show that a good
quality producer gas is produced at an ER value of 0.24. This value shows a
promising result because the ER value of biomass gasification standard is 0.25."

ABSTRACT
This correlational study was conducted to demonstrate the relationship between computer self-efficacy (CSE) and elementary school teachers? use of computer. CSE is defined as a judgement of one?s capability to use a computer (Compeau & Higgins, 1995) and teachers? use of computer is defined as the frequency of teachers? using computer in the form of preparation, professional e-mail, delivering instruction, accommodation, and grading (Babell, Russell, & O?Dwyer, 2004). CSE was measured by Computer Self-Efficacy Scale (Compeau & Higgins, 1995) and teachers? use of computer was measured by Teachers? Technology Use Scale (Babell, Russell, & O?Dwyer, 2004). Data was collected from 164 elementary school teachers in Jakarta, Bogor, and Bekasi. The main result shows that there is a significant positive correlation between computer self-efficacy and teachers? use of computer on elementary school teachers (r = 0,486, p = 0,000, L.o.S. 0,01). Based on the study result, it is suggested for teachers and schools to work on improving the CSE in order to increase the use of computers.
