"Tujuan penelitian cross sectional ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan asupan asam lemak omega-3 dengan kadar hs-CRP pada pasien Psoriasis vulgaris. Penelitian dilakukan di Yayasan Peduli Psoriasis Indonesia, mulai November 2014 sampai April 2015. Sejumlah 52 pasien yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian dipilih menjadi subjek penelitian. Subjek diwawancara, menjalani pemeriksaan antropometri dan kadar hs-CRP. Data asupan asam lemak omega-3, EPA dan DHA diperoleh dengan metode food frequency questionnaire, dan food recall 3 x 24 jam.
Nilai rerata usia subjek adalah 41,9 ± 9,21 tahun. Jumlah subjek laki-laki 57,7% dan wanita, 42,3%. Sebanyak 38,5% subjek status gizinya normal dan 61,5% berat badan lebih. Asupan energi cukup terdapat pada 82,7% subjek, sedangkan 17,3% subjek asupan energinya kurang. Subjek dengan asupan asam lemak omega-3 cukup ada 65,4%, sedangkan 34,6% subjek asupannya kurang. Sebanyak 86,5% subjek asupan EPA dan DHAnya cukup dan 13,5% kurang.
Hasil kadar hs-CRP serum yaitu 9,6% subjek kadarnya >10 mg/L, 57,7% subjek kadarnya 1-10 mg/L dan 32,7% subjek kadarnya <1 mg/L. Hasil uji korelasi rank Spearman antara asupan asam lemak omega-3 dengan kadar hs-CRP memperlihatkan korelasi negatif lemah bermakna (r = - 0,394 dan p = 0,004). Korelasi asupan EPA dan DHA dengan kadar hs-CRP adalah negatif sedang bermakna (r = - 0,499 dan p = 0,000). Asupan asam lemak omega-3 terutama dalam bentuk EPA dan DHA dapat menurunkan kadar hs-CRP pada pasien Psoriasis.

The aim of this cross sectional study is to find out the relationship between dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids and hs-CRP level in patient with Psoriasis vulgaris. This study was conducted from November 2014 to April 2015, at Yayasan Peduli Psoriasis Indonesia. As all the criterias were succeeded, 52 patients were recruited. Data were collected by interview, anthropometric's measurement, and laboratory examination. Dietary intake data of omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA were determined by using food frequencies questionnaire, and food recall 3 x 24 hours method.
Mean value of subjects' age was 41.9 ± 9.21 years. The subjects consisted of 57.7% men and of 42.3% women. Nutritional status of 38.5% subjects was normal and of 61.5% was overweight. An adequate amount of energy intake was found in 82.7% subjects whereas 17.3% was inadequate. Dietary intake of omega- 3 fatty acids was adequate in 65.4% subjects whereas in 34.6% was inadequate. Dietary intake of EPA and DHA in 86.5% subjects was adequate, while in 13.5% subjects, inadequate.
The result of hs-CRP >10 mg/L was found in 9.6% subjects, 1-10 mg/L in 57.7% and <1 mg/L in 32.7% subjects. Rank Spearman correlation test of dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids and hs-CRP level showed weak negative significant result (r = - 0.394 and p = 0.004). The result of EPA and DHA with hs-CRP level was fair negative significant (r = - 0.499 and p = 0.000). Thus, it can be concluded that dietary omega-3 fatty acids in the form of EPA and DHA might lessen hs-CRP level in Psoriasis patient.

