"ABSTRAKBerkembangnya trend konvergensi dalam industri multimedia,informasi dan komunikasi mengakibatkan bermunculan bisnis baru,yang salah satunya adalah bisnis Internet TV.Internet TV adalah mekanisme baru dalam berkomunikasi ditandai dengan penggunaan multimedia dimana teks,suara,gambar dan grafis dapat di akses sekaligus dalam satu media. PT. Global Trend Intermedia (GTI) sebagai salah satu pengelola jasa Internet TV,menangkap peluang bisnis Internet TV ini.Sebagai pemula dalam bisnis ini PT GTI perlu kiranya menyusun strategi yang tepat.Dalam tesis ini di lakukan kajian formulasi strategi perusahaan dan analisis perencanaan Bisnis Internet TV denganmelihat aspek pasar,aspek teknik,aspek organisasi dan manajemen yang bertujuan memberikan masukan kepada manajemen PT GTI dalam menetapkan strategi pengembangannya.Penelitian dilakukan berdasarkan konsep manajemen stratejik denganmenggunakan matrik internal,matrik eksternal dan matrik Internal Eksternal ,dan matrik SWOT yang digunakan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang peluang bisnis Internet TV, mengetahui posisi perusahaan, untuk kemudian menentukan strategi yang tepat agar dapat memenangkan persaingan.

ABSTRACTThe recent trend of convergence in the multimedia industry, information and communication had moved many business entities to grew, and one of those entities is Internet TV. Internet TV is a new mechanism in communicating with the use of multimedia, in which the texts, voices, pictures and graphics could be access could be access on the same time.PT. Global Trend InterMedia (GTM) as one of the business entity that run the Internet TV service had caught this Internet TV business opportunity. As the beginner in this industry, PT. GTM needs to make a correct strategy. This thesis will analyzed the company?s strategic formula and analyzed Internet TV business plans considering the market aspect, technical aspect, organization and management aspectand also financial aspect the will give inputs to PT. "IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) merupakan gabungan dari beberapa teknologi yang terkait untuk mengirimkan program TV dengan koneksi broadband melalui Internet. Teknologi tersebut seperti software dan hardware yang masih terus dikembangkan. IPTV menjamin dikembangkannya fleksibilitas & skalabilitas teknologi IP untuk mengubah televisi dengan menyediakan akses terhadap lebih banyak content dengan kualitas yang lebih baik dibandingkan Broadcast TV tradisional yang dapat disesuaikan selera dan memungkinkan layanan interaktif [6]. Dengan IPTV tersebut memberikan peluang bagi TELKOM untuk mengembangkan jaringan internet broadband yang dimiliki yaitu Speedy menuju layanan IPTV dengan memanfaatkan infrastruktur jaringan dan customer base Speedy. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana model bisnis IPTV di TELKOM DIVRE II Jakarta dengan membandingkan (benchmark) bisnis model IPTV yang sudah diimplementasikan di PCCW Hong Kong dan France Telecom. Analisa model bisnis IPTV ditekankan pada aspek teknologi, aspek konten, aspek pasar (segmentasi, target dan posisi pasar), aspek tarif dan aspek keuangan. IPTV layak diimplementasikan di Telkom DIVRE II Jakarta berdasarkan analisa model bisnis menggunakan proyeksi jumlah pelanggan optimis sesuai data benchmark PCCW Hong Kong dengan hasil NPV sebesar Rp. 61,5 milyar, IRR sebesar 42,46% dan PP selama 3 tahun.

IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) refers to a group of related technologies delivering television programming using a broadband connection over internet. These are technologies as software and hardware are still being developed. IPTV promises to leverage the flexibility and scalability of IP technology to transform the television experience by providing access to more content of a superior quality that can be more personalized and interactive than traditional broadcast TV [8]. The IPTV gives opportunity to develop Speedy broadband internet network into IPTV services utilizing network infrastructure and customer base of Speedy. The purpose of this study is to know the business model of TELKOM DIVRE II Jakarta IPTV by benchmarking to PCCW Hong Kong and France Telecom IPTV. Analysis of IPTV business model was focused on technological, content, market (market segmentation, target and position), tariff and financial aspects. Business model analysis based on the number of optimist customer projection as a data benchmark of PCCW Hong Kong results on NPV is Rp. 61.5 M, IRR is Rp. 42.46% and 3 years of Pay Back Periode. This business model enables IPTV feasible to be implented in Telkom DIVRE II Jakarta."

"Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) merupakan suatu layanan multimedia seperti TV, video, audio, text, grafik, dan data yang dikirim melalui jaringan berbasis Internet Protocol (IP) yang membutuhkan suatu level quality of service (QoS). Internet Protocol Multimedia Subystem yang dikenal dengan IMS adalah suatu teknologi dimana layanan komunikasi multimedia multi akses pada jaringan IP dengan memberikan suatu Jaminan QoS. Dengan layanan IPTV melalui IMS diharapkan layanan IPTV dapat diakses dari jaringan akses yang berbeda. Dari hasil testbed IPTV melalui IMS, pelanggan yang melakukan roaming di visited network pada jaringan wireless ketika putus dari jaringan dan mendapatkan sinyal kembali tidak perlu melakukan register ulang. Dan dari hasil pengukuran semakin tinggi video bit rate dari server IPTV, throughput semakin tinggi sedangkan delay dan jitter semakin menurun. Nilai dari delay lebih kecil dari 32 ms dan jitter lebih kecil dari 20 ms, masih dalam range spesifikasi standard ITU-T Y.1541.

Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) is multimedia services such as TV, video, audio, text, graphics, and data that sent through the network based Internet Protocol (IP), which requires a level of quality of service (QoS). Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem known as IMS is a technology where multi-access multimedia communication services on IP networks by providing a QoS guarantee. With IMS based IPTV service is expected to be accessible from different access networks. From the results of testbed IMS based IPTV, user who is roaming in the visited network on wireless networks when disconnected from the network and get the signal back do not need to register again. And from the result of measurement the higher video bit rate of the server IPTV, the higher throughput while the lower delay and jitter. The value of delay is below 32 ms and jitter is below 20ms, still in range specification standard ITU-T Y.1541."

"Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB-T) adalah standar transmisi televisi digital terrestrial yang menggunakan teknik modulasi OFDM yaitu teknik modulasi multicarrier yang menggunakan beberapa frekuensi subcarrier yang saling tegak lurus (orthogonal). Salah satu permasalahan OFDM adalah nilai Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) yang tinggi sehingga diperlukan penguat daya RF dengan dynamic range yang lebar untuk menghindari distorsi nonlinear. Pada penelitian ini reduksi PAPR dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode soft clipping berdasarkan model Rapp?s SSPA yang membatasi sinyal daya puncak maksimum dengan lebih halus tanpa melebihi nilai saturasinya. Reduksi PAPR yang dihasilkan dengan menggunakan metode soft clipping pada aplikasi DVB-T mode 2k (2048 IFFT points) dengan level threshold 0.7 dan knee factor 2 adalah 23.35 dB. Metode soft clipping dapat meningkatkan reduksi PAPR yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan metode hard clipping dimana nilai reduksi PAPR pada metode soft clipping dipengaruhi oleh nilai knee factor-nya.

Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB-T) is a standard for terrestrial transmission of digital television signals. DVB-T uses OFDM modulation technique which is multicarrier modulation technique that using some subcarriers orthogonally. One of the serious problems in OFDM is the high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) that needs RF Amplifier with high dynamic range to avoid nonlinear distortion. In this thesis, PAPR reduction was succesfully performed using soft clipping method based on Rapp?s SSPA model which limits the maksimum peak power smoothly below the saturation value. The PAPR reduction on DVB-T mode 2k (2048 IFFT points) with 0.7 of threshold and 2 of knee factor is 23.35 dB. Soft clipping method increase PAPR reduction compared to hard clipping where the PAPR reduction of soft clipping method influences by knee factor."

"Teori mediasi orangtua menyatakan bahwa orangtua berperan dalam memaksimalkan manfaat positif dan meminimalisir dampak negatif media terhadap anak mereka. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana ibu berprofesi sebagai pendidik menerapkan mediasi orangtua terhadap penggunaan televisi dan Internet oleh anaknya. Selain paradigma Post-positivistik dan pendekatan kualitatif yang digunakan, in-depth interview dilakukan kepada enam orang narasumber yang merupakan ibu berprofesi sebagai pendidik. Hasil temuan menunjukkan, ibu dari kalangan pendidik sadar akan pentingnya mediasi dan melakukan beberapa bentuk mediasi yang ada dalam teori. Latar belakang pendidikan ibu, gender dan usia anak, serta karakteristik media adalah beberapa contoh faktor yang mempengaruhi penerapan mediasi orangtua.

Parental mediation theory stated that parents have a role in maximizing positive benefit and minimizing negative impact of media on their children. This study examined how educator mothers applied parental mediation toward their children's use of television and Internet. Besides post-positivist paradigm and qualitative approach, in-depth interview was conducted to six informants who are educator mothers. The findings indicate that educator mothers are aware of the importance of parental mediation and applies some of mediation type described in the theory. Mother's educational background, children's gender and age, and also media characteristics are some examples of factors that influence the practice of parental mediation."
