Introduction: Student engagement is student involvement in the learning process, in academic and non-academic activities as seen from behavior, emotion and cognitive skills. The instrument to measure student engagement has never been validated in the context of medical education in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to test the validation of the Indonesian adaptation of National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) questionnaire. Method: This is a cross-sectional study, consists of 3 phases: translation, content validation by panel of experts and testing the questionnaire on non-respondent students. The study involved 260 respondents from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd academic year students (May to July 2022). The data obtained were then analyzed using SPSS 25 with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). Result: Questionnaire items receive input from a panel of experts with a CVI of 0,91. A total of 260 questionnaires are analysed. The results of the construct validity test revealed that one statement should be omitted. Extraction using Principal Component Analysis and Oblimin Rotation obtained 11 components: 1) High-Level Learning, 2) Integrative Learning, Identification and Feedback Ability during Activities, 3) Learning Strategies and Quantitative Reasoning, 4) Collaborative Learning, 5) Discussions with Diverse People, 6) Student-Faculty Environment Interaction, 7) Effective Teaching Practices and Feedback Post-Activity, and 11) Environmental Support. The alpha coefficient value of questionnaire is very good (0,928). There are differences in score based on gender in reflective learning, discussions with various people and feedback practices components. Based on the level of education, there are differences in consideration of social issues in learning, reflective and collaborative learning components (p < 0,05). Conclusion: The Indonesian adaptation of the NSSE is considered valid and reliable to be applied as an instrument for assessing pre-clinical medical student engagement in Indonesia. There is a change in the distribution of questionnaire items on some components."

"PURPOSE: To identify the possible roles of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) testing after liver resection for synchronous colorectal liver metastasis (CLM).
METHODS: The subjects of this retrospective study were patients who underwent complete resection of primary tumors and synchronous CLM between 1997 and 2007 at 20 institutions in Japan. We studied the associations between perioperative CEA levels and the characteristics of recurrence.
RESULTS: Recurrence was detected during the median follow-up time of 52 months in 445 (73.7%) of the total 604 patients analyzed. A postoperative CEA level >5 ng/ml was an independent predictor, with the highest hazard ratio (2.25, 95% confidence interval 1.29-3.91, P = 0.004). A postoperative CEA level >5 ng/ml had a specificity of 86.2% and a positive predictive value of 84.2% for recurrence. Patients with a high postoperative CEA level had a significantly higher recurrence rate, with a shorter time until recurrence and a higher frequency of multiple metastatic sites than those with a low postoperative CEA level. Among the patients with recurrence, 173 (52.7%) had an elevated CEA level (>5 ng/ml) when recurrence was detected.
CONCLUSIONS: A postoperative CEA level >5 ng/ml was an independent predictor of recurrence; however, CEA testing was not a reliable surveillance tool to identity recurrence after liver resection."

"The book serves as a unique integrated platform, which not only describes the design methodology of electro-hydraulic actuation systems but also provides insights into the design of the servo valve, which is the most important component in the system. It presents a step-by-step design process, comparative tables, illustrative figures, and detailed explanations. The book focuses on the design and testing of electro-hydraulic actuation systems, which are increasingly being used in motion control applications, particularly in those where precision actuation at high operational rates is of prime importance. It describes in detail the design philosophy of such high-performance systems, presenting a system used as a physical test setup together with experimental results to corroborate the calculations. Of particular interest are the electro-hydraulic servo valves that form the heart of these actuations. These valves are complex and not much data is available in open literature due to OEM propriety issues. In this context, the book discusses the elaborate mathematical models that have been derived and an approach to validate the mathematical models with test results. Presenting the complex methodology in simple language, it will prove to be a valuable resource for students, researchers, and professional engineers alike."

"Komponen utama produk A adalah bakteri fotosintetik.

Main component of product A is photosynthetic bacteria. One of the major difficulty that arise in the production process is the slow fermentation rate, which resulting in the high production cost. One of the suggested way to handle it is by genetic engeneering. The genetic engineered that taken places in 2012 on PT. X resulted in a higher fermentation rate bacteria.
This research use Value Stream Mapping method and Cost Integrated Value Stream, to analize production process of product A. Current process using non genetic engineered bacteria and proposes process using genetic engineered bacteria.
In this research the result are, total production cost in current process Rp.6.384.655/batch, and total production cost using genetic engineered bacteria Rp.4.119.867/batch. From the result there is a declining production cost of Rp.2.264.788/batch or 35% from the proposes process compared to the current process.