"Psoriasis vulgaris merupakan penyakit inflamasi kronik kulit yang didasari oleh proses imunologi. Derajat keparahan psoriasis vulgaris dinilai secara klinis dengan penilaian body surface area (BSA) dan psoriasis area and severity index (PASI). Inflamasi kulit pada psoriasis vulgaris diperankan oleh berbagai sitokin inflamasi yang dapat meningkatkan inflamasi sistemik dan aktivasi trombosit. High sensitivity c-reactive protein (hs-CRP) sebagai penanda inflamasi sistemik serta mean platelet volume (MPV) sebagai penanda aktivasi trombosit diduga dapat dijadikan prediktor derajat keparahan psoriasis vulgaris. Penelitian ini berdesain observasional analitik potong lintang. Setiap subjek penelitian (SP) dengan psoriasis vulgaris yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dilakukan anamnesis, pemeriksaan fisik, dan perhitungan derajat keparahan psoriasis vulgaris dengan PASI dan BSA. Selanjutnya, dilakukan pemeriksaan kadar hs-CRP dan MPV. Dari 32 SP, didapatkan korelasi positif tidak bermakna antara hs-CRP dengan BSA (r=0,118; p=0,518) dan PASI (r=0,322; p=0,073). Korelasi negatif tidak bermakna ditunjukkan antara MPV terhadap BSA (r=-0,035; p=0,848)dan PASI (r=-0,035; p=0,848). Korelasi antara hs-CRP dengan MPV tidak bermakna (r=-0,178; p=0,329). Nilai hs-CRP dan MPV tidak memiliki korelasi bermakna terhadap PASI dan BSA sehingga tidak dapat digunakan sebagai prediktor yang spesifik untuk keparahan psoriasis vulgaris.

Psoriasis vulgaris is a chronic immunologic inflammatory skin disease. The severity of psoriasis vulgaris is clinically-assessed by using body surface area (BSA) and the psoriasis area and severity index (PASI). Skin inflammation in psoriasis vulgaris is played by various inflammatory cytokines that can perpetuate systemic inflammation and platelet activation. High sensitivity c-reactive protein (hs-CRP) as a marker of systemic inflammation and mean platelet volume (MPV) as a marker of platelet activation are thought to be predictors of psoriasis vulgaris severity.
This is a cross-sectional analytic observational study. Each subject with psoriasis vulgaris who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria underwent anamnesis, physical examination, and assessment of PASI and BSA, then examined for hs-CRP and MPV levels.
Among the 32 subjects, a weak insignificant positive correlation was found between hs-CRP and BSA (r=0.118; p=0.518)and PASI (r=0.322; p=0.073). A weak negative insignificant correlation was shown between MPV and BSA (r=-0.035; p=0.848) and PASI (r=-0.035; p=0.848). No significant correlation was found between hs-CRP and MPV (r=-0.178; p=0.329
The hs-CRP and MPV levels ​​do not have a significant correlation with PASI and BSA, therefore cannot be used as specific predictors of psoriasis vulgaris severity.

Penurunan massa otot pada usia lanjut menimbulkan sarkopenia,salah satu penyebabnya adalah proses inflamasi. Rasio asam lemak omega-3/omega-6 dapat memengaruhi proses inflamasi, namun hubungannya dengan massa otot masih menunjukkan hasil yang beragam. Penelitian potong lintang ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi korelasi rasio asupan asam lemak omega-3/omega-6 dan kadar asam lemak omega-3 dengan massa otot pada usia lanjut di lima panti wreda yang terdaftar di Kota Tangerang Selatan. Penelitian ini melibatkan 101 usila yang didapatkan menggunakan proportional random sampling. Rasio asupan asam lemak omega-3 dan omega-6 dinilai menggunakan food record 3x24 jam dan food frequency questionnaire semikuantitatif, kadar asam lemak omega-3 membran eritrosit diukur menggunakan gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, dan pemeriksaan massa otot menggunakan bioelectrical impedance analysis. Analisis korelasi menggunakan uji Spearman. Didapatkan rerata usia subjek adalah 75.5 ± 7.6 tahun dengan 73.3% subjek adalah perempuan. Rasio asupan asam lemak omega-3/omega-6 subjek menggunakan food record adalah 0,09 (0,05-0,22) dan 0,08 (0,05-0,23) menggunakan FFQ semikuantitatif. Nilai tengah kadar asam lemak omega-3 membran eritrosit subjek untuk ALA=10,06 (4,9-24,9) µg/mL, EPA=14,6 (5,06-81,02) µg/mL, DHA=115,5 (20,6-275,09) µg/mL, dan total omega-3=144,1 (89,3-332,1) µg/mL. Nilai tengah massa otot subjek adalah 35,5 (22,8-63,5) kg. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tidak terdapat korelasi antara rasio asupan asam lemak omega-3/omega-6 dengan massa otot baik menggunakan food record (r = -0.2, p = 0.07), maupun FFQ semikuantitatif (r = 0.01, p = 0.9), dan tidak terdapat korelasi antara kadar ALA, EPA, DHA, total asam lemak omega-3 membran eritrosit dengan massa otot berturut-turut (r = -0.03, p = 0.8; r = 0.01, p = 0.9; r = -0.06, p = 0.5; dan r = -0.02, p = 0.8).


