"This text is an ideal introduction to the use of quantitative methods in archaeology. It outlines conceptual and statistical principles, illustrates their application, and provides problem sets for practice. Statistical techniques are presented in a clear and straightforward manner throughout, and the careful balance between introduction of key concepts and their application to archaeological data is perfectly suited for both students and professionals in the field. Quantitative analysis in archaeology is the most comprehensive review available of the essentials of measurement in archaeology, and it includes coverage of methods and techniques valuable to archaeologists but not found in other texts"--Provided by publisher"

"Tasikmalaya Regency has been known as a region that had been occupied from prehistoric period. The site contains many prehistoric artifacts along the Cihelang and Cilangla rivers, especially stone tools artifact. The raw material from the stone tools is diverse such as chert, jasper, chalcedony, quartz, and tuff were found there. The problem is the entire stone tools that were found are not been analyzed yet from the previous research. Through archaeotraciology and lithic implements analysis, it is possible to establish a link between technological behaviors, major quarrying, and tools type. Moreover, this site could help us to understand certain aspect of prehistoric human's behaviors during the upper Pleistocene until early Holocene, especially in West Java.
