Today, film industry that revolves around gay relationships has become usual as LGBT has been spread around the world. Many researches have done some works on gay films which focus on the relationships that are built in films. This article will examine gay relationships narrated in The Normal Heart and Out in the Dark. This paper argues that the source of their fight is socially constructed. Society cannot accept the fact that they are gay so they consider them bothering and mistreat them as if they are not normal. In both films, partners use violence to their boyfriends due to the powerlessness and anxiety that are caused by the society?s attitude toward them as gays. These feelings of vulnerability push them to use violence against their closest person to ensure their power. Empirically, violence in gay relationships has been tested to many gays in many countries but never in films. Using disempowerment theory (McKenry, 2006), this article examines the violence scene between the male characters as a result of the mistreatment by the society. Furthermore, the pattern of the society?s mistreatment leading to the violence scene is also discussed."

"Gay telah mengalami berbagai pengalaman yang tidak menyenangkan semenjak ketertarikan sexual mereka dianggap sebagai perbuatan menyimpang oleh masyarkat. Hal ini diperparah ketika virus HIV-AIDS menyerang kaum mereka pada tahun 1980-an. Makalah ini membahas pengaruh HIV-AIDS pada kehidupan kaum gay sebagai individu, di komunitas mereka, dan di kehidupan masyarakat yang lebih luas. Makalah ini secara khusus membahas dampak wabah AIDS di komunitas gay pada film The Normal Heart. Dengan menggunakan beberapa pendekeran seperti representasi film dan konsep identitas Stuart Hall, hasil menunjukan bahwa fakta wabah AIDS merubah kehidupan kaum gay dan komunitas gay dengan kehidupan masyarkat luas dalam hal yang positif.

Gays have been experienced some unpleasant experiences since their sexual attraction that was considered as a deviant act by the society. It was compounded when HIV-AIDS attacked them in the 1980s. This paper examines the effects of HIV-AIDS on gays? life as an individual, in the community, and in the larger society. It is particularly focusing on the impacts of the AIDS outbreak in the gay community in the movie The Normal Heart. By using some approaches such as movie representation and identity concept by Stuart Hall, the result of the paper shows the fact that AIDS outbreak changed the life of gays and forever changed the gay community and its relationship with larger society in positive ways."

"Tema LGBT, khususnya gay atau boys love, marak diangkat untuk drama serta film Korea Selatan akhir-akhir ini. Beberapa di antaranya mengisahkan perjuangan kaum gay untuk bisa hidup bebas menunjukkan identitas mereka serta terhindar dari stigma negatif dan diskriminasi yang dilayangkan oleh masyarakat. Piteopaenui Kkum dipilih oleh penulis sebagai film yang mewakili representasi identitas kaum gay di Korea Selatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan representasi identitas gay dalam film Piteopaenui Kkum. Identitas kaum gay yang terdapat dalam film Piteopaenui Kkum diperoleh dengan menggunakan semiotika model John Fiske melalui metode analisis deskriptif. Penulis menganalisis para tokoh dalam film dengan menggunakan teori penokohan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa film pendek Piteopaenui Kkum merepresentasikan identitas kaum gay yang sulit mengekspresikan diri, mengalami perundungan secara fisik dan verbal, dan mendapat label stereotip yang cenderung buruk sehingga pada akhirnya kedua tokoh utama ini menyerah pada keadaan dengan mengorbankan hubungan mereka.

LGBT themes, especially gay or boys love, have been widely used in South Korean dramas and films recently. Some of them tell the story of the struggle of gay people to be able to live freely, show their identity and avoid negative stigma and discrimination posted by the community. Piteopaenui Kkum was chosen by the writer as a film that represents the representation of gay identity in South Korea. The purpose of this study is to describe the representation of gay identity in the film Piteopaenui Kkum. The identity of the gay people in the film Piteopaenui Kkum is obtained by using the semiotic model of John Fiske through descriptive analysis method. The author analyzes the characters in the film by using the theory of characterization. The results show that the short film Piteopaenui Kkum represents the identity of gay people who find it difficult to express themselves, experience physical and verbal abuse, and get stereotyped labels that tend to be bad so that in the end these two main characters give up on the situation at the expense of their relationship."