The phenomenon of muscle mass deterioration appeared in the elderly called sarcopenia, one of the reasons was the inflammatory process. The ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are known to influence the inflammatory process. However, the relationship of this ratio with muscle mass are still conflicting. This cross-sectional study aimed to explore the correlations of omega-3/omega-6 fatty acids intake ratio and omega-3 fatty acids erythrocyte membrane levels with muscle mass among the elderly in five registered nursing homes in South Tangerang City. This study involved 101 elderly from the proportional random sampling method. The ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids intake was assessed using 3-days food records and semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SQ-FFQ). Moreover, omega-3 fatty acid erythrocyte membrane levels were measured using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and muscle mass were examined using bioelectrical impedance analysis. We used Spearman analysis to investigate the correlation. The mean age of the participants was 75.5 ± 7.6 years and most of the participants were female (73.3%). Furthermore, the median value of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acid intake ratio was 0.09 (0.05 – 0.22) using 3-days food records and 0.08 (0.05 – 0.23) using SQ-FFQ, the median value of omega-3 erythrocyte membrane levels for ALA = 10.06 (4.9-24.9) µg/mL, EPA = 14.6 (5.06 – 81.02) µg/mL, DHA = 115.5 (20.6 – 275.09) µg/mL, total omega-3 = 144.1 (89.3 – 332.1) µg/mL, and the median value of muscle mass were 35.5 (22.8 – 63.5) kg. We did not find strong correlation between omega-3/omega-6 fatty acids intake ratio and muscle mass using either 3-days food records (r = -0.2, p = 0.07), or SQ-FFQ (r = 0.01, p = 0.9), and no strong correlations found between ALA, EPA, DHA, total omega-3 fatty acids erythrocyte membrane levels and muscle mass (r = -0.03, p = 0.8; r = 0.01, p = 0.9; r = -0.06, p = 0.5; and r = -0.02, p = 0.8), respectively.

Latar Belakang : Inflamasi kronik berhubungan dengan tumor dan menyebabkan prognosis yang buruk pada pasien kanker. Salah satu penanda inflamasi yang meningkat pada tumor adalah C-Reactive Protein (CRP). Kadar CRP meningkat pada lebih dari 50% pasien keganasan. Peningkatan CRP berhubungan kuat dengan keparahan penyakit pada beberapa kanker. Salah satu zat gizi dalam inflamasi adalah asam lemak omega-3. Asam lemak omega-3 dapat meningkatkan pembentukan specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPM) yang berfungsi meningkatkan mediator antiinflamasi, melindungi blood brain barrier, menurunkan sitokin proinflamasi, menurunkan apoptosis neuron. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai hubungan asupan asam lemak omega-3 dengan CRP pada pasien tumor sistem saraf pusat.
Metode : Studi potong lintang ini dilakukan pada subjek berusia 18-65 tahun di RSUPN Cipto Mangunkusumo pada bulan November hingga Desember 2023. Pengukuran CRP menggunakan metode immunoturbidimetric assay. Pengambilan asupan asam lemak omega-3 menggunakan Food Frequency Questionnaires semikuantitatif. Analisis bivariat digunakan untuk menilai hubungan antara variabel bebas dan terikat.
Hasil : Dari total 63 subjek penelitian, sebanyak 35 subjek (55,6%) pada kelompok asupan asam lemak omega-3 < 2 g/hari dan 28 subjek (44,4%) pada kelompok asupan asam lemak omega-3 ≥ 2 g/hari. Nilai median CRP 8,3 (0,6 – 71,5) mg/L. Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna (p = 0,714) antara asupan asam lemak omega-3 dengan CRP pada pasien tumor sistem saraf pusat.
Kesimpulan : Tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara asupan asam lemak omega-3 dengan CRP pada pasien tumor sistem saraf pusat.

