ABSTRACT This article discusses about the theme of love in French literature of the 19th century,

particularly about love affair of the main character in La Jalousie, written by Sacha Guitry.

This drama is based on real life in the 19th century. An affair that happened because of the

husband?s jealousy is suspected to be the cause of the conflict between characters. This

analysis is carried out to see the illustration of the conflict of love that occurs through its
