As the fintech industry evolves, personal financial management (PFM) apps have emerged as an alternative to spreadsheets in facilitating personal finance management. In Indonesia, Finku stands out as the most rapidly growing PFM app. Despite Finku's perceived efficiency and intuitiveness compared to spreadsheets, it still faces challenges in retaining its user base, as indicated by its low user retention rate. To address this challenge, this study employs the push-pull-mooring (PPM) framework to understand the factors influencing users' intentions to switch from spreadsheets to Finku. The study uses a mixed-method approach, combining questionnaire data from 198 respondents and semi-structured interviews with six participants, to provide a comprehensive picture of the phenomenon under investigation. For the analysis of quantitative data, this study uses the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method, while qualitative data is analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that user dissatisfaction and perceived inefficiency of spreadsheets, Finku's alternative attractiveness, consumer innovation, switching costs, and perceived security and privacy significantly influence users' intention to switch. However, ubiquity was not found to significantly impact the intention to switch. The study also highlights that innovative features, such as gamification and automatic financial report generators, play a major role in increasing alternative attractiveness, thus influencing users' switching intentions. This study contributes by providing in-depth understanding of the PPM factors influencing users' switching intentions from spreadsheets to Finku. These findings can also serve as a foundation for Finku app developers to improve user retention based on the identified PPM factors.