Background: Chronic inflammation is associated with tumors and causes poor prognosis in tumor patients. One of the inflammatory markers that increase in tumors is C-Reactive Protein (CRP). CRP levels are elevated in more than 50% of patients with malignancies. Elevated CRP is associated with disease severity in some cancers. One of the nutrients in inflammation is omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids can increase the formation of specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPM) which function to increase anti-inflammatory mediators, protect the blood brain barrier, reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines, reduce neuron apoptosis. This study aims to assess the relationship between omega-3 fatty acid intake and CRP in patients with central nervous system tumors.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on subjects aged 18-65 years at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital from November to December 2023. CRP measurement using immunoturbidimetric assay method. Omega-3 fatty acid intake was collected using semiquantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire. Bivariate analysis was used to assess the relationship between independent and dependent variables.
Results: From the total 63 research subjects, 35 subjects (55,6%) in the omega-3 fatty acid intake group < 2 g/day and 28 subjects (44,4%) in the omega-3 fatty acid intake group ≥ 2 g/day. The median CRP value was 8.3 (0.6 - 71.5) mg/L. There was no significant relationship (p = 0,714) between omega-3 fatty acid intake and CRP in patients with central nervous system tumors.
Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between omega-3 fatty acid intake and CRP in patients with central nervous system tumors.

"Latar Belakang: Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) merupakan inflamasi muskuloskeletal yang progresif. Psoriasis kuku merupakan faktor prediktor kuat PsA dengan prevalensi mencapai 87%. Skor modified nail psoriasis severity index (mNAPSI) merupakan salah satu penilaian derajat keparahan psoriasis kuku dengan reliabilitas interrater yang baik. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan hubungan antara skor mNAPSI dengan PsA serta kerusakan sendi interfalang distal, sehingga dipikirkan bahwa derajat keparahan kuku dapat dijadikan sebagai penapisan kejadian PsA serta kaitannya dengan aktivitas penyakit PsA.
Tujuan: Menilai hubungan derajat keparahan kuku menggunakan skor mNAPSI dengan kejadian PsA dan korelasi skor mNAPSI dengan derajat keparahan PsA menggunakan skor clinical disease activity for psoriatic arthritis (cDAPSA). Sebagai hasil tambahan, dilakukan penilaian korelasi skor psoriasis area severity index (PASI) dan cDAPSA. Secara deskriptif menilai proporsi kelainan psoriasis kuku secara klinis maupun dermoskopi pada pasien PsA dan tanpa PsA.
Metode: Penelitian observasional analitik. Setiap subyek penelitian (SP) dengan psoriasis kuku yang telah memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dilakukan perhitungan mNAPSI, diagnosis PsA menggunakan classification criteria for psoriatic arthritis (CASPAR), dan menentukan derajat keparahan PsA dengan cDAPSA. Analisis statistik yang sesuai untuk membuktikan hipotesis penelitian. Nilai p <0,05 dianggap signifikan secara statistik.
Hasil: Di antara 34 SP terdapat 15 SP yang mengalami PsA. Hubungan antara skor mNAPSI dengan kejadian PsA dianalisis menggunakan ROC dengan hasil nilai area under ROC curve (AUC) 0,58. Korelasi antara skor mNAPSI dengan cDAPSA adalah 0,217 (p=0,437). Terdapat korelasi positif antara PASI dan cDAPSA (r=0,621; p=0,013). Kelainan kuku terbanyak pada penelitian ini adalah onikolisis (72,6%), leukonikia (19,6%), diikuti dengan oil drop dan crumbling masing-masing 12,8%. Seluruh kelainan kuku lebih mudah dilihat dengan dermoskopi, kecuali pitting dan Beau’s line.
Kesimpulan: Skor mNAPSI memiliki hubungan lemah dengan kejadian PsA, sehingga tidak dapat digunakan sebagai penapisan kejadian PsA. Selain itu, mNAPSI memiliki korelasi lemah dengan cDAPSA, sehingga derajat kerusakan kuku tidak mencerminkan derajat keparahan PsA.

