"This study analyzes the correlation between business diversification and performances in Indonesian listed companies from 2006-2011. In addition to observing business diversification impact on company?s performance in term of Return on Assets (ROA) and Tobin?s Q, this research also observes the business diversification impact on the performances of different companies at different level.
The result of this research indicates that diversification gives negative effect to ROA and Tobin?s Q, while for higher level of diversification, the effect on Tobin?s Q is relatively high. The negative effect of diversification on ROA is higher in the group of companies with higher ROA. The different results show that when using Tobin?s Q as a measure of companies? performances, diversification gives negative impact to companies? performance in the intermediate level."

Since banking deregulation in 1963, banking in Indonesia has begun to develop rapidly. Currently, banks do not only generate interest income, but can also offer various other products that can generate non-interest income. The Bank began to take action on other sources of income by conducting other business activities such as underwriting and securities trading, brokerage, investment, and other income generating activities.
Income diversification can affect banks quite risky. Traditional banking activities (e.g. deposits and credit) on the one hand are considered stable, offering significant credit risk, liquidity risk and interest rate risk. On the other hand, activities that are not interest-based are subject to market risk, operational risk, and reputation risk, so they tend to have greater volatility, but provide higher expected returns.
Based on the strategy carried out in evaluating the shares owned, where the decisions taken will be taken at the risk desired by the shareholders. In addition, the type of bank ownership and the interaction of ownership types on the influence of the manager's decision in policy.
This research focuses on conventional commercial banks whose assets dominate 88% of total banking assets in Indonesia. The stability of conventional banks in Indonesia is crucial because it can have a systemic effect on the financial industry in Indonesia. With this research, it is hoped that it can contribute to the banking industry in Indonesia regarding the influence and influence of the type of ownership on banks in Indonesia which can be used in making bank decisions to adjust to the type of ownership and its effect on future sustainability. We recommend that banks consider these findings to determine the direction of their views in order to safeguard their banks.

"The aim of this study is to develop a new liquidity measurement. The mechanical approach is used
to measure the liquidity. This study uses trade order base that is more pronounced than conventional
ones. To confirm the result of this study, we use pre opening session in the term of event as Kholisoh
and Hermawati (2010) and Kholisoh (2011). This study collects trade base and order base intraday
data one month period before and after pre opening session was implemented with the 25 most active
stocks in LQ45. This study examines the velocity (how fast the order is executed) as new liquidity
measurement. The result of this study confirms Kholisoh (2011), but contradicts to Kholisoh and Hermawati
(2010) in the same event. The use of ?velocity? as a metric of liquidity measurement is better
in understanding the theoretical wisdom. This new liquidity measurement can cover the speed of the
order to be executed in all capital market."

"This research studies the international co-movement among Asia Pacific emerging markets stock price indices during the late 2000s recession by using the monthly observations start from 1st October 2001 until 1st April 2011. The co-integration analysis and parsimonious Vector Error Correction Model employed in this research reveal a long-term relationship and interdependencies among seven Asia Pacific emerging market stock price indices. This research finds that the unique co-integation exists on the equations. Specifically, two indices from China and Taiwan having meteor shower potential while the rest indices from Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia are known to have heat waves effects or country specific factors on the equation. Finally, all the results are linked to the international diversification strategies."

"This paper empirically examines the effect of banks' revenue diversification on the stock-based
return and risk measures using data on the ASEAN-5, and addition from China, Japan, and South
Korea banking sector. This paper use panel Fixed Effect and robustness test with Random Effect and
TSLS. We use non-interest income share as a measure for revenue diversification. We find that revenue
diversification has no effect on bank’s market value but significantly decrease bank total risks. Whennon-
interest income is decomposed, we find that fee-income business has significant positive effect on
bank value. Furthermore, it’s important to see characteristic of banks that practice diversification,
such as bank size and capital. Overall, we provide evidence that banks, especially larger oneswith
good condition on capital, could increase their value and lower their risk by diversifying non-interest
income, especially with fee income as well as other types of non-interest income."

"Recently Indonesia is viewed quite positively due to its achievements in withering the 2008 financial crisis and for world's recognition as one of the fast emerging economies along with Brazil, Russia, India, China and the G-20 countries. Does that mean that it's time for Indonesia to use its economic performance as asset for diplomacy? What to consider when employing economic achievements as diplomatic tool? This paper discusses the changing nature of diplomacy, the posture of Indonesia's economic performance, how Indonesia tap into it, and what could be done to take most advantage out of the new context and development in international politics."

"We investigate the impact of the presence of women in top management on bank performance
controlling for bank specific factors, ownership and governance. By making use of sample of 70 Indonesian
banks in a cross section study, we find strong evidence that the presence of women in the
executives is negatively associated with firm performance. Moreover, we examine the moderating
effect of TMT organizational tenure and TMT age. However, only little evidence is found in the effect
of our moderating variables."

"The purpose of this study is to evaluate performance and volatility of Islamic and conventional
stock indices along with their determinant factor variables in Indonesia. The study adopts: (1) Capital
Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) to compare the performance of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) to
represent Islamic index and LQ45 to represent the conventional, (2) beta calculation to measure
volatility, and (3) Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) to capture the determinants and the reason
behind the outperformance. The data coverage is from January 2006 to November 2015. The study
finds that: (1) There is no significant difference on performance between JII and LQ45, (2) JII is less
volatile than LQ45, except in 2010, and (3) JII performance is less affected by external factorsexcept
for crude oil price. Moreover, the result implies challenge for the authorities to educate society, particularly
whom concern to shari?ah principles, with information that Islamic index performance is
not much difference from conventional index and less volatile."

"The Indonesia Stock Exchange has really concerned about improving stock market quality these
days. One of its effort is implementing pre-closing trading session. It refers to Decision of the Board
of Directors of The Indonesia Stock Exchange Number Kep-00399/BEI/11-2012, regarding Amendment
to Rule Number II-A concerning Equity-Type Securities Trading. The rule is effective on 2nd
January 2013 and Indonesia Stock Exchange has implemented it since that date. The purposes of
pre-closing implementation are to mitigate marking the close, which is the practice of buying security
at the very end of the trading day at a significantly higher price than the current price of the security,
and to improve market quality. This paper attempts to veryfy whether the impact of pre-closing implementation
to price efficiency is positive or not. The result shows that the pre-closing implementation
has positive impact to price efficiency. It reduces the return volatility and market manipulation at the
closing time which also means that the pre-closing implementation has effectively improved market
quality in the Indonesia Stock Exchange."