"Skripsi ini membahas proses tumbuhnya cinta dalam film Indonesia yang berjudul Heart dan Daisy yang merupakan film Korea. Proses tumbuhnya cinta yang dibahas merupakan cinta segitiga yang terjalin pada tiga tokoh utama masing- masing film. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode analisis deskriptif dan pendekatan psikologi sastra untuk mengetahui sisi psikologi tokoh yang sangat berperan besar dalam proses tumbuh kembangnya cinta dalam cerita kedua film ini. Hasil studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa kedua film yang sama-sama mengangkat tema cinta segitiga dengan penyajian yang mirip ini tidak ada hubungan saling mempengaruhi karena rasa cinta bersifat universal, bisa dialami siapa saja dan kapan saja.

This research discusses the emerging process of love in Indonesian movie entitled Heart and Korean movie entitled Daisy. The discussed love process is considered as love triangle involving the three main characters in each movie. This research uses descriptive analysis method and literary psychology approach to observe the psychological side of the characters whose role are very important in the emerging process of love in each story. The result of the research shows that the two movies, of which love triangle becomes the main theme, are not related and have no influence to one another. It is because the feeling of love is universal; love can be felt by anyone and it can emerge anytime."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh pemaknaan di balik kompleksitas kejahatan yang terdapat dalam naratif superhero pada film The Dark Knight. Pembahasan menggunakan teori sintagmatik paradigmatik, teori kepribadian Jung dan teori monomyth Campbell. Upaya Joker dalam membuka identitas Batman dijadikan wacana untuk mengungkap ambivalensi heroik yang dilakukan oleh Batman.

The analysis uses syntagmatic paradigmatic theory, Jung's personality theory and Campbell?s monomyth theory. Joker's efforts in unmasking the Batman are used as a discourse to unveil the heroic ambivalence done by Batman."

"Skripsi ini membahas proses membuka diri gay di lingkungan sosial. Proses membuka diri dilihat dari perkembangan orientasi seksual individu sebagai gay hingga strategi mereka dalam mempertahankan diri di lingkungan sosial heteroseksual. Analisa hasil penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan konsep orientasi seksual dan homoseksualitas, relasi agen dan struktur oleh Anthony Giddens, serta konsep proses membuka diri oleh Troiden. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Jakarta menggunakan metode kualitatif (studi kasus).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses membuka diri gay berbeda-beda berdasarkan kondisi lingkungan sosial mereka serta pemaknaan individu atas proses membuka diri. Dua informan telah menyatakan dirinya sebagai seorang homoseksual kepada lingkungan heteroseksual, sedangkan satu informan hanya kepada komunitas homoseksualnya.

This thesis discusses the process of coming out among gays in social environment. Coming out process is seen from the development of sexual orientation as a gay individual to their strategy in defending themselves in a social environment heterosexual. Analysis of the results of research carried out by using the concept of sexual orientation and homosexuality, relations agency and structure by Anthony Giddens, and the concept of the process of coming out by Troiden. The research was conducted in Jakarta using qualitative methods (case study).