Background: Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a progressive musculoskeletal inflammation. Nail psoriasis is a strong predictor of PsA with a prevalence of 87%. The modified nail psoriasis severity index (mNAPSI) score is an objective score for evaluating the severity of nail psoriasis and has excellent interrater reliability. Several studies have shown a correlation between mNAPSI scores and PsA and distal interphalangeal joint damage, so it is thought that the severity of the nail can be used as a screening for the incidence of PsA.
Objective: This study aims to assess the relationship between nail severity using the mNAPSI score with the incidence of PsA and to assess the correlation between the mNAPSI score with PsA severity using the clinical disease activity for psoriatic arthritis (cDAPSA) score. In addition, the correlation between psoriasis area severity index (PASI) and cDAPSA scores was also carried out as additional results. This study also descriptively assessed the proportion of psoriasis nail abnormalities both clinically and dermoscopy in patients with PsA and without PsA.
Methods: This research is an analytic observational. All research data are recorded in the research status. Each subject met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, calculated the mNAPSI score, diagnosed PsA using the classification criteria for psoriatic arthritis (CASPAR) score, and determined the severity of PsA with the cDAPSA score. Appropriate statistical analysis was performed to prove the research hypothesis. P value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.
Results: Among 34 subject, 15 (44%) experienced PsA. The relationship between the mNAPSI score and the incidence of PsA was analyzed using ROC. Based on this analysis, the area under ROC curve (AUC) value was 0.58. The correlation between mNAPSI and cDAPSA scores was 0.217 (p=0.437). There was a positive correlation between the PASI value and cDAPSA and it was statistically significant (r=0.621; p=0.013). The most common nail abnormalities in this study were onycholysis (72.6%), leukonychia (19.6%), followed by oil drop and crumbling (12.8%). All nail abnormalities are easier to see with dermoscopy, except for pitting and Beau's line.
Conclusion: The mNAPSI score has a weak relationship with the incidence of PsA, so it cannot be used as a screening for the incidence of PsA. In addition, this score also has a weak correlation with the cDAPSA score, so the degree of nail damage does not reflect the severity of PsA.

"Latar belakang: Psoriasis adalah suatu penyakit inflamasi kulit yang kronik, ditandai oleh plak eritematosa dan skuama kasar berlapis, dengan fenomena Koebner dan tanda Auspitz. Salah satu faktor pemicu yang diduga berperan adalah infeksi. Periodontitis merupakan infeksi yang terjadi pada jaringan periodontal dan dapat menjadi fokus infeksi. Penelitian untuk mengetahui proporsi periodontitis pada pasien psoriasis belum pernah dilakukan di Indonesia dan belum ada penelitian yang melaporkan korelasi derajat keparahan psoriasis dengan kedalaman poket periodontal.
Tujuan: Mengetahui proporsi kasus periodontitis pada pasien psoriasis vulgaris dan korelasi antara derajat keparahan psoriasi dengan kedalaman poket periodontal.
Metode: Studi potong lintang ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli-November 2017 di poliklinik Ilmu Kesehatan Kulit dan Kelamin dan poliklinik Gigi dan Mulut Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat Nasional dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara consecutive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 34 pasien. Anamnesis dan pemeriksaan fisis lesi kulit dilakukan oleh peneliti, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pemeriksaan gigi dan mulut oleh dokter gigi spesialis Periodontologi.
Hasil : Didapatkan total 34 subjek dengan median usia 37,5 tahun 19-58 tahun . Subjek terdiri atas 20 pasien 58,8 dengan psoriasis derajat ringan dan 14 pasien 41,2 dengan psoriasis derajat sedang-berat. Hasil didapatkan 16 pasien 47,1 dengan periodontitis dan 18 pasien 52,9 tanpa periodontitis. Periodontitis didapatkan sebanyak 8 pasien 23,53 pada masing-masing kelompok psoriasis derajat ringan dan sedang-berat. Tidak terdapat korelasi yang bermakna secara statistik antara derajat keparahan psoriasis dengan kedalaman poket periodontal r 0,126, p 0,478.
Simpulan: Ditemukan proporsi periodontitis yang cukup tinggi pada pasien psoriasis vulgaris yaitu sebesar 47,1 dan tidak terdapat korelasi yang bermakna secara statistik antara derajat keparahan psoriasis dengan kedalaman poket periodontal. Hasil ini mungkin dikarenakan faktor perancu yang dapat memengaruhi derajat keparahan psoriasis maupun kedalaman poket. Kata kunci: Psoriasis, periodontitis, infeksi.

