"This book demonstrates that effective management of supply disruptions necessitates both strategic and tactical measures. The former involving optimal design of supply networks, the latter involving inventory, finance and demand management. It shows that managers ought to use all available levers at their disposal throughout the supply network, like sourcing and pricing strategies, providing financial subsidies, encouraging information sharing and incentive alignment between supply chain partners, in order to tackle supply disruptions. The editors combine up-to-date academic research with the latest operational risk management practices used in industry to demonstrate how theoreticians and practitioners can learn from each other."

"Supply chain risk management is an issue that many companies face and yet few companies know how to deal with it in a systematic and pragmatic manner. While avoiding and reducing supply chain risks are certainly preferable, developing ways to restore and stabilize supply chain operations rapidly after a major disruption is critical for managing global supply chains. Sodhi and Tang present important concepts, frameworks, strategies, and analyses that are essential for managing supply chain risks. Not only does this book suggest some practical ways to work with different partners to manage the risks that are present in a global supply chain, it creates a framework that would enable practitioners to engage researchers to work on this important area."

"This book is organized into five chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the topic, offers a timely review of various related areas, and explains why the MR approach is important for conducting supply chain risk analysis. Chapter 2 examines the single period inventory model with the mean-variance and mean-semi-deviation approaches. Extensive discussions on the efficient frontiers are also reported. Chapter 3 explores the infinite horizon multi-period inventory model with a mean-variance approach. Chapter 4 investigates the supply chain coordination problem with a versatile target sales rebate contract and a risk averse retailer possessing the mean-variance optimization objective. Chapter 5 concludes the book and discusses various promising future research directions and extensions. Every chapter can be taken as a self-contained article, and the notation within each chapter is consistently employed."

"This work encapsulates the essential developments in this field into a single resource, as well as to set an agenda for further development in the field. This brief focuses on the demand flexibility in supply chains with fragmented results distributed throughout the literature. These results have strong implications for managing real-world complex operations planning problems.
This book exploits dimensions of demand flexibility in supply chains and characterizes the best fit between demand properties and operations capabilities and constraints. The origins and seminal works are traced in integrated demand and operations planning and an in-depth documentation is provided for the current state of the art. Systems with inherent costs and constraints that must respond to some set of demands at a minimum cost are examined. Crucial unanswered questions are explored and the high-value research directions are highlighted for both practice and for the development of new and interesting optimization models and algorithms."

"This book covers the scope of supply chain and logistics, which has continued to grow with a rapid speed. The book includes core aspects of supply chain and logistics philosophy and practice. The authors then cover the general principles of supply chain and logistics that can be applied in countries throughout the world. Where concepts cannot be generalized, they are based primarily on a European model. The authors have also added some international material and examples from China, Pakistan, India, and the USA. The book is intended to help in the quest of supply chain and logistics to reduce cost and improve service, as well as to keep up-to-date the different facets of supply chain and logistics in a global market. In addition, this book helps candidates to who are undertaking examinations for universities and professional institutes, and bachelor and master students who are studying for degrees in supply chain management. In addition, the book covers technical terminologies, definitions, and a supply chain dictionary."

46% of companies in the world today do not have good integration between the company's supply chain. A new learning tool is meeded that can solve these problems. This research develop a new serious simulation game that models supply chain and marketing aspects of in order to understand integration problem between both aspects. Players will as play the manager of marketing and supply chain and solving the problems in each and between the two fields. Players will learn and apply the concepts of integration between the supply and marketing chan for solving the problem. The results showed that the simulated games or successfully teach the concepts of integration between supply chain to marketing."