The results showed that the process of opening up a gay vary by their social environment and the individual meaning to coming out the process. Two informants had declared themself as homosexuals to a non-homosexual community, while one informant only declared to his homosexual community."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana Terapi Kognitif- Perilaku dapat menurunkan tingkat depresi pada Gay Dewasa-Muda yang Belum Coming Out. Teknik-teknik Terapi Kognitif-Perilaku seperti psikoedukasi, restrukturisasi kognitif, jadwal aktivitas harian, relaksasi, jurnal pantau pemikiran, dan tugas rumah digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan terapi. Rancangan kuasi eksperimen dengan pola nonequivalent control group design dipilih peneliti sebagai metode penelitian dengan one group pretestposttest design. Pengukuran kuantitatif dilakukan dengan menggunakan The Center of Epidemiological Studies-Depression Scale (CES-D), Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) dan Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) di awal dan akhir asesmen. Pengukuran dilakukan kepada tiga orang partisipan yang sebelumnya telah disasar dengan menggunakan alat ukur The Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI II). Selanjutnya, observasi dan wawancara merupakan metode kualitatif yang digunakan untuk memperkuat gambaran hasil terapi. Teknik psikoedukasi dan relaksasi merupakan dua teknik yang paling bermanfaat dalam menurunkan tingkat depresi partisipan. Berdasarkan hasil penghitungan skor di awal dan akhir asesmen terdapat penurunan tingkat depresi yang signifikan. Pada alat ukur CES-D dan SDS terdapat penurunan tingkat depresi dua partisipan yang semula berada di taraf sedang dan satu di taraf tinggi, menjadi tidak terdapat indikasi depresi klinis pada ketiga partisipan. Sedangkan melalui alat ukur SAS yang mengukur kecemasan juga menunjukkan penurunan tingkat kecemasan hingga tidak terdapat indikasi kecemasan klinis pada tiga partisipan.

This research aims to know how far the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy lowering the level of depression in Young Adults Gay Who Has Not Coming Out. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy techniques such as psychoeducation, cognitive restructurization, daily activities schedule, relaxation, mind observed journal, and homework used in order to achieve the goals of therapy. The quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design selected by researcher as a research methods with one group pretestposttest design. Quantitative measurement conducted by using The Center of Epidemiological Studies-Depression Scale (CES-D), Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) at the beginning and the end of the assessment. The measurement is carried out to the three participants who assessed previously with The Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI II). Furthermore, observation and interview are qualitative methods used to support the results. Psychoeducation and relaxation techniques are two of the most useful techniques in decreasing levels of depression in participants. Based on the results of the calculation of the score at the beginning and end of the assessment, there is a significant decrease in the level of depression. The result score for CES-D and SDS show decreased levels of depression for two participants who were originally located on moderate level and one participant at the severe level of depression, showing that there is no indication of clinical depression in all three participants. While SAS that measure anxiety also showed a decrease in anxiety levels becoming there is no indication of clinical anxiety on three participants."

"ABSTRAKDi saat Amerika, dengan segala hal tentang sistem sosial, ekonomi, dan politik yang digunakan guna memperjuangkan apa yang warganya sebut ldquo;Mimpi Amerika, rdquo; isu kekerasan justru terus bergulir semkain deras setiap waktunya. The Purge: Election Year 2016 hadir dengan sebuah ide tentang memberikan satu hari untuk setiap warga negara untuk melakukan kekerasan, guna menangkal mereka untuk melakukan kekerasan di kehidupan sehari-hari. Dengan menggunakan teori tentang kekerasan yang Zizek 2008 jabarkan menjadi tiga:subjektif, objektif, dan juga sistemik, makalah ini ingin menganalisa hubungan antara kekerasan dan juga kapitalisme pada film ini. Tesis dari makalah ini adalah bahwa film ini menunjukan koneksi antara kekerasan dan kapitalisme, yang mana sulit terlihat pada kehidupan sehari-hari namun bisa terlihat jelas pada adegan dan dialog yang dibungkus dalam kerangka dystopia.

ABSTRACTWhile America, with all of its whole idea of politic, economic, and social system to pursue what they call as ldquo American Dream, rdquo the issue of violence goes wilder time by time. The Purge Election Year 2016 comes up with an idea of giving a day for people to use violence, to counter the use of violence in everyday life. By using the violence theory that Zizek divides into three subjective, objective, and systemic, this paper wants to analyze the connection between violence and capitalism in the movie. The thesis is that the movie conveys the connection between violence and capitalism, which we aren rsquo t be able to see in our real lives, yet it can be seen clearly in the scenes and dialogues wrapped in dystopian imagining."