Background: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease, characterized by erythematous plaques and coarse grained scales, with the Koebner phenomenon and the Auspitz sign. One of the trigger factors that contributes is infection. Periodontitis is an infection that occurs in periodontal tissue and can be focus of infection. A study to determine the proportion of periodontitis in psoriasis patients has never been done in Indonesia and no studies have reported a correlation between psoriasis severity and periodontal pocket depth.
Objective: To determine the proportion of periodontitis in patients with psoriasis vulgaris and the correlation between psoriasis severity and periodontal pocket depth.
Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted in July November 2017 in Dermatovenereology clinics of dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National General Hospital. The sample selection was done consecutive sampling with total sample of 34 patients. Anamnesis and physical examination of skin lesions were done by investigator, then dental and oral examination were done by periodontist.
Results: Total of 34 subjects were enrolled with median age of 37.5 years 19 58 years old. The subjects consisted of 20 patients 58.8 with mild psoriasis and 14 patients 41.2 with moderate severe psoriasis. The results showed that 16 patients 47.1 with periodontitis and 18 patients 52.9 without periodontitis. Periodontitis was found in 8 patients 23.53 in each group of mild and moderate severe psoriasis. There was no statistically significant correlation between psoriasis severity and periodontal pocket depth r 0.126, p 0.478 .
Conclusion: The high proportion of periodontitis was found in patients with psoriasis vulgaris 47.1 and there was no statistically significant correlation between psoriasis severity and periodontal pocket depth. The results may be due to counfounding factors that affect both psoriasis severity and pocket depth. Keywords Psoriasis, periodontitis, infection

"Latar belakang: prolaktin adalah salah satu hormon yang segera meningkat pada keadaan stres fisis dan psikoemosional yang juga berperan sebagai neuroendokrin pada pertumbuhan sel epitel dan sistem imun kulit. Prolaktin adalah prototype mediator neuroendokrin terhadap stres. Eksaserbasi psoriasis seringkali dipicu oleh stres psikoemosional. Hal ini menimbulkan pertanyaan, apakah efek stres pada psoriasis berhubungan dengan perubahan kadar prolaktin serum. Penulis meneliti korelasi antara kadar prolaktin serum dengan derajat keparahan psoriasis vulgaris pada pasien laki-laki, yang diukur dengan metode psoriasis area severity index (PASI) dan luas permukaan tubuh (body surface area, BSA).
Metode: penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan potong lintang pada 41 pasien psoriasis vulgaris laki-laki. Kadar prolaktin serum diukur dengan metode electrochemiluminescence immunoassay dan dikorelasikan dengan derajat keparahan psoriasis.
Hasil: tidak ada korelasi antara kadar prolaktin serum dengan PASI (korelasi Spearman, p>0,05) dan BSA (korelasi Spearman, p>0,05).
Kesimpulan: terdapat korelasi positif yang tidak signifikan secara statistik antara kadar prolaktin serum dengan derajat keparahan psoriasis yang diukur dengan PASI dan BSA pada pasien laki-laki.

Background: prolactin is one of the hormones that immediately raises at the state of physical and psychoemotional stress. It also acts as neuroendocrine in growth of epithelial cells and skin immune system. Prolactin is the prototype of neuroendocrine mediator of stress. The exacerbation of psoriasis is often caused by psychoemotional stress. It has been questionable whether stress effect in psoriasis correlates with changes in serum prolactin levels. The authors investigated the correlation between serum prolactin levels and the severity of psoriasis vulgaris in male patients, measured by psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) and body surface area (BSA).
Method: we performed a cross-sectional study in 41 male patients with psoriasis vulgaris. The serum prolactin levels were measured by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay and were correlated with the severity of psoriasis vulgaris (PASI and BSA).
Result: There was no correlation between serum prolactin levels and PASI (Spearman's correlation, p>0,05) and BSA (Spearman’s correlation, p>0,05).
Conclusion: there was positive correlation, but not statistically significant, between serum prolactin levels and severity of psoriasis vulgaris measured by PASI and BSA in male psoriasis subjects.

