The information about immediate denture treatment should be given clearly to the patient. The patient needs to understand about the treatment's aspects in order to give acceptance and agreement toward the treatment. This case represents 41 years old woman with protrusive upper and lower anterior teeth which makes the patient feel inconfident toward her performance. The immediate partial denture was prepared with interseptal alveolectomy on upper and lower jaws. The extraction procedure was planned toward 13, 12, 11, 21, 22, 23, and 32 ,31, 41, 42. The patient refused 13 and 23 extraction based on psychological consideration. The operator approached the patient by re-explaining the treatment procedure and its purposed and they came up with a solution that the extraction would be spritted in two phases. This compromies resulted in satisfying final treatment's result. Patient was satisfied by the dentures and her overall performance since the esthetic problem have been solved."

"Denture treatment can be said successful if the denture can restore masticatory and esthetic function and keep oral tissue in healthy condition. The success of full denture treatment depends on some factors, which are procedural techniques of full denture processing, which include clinical and laboratory phases. Besides technical aspects, there are some nontechnical aspects, which include emotional characteristic of the patient, relation or communication between patient and dentist, patients motivation and information about full denture. These aspects are often forgotten by dentists because they emphasize more on technical aspects. This article describes the aspects of nontechnical procedures in making full denture and its connection with the success of full denture treatment. The conclusion of this paper is that it is necessary to communicate clearly with a patient who needs full denture treatment, orally with simple and understandable language along with demonstrations and written information about diagnosis, prognosis and the treatment plan of the procedure which will be conducted according to the patient's character."

"Good cooperation between patient and the dentist is needed in full denture fabrication. This case report presents problems that occurred when the dentist had to face a hysterical patient with uncontrolled tongue movement. The problems include patient's dentispsychological state that showed hesitant towards the dentist. In this case, the patient already had two pairs of full dentures when seeking for another one. The second problem was related to the uncontrolled tongue movement, which could decrease lower denture stability. The dentist had to be very patient in listening to patient's complaints and assure the patient to adjust with the new dentures."

"Ectodermal dysplasia is a rare congenital disease that effects several ectodermal structures. This disease is usually tranmitted as an x-linked recesive trait in which the gene is carried by female and manifested in male. The orofacial characteristics of ectodermal dysplasia include anodontia or hypodontia, congenital teeth, underdevelopment of alveolar ridges and it is not uncommon for the face of an affected child to take on the appearance characteristic of old age, a prominent forehead, protuberant lips, a depressed nasal bridge, hypotricosis, and hypohidrosis. The treatment to manage orofacial disfigurement may afford the pasient some measure of confidence, esthetics, function and speech. This case report describes the diagnosis and treatment of ectodermal dysplasia in an 18 year patient. The treatment included removable complete dentures."

RSGM FKG Universitas Indonesia. Subjek dipilih melalui consecutive sampling
method dan diminta mengisi kuesioner PDA-ID 1 bulan pasca insersi gigi tiruan
lengkap.
densitas mandibula = 0,78 tergolong baik. Analisis bivariat menunjukkan hubungan
bermakna pada tinggi tulang mandibula (p=0,000), tingkat pendidikan (p=0,013) dan
pengalaman memakai gigi tiruan sebelumnya (p=0,000). Variabel yang dapat diolah
kedalam analisis multivariat (p<0,250) yaitu tinggi mandibula (p=0,000), densitas
mandibula (p=0,160), tingkat pendidikan (p=0,013), jenis kelamin (p=0,174), lama

Objective: To analyze the most important factor affecting patients satisfaction
towards complete denture treatment with vertical heights and bone density of mandible,
age, sex, education level, duration of edentulism, and denture experiences.
Method : A-cross sectional study assessed the data of 92 subjects (55 men, 37 women),
aged 45 years and older who wore complete denture constructed in Dental Teaching
Hospital Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia. All participants selected through
consecutive sampling methods were asked to complete the PDA-ID questionnaire at 1-
month post complete denture insertion. 92 Panoramic radiograph of the subjects were
used in this study to evaluate the vertical heights (at the anterior and posterior of
mandible) and bone density of mandible using Xie methods and MCI (Mandibular
Cortical Index). Intraobserver and interobserver reliability test for the height
measurement and bone density of mandible was assessed between two observer. PDAID score was compared between the patients with different age group, sex, education
level, duration of edentulism and previous denture experiences.
Result: Intraobserver and interobserver reliability test show there were no significant
difference in vertical height measurement of mandible (p>0,05) and bone density of
mandible (Kappa Value=0,78) between two observer. Statistically, there were
significant differences in patient satisfaction between different vertical heights of
mandible (p=0,000), education level (p=0,013) and previous denture experiences
(p=0,000). Predictive factors could be included in multivariate analysis (p<0,250) were
vertical heights of mandible (p=0,000), bone density of mandible (p=0,160), education
level (p=0,013), sex (p=0,174), duration of edentulism (p=0,202) and previous denture
experiences (p=0,000). Multivariate analysis shows patients satisfaction with complete
denture treatment was mostly affected by vertical heights of anterior mandible
(p=0,000). Meanwhile, the previous denture experiences was contributed as an
important confounding factor (Odd Ratio difference = 30%).
Conclusion:.Vertical height of the anterior mandible is a determinant factor affecting
patients satisfaction towards complete denture treatment."

"Proper and clear pronunciation are problems that usually rising in patients with edentulous ridge. To overcome that problem a full denture is highly needed, so that the patients can eat well, to fulfill the esthetic problems and good in speaking. In Phonetics there is a difference between vocal and consonant, it depends on how the modification of the air flow in respiration in the oral cavity. In this research, the point of view is the linguopalatal consonant /c/ and /j/ that had a place of articulation in front of the palatum. In full denture wearers there is a difficulty in pronouncing this consonant properly because the Upper Full Denture has a palatal plate, in which this linguopalatal consonant has a place of articulation in the middle of the palatum. This research evaluated the quality of pronouncing the linguopalatal consonant after the day of insertion, after 3 days, 10 days and also before using denture. 25 respondents using denture for the first time and 3 researchers evaluated the proper and clear pronunciation of 6 words (cacah, cicih, cucu, jajah, jijik, juju). The results of this study is there is no progress in proper pronunciation using word cacah, cicih and cucu. On the other hand there is an increase about 20% in good pronouncing the word jajah, and also there is a decreasing percentage in pronouncing word jijik and juju. After day 10, all of the words can be pronounced well except word jijik. So there is a special characteristic in full denture wearers for consonant /c/ and /j/"
