"Artikel ini membahas mengenai representasi imigran Turki dalam film “Almanya: Willkommen in Deutschland”. Analisis ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka yang dilakukan secara deskriptif dan argumentatif. Dalam analisis ditunjukkan simbol yang digunakan dalam film untuk menunjukkan identitas budaya tokoh dari berbeda generasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa imigran Turki memiliki beragam identitas budaya karena pengaruh lingkungan tempat mereka berada.

This article discusses about representation of Turkish immigrants’ cultural identity in the film “Almanya: Willkommen in Deutschland”. The research used qualitative descriptive method based on literature study. The symbols that are used in the film show various cultural identities which are represented by different immigrant generations. The result of the research proves that cultural identity is a process of becoming than a fixed substance. It is not determined by the place we live."

"Dalam era globalisasi saat ini, praktik penerjemahan berita berpengaruh penting bagi aliran informasi global. Riset ini bertujuan untuk menentukan prosedur, metode, dan ideologi penerjemahan yang diaplikasikan dalam penerjemahan artikel-artikel berita dari Bahasa Inggris ke Bahasa Indonesia yang dipublikasikan oleh kantor berita Republika mengenai konflik Kurdi–Turki. Tiga pasang teks sumber dan teks sasaran yang dipublikasi pada tahun 2022 mengenai pengeboman di Istanbul dipilih sebagai korpus riset ini. Metode yang digunakan untuk melaksanakan riset ini adalah analisis kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil riset menunjukkan bahwa prosedur penerjemahan seperti modulasi sudut pandang dan cakupan makna, padanan kultural, substitusi, penerjemahan metafora, implisitasi, penambahan, penghapusan, penerjemahan kalke, dan transferensi diaplikasikan dalam penerjemahan tersebut. Metode penerjemahan yang paling dominan dalam korpus adalah metode penerjemahan semanitk, sementara metode-metode lain seperti penerjemahan bebas, setia, dan literal lebih jarang digunakan. Terakhir, disimpulkan bahwa ideologi pengasingan adalah ideologi penerjemahan yang dominan dalam korpus ini, meskipun ideologi domestikasi juga diimplementasikan dalam porsi yang terbatas.

In our increasingly globalized era, the practice of news translation is essential to the global flow of information. This research intends to determine the translation procedures, methods, and ideologies applied in translated news articles from English to Indonesian published by the Indonesian news agency Republika about the Kurdish–Turkish conflict. Three pairs of source and target articles published in 2022 about a bombing in Istanbul were selected as this research’s corpora. The method conducted for this research was descriptive qualitative analysis. Results indicate that translation procedures such as point of view and scope of meaning modulation, cultural equivalent, substitution, metaphor translation, implicitation, addition, deletion, calque translation, and transference have been applied in the translation of said articles. The most prevalent translation method in the corpora is semantic translation method, while other methods such as free translation, faithful translation, and literal translation methods are less common. Lastly, it has been concluded that foreignization is the dominant translation ideology for the corpora, even though domestication was also implemented in limited portions."