"Resistensi insulin adalah penurunan kemampuan jaringan (otot, hati, dan jaringan adiposa) untuk merespon insulin yang bersirkulasi secara normal dalam darah yang berisiko berkembang menjadi penyakit diabetes melitus tipe 2. Rasio tinggi asupan asam lemak omega-6/omega-3 diduga berperan dalam menurunkan sensitivitas insulin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara rasio asupan omega-6/omega-3 dan HOMA-IR pada perempuan usia reproduktif. Studi potong lintang ini dilakukan di Jakarta, pada bulan Juli sampai Oktober 2021. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode consecutive sampling dan diperoleh 79 subjek perempuan yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara 24-hours food recall sebanyak 3 kali, pengukuran antropometri untuk menilai status gizi, dan pengambilan serum untuk mengukur kadar glukosa darah puasa dan insulin. Rerata asupan omega-6 pada subjek adalah 9.43 ± 3.69 gram/hari, median asupan omega-3 pada subjek adalah 0.79 (0.23–3.53) gram/hari, dan rerata rasio asupan omega-6/omega-3 adalah 12.32 ± 4.32. Rerata HOMA-IR pada subjek adalah 3.04 ± 1.24. Terdapat korelasi positif lemah antara rasio asupan omega-6/omega-3 dan HOMA-IR, namun tidak signifikan (r=0.161, p=0.157). Ditemukan hubungan signifikan antara DHA dan HOMA-IR setelah mengontrol faktor perancu (p=0.014). Tidak ada hubungan antara rasio asupan asam lemak omega-6/omega-3 dan HOMA-IR pada perempuan usia reproduktif. Namun, ditemukan hubungan antara asupan DHA dan HOMA-IR yang menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan asupan asam lemak tidak jenuh dapat mencegah terjadinya resistensi insulin.

Insulin resistance is a decrease in the ability of tissues (muscle, liver, and adipose tissue) to respond to insulin that circulates normally in the blood which is at risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus. A high ratio of omega-6/omega-3 fatty acid intake is thought to play a role in reducing insulin sensitivity. This study aims to determine the association between the ratio of omega-6/omega-3 intake and HOMA-IR in reproductive-aged women. This cross-sectional study was conducted in Jakarta, from July to October 2021. Sampling used the consecutive sampling method and obtained 79 women subjects who met the research criteria. Data was collected through 24-hour food recall interviews 3 times, anthropometric measurements to assess nutritional status, and serum sampling to measure fasting blood glucose and insulin levels. The mean omega-6 intake in the subjects was 9.43 ± 3.69 grams/day, the median omega-3 intake in the subjects was 0.79 (0.23–3.53) grams/day, and the mean ratio of omega-6/omega-3 intake was 12.32 ± 4.32. The mean HOMA-IR in the subjects was 3.04 ± 1.24. There was weak positive correlation between the ratio of omega-6/omega-3 intake and HOMA-IR, but not significant (r=0.161, p=0.157). A significant relationship was found between DHA and HOMA-IR after adjusted confounding factors (p=0.014). There was no association between the ratio of omega-6/omega-3 fatty acid intake and HOMA-IR in reproductive-aged women. However, it was found that there was a assocation between DHA intake and HOMA-IR which indicated that increasing intake of unsaturated fatty acids could prevent insulin resistance"

"Latar Belakang. Indeks Glikemik (IG) diketahui berhubungan dengan kejadian penyakit kardiovaskular, semakin tinggi IG semakin tinggi kejadian penyakit kardiovaskular. Highly Sensitivity-CRP (hs-CRP) merupakan pemeriksaan yang digunakan untuk menilai faktor risiko PIK. Semakin tinggi hs-CRP semakin besar risiko terjadinya Acute heart Disease. Indeks Glikemik diketahui berhubungan positif dengan hs-CRP. Saat ini di Indonesia belum ada penelitian yang menghubungkan IG, hs-CRP dan PIK.
Tujuan. Diketahuinya nilai dan rerata IG dan hs-CRP pada penderita PIK, serta melihat ada tidaknya korelasi antara IG, hs-CRP dan pada penderita PJK. Metodologi. Studi pendahuluan dan potong lintang dilakukan pada 14 penderita PIK jenis angina pectoris stabil yang datang berobat di poliklinik Kardiologi RSCM. Kemudian dilakukan diagnosa PJK dengan Treadmill, pemeriksaan hs-CRP dan kemudian wawancara gizi dengan Food Frequency Quesioner yang menggambarkan pola diet penderita untuk mendapatkan nilai IG.
Hasil. Didapatkan rerata IG 80,96 (tinggi), rerata hs-CRP 1,88 mg/L, serta korelasi positif antara IG dan hs-CRP. Nilai korelasi antara IG dan hs-CRP adalah 0,682 dengan kemaknaan statistik 0,007.
Simpulan. Didapatkan rerata IG dan hs-CRP yang tinggi serta korelasi positif antara IG dan hs-CRP pada penderita PJK.

Background. Glycemic Index (GI) significantly correlated with cardiovascular disease, especially Coronary Arterial Disease (CAD). High Sensitivity-CRP is a marker to predict the risk of Cardiovascular Disease and the higher hs-CRP the higher risk of CAD. Glycemic Index has been known to have a positive correlation with hs-CRP. There was no research in Indonesia, which was trying to see the correlation between IG, hs-CRP and CAD.
Objectives. To get an average value of GI and hs-CRP and to know if there is a correlation between GI and hs-CRP in CAD patient.
Methods. A cross sectional study was done to this research. Fifteen CAD patients especially stable chronic angina which already diagnose with treadmill were examined their blood and then filled form of FFQ to see their GI pattern.
Results. The average result of GI was 80.96 (high) and average result of hs-CRP was 1.88 mg/L. There was a positive correlation between GI and hs-CRP in-patient with CAD in this research.
Conclusions. There was a high average value of GI and hs-CRP in-patient with CAD. There was a positive correlation between GI and hs-CRP in CAD patient.

"Latar Belakang: Hiperhomosisteinemia merupakan salah satu faktor risiko terjadinya penyakit kardiovaskular (PKV). Psoriasis vulgaris adalah penyakit kulit inflamasi kronis yang berhubungan dengan beberapa penyakit penyerta, misalnya aterosklerosis dan PKV. Defisiensi folat dapat terjadi pada pasien psoriasis, akibat utilisasi yang meningkat di kulit yang mengalami hiperproliferasi dan atau penyerapan oleh usus yang berkurang. Hal ini dapat mengakibatkan peningkatan kadar homosistein dalam darah. Penulis meneliti korelasi antara kadar homosistein serum dan derajat keparahan psoriasis vulgaris, yang diukur dengan metode psoriasis area severity index (PASI) dan luas permukaan tubuh (body surface area, BSA). Metode: penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan potong lintang, pada 36 pasien psoriasis vulgaris. Subyek terdiri dari16 perempuan dan 20 laki-laki. Kadar homosistein serum diukur dengan metode competitive immunoassay dan dikorelasikan dengan derajat keparahan psoriasis. Hasil: pada subyek psoriasis laki-laki, kadar homosistein serum berkorelasi positif dengan derajat keparahan penyakit yang diukur dengan PASI (korelasi Pearson, r = 0.615 , p < 0,05) dan BSA (korelasi Spearman , r = 0,476 , p < 0,05). Tidak ada korelasi antara kadar homosistein serum dengan PASI (korelasi Pearson , p > 0,05 ) dan BSA (korelasi Spearman, p > 0,05) pada subyek psoriasis perempuan. Kesimpulan: Terdapat korelasi positif yang signifikan secara statistik antara kadar homosistein serum dengan derajat keparahan psoriasis yang diukur dengan PASI dan BSA pada subyek psoriasis laki-laki.

Background: hyperhomocysteinemia is an independent risk factor for the development of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Psoriasis vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease associated with several comorbidities, such as atherosclerosis and CVD. Psoriatic patients often presents low levels of folic acid as a result of an increasing vitamin utilization in the skin and/or reduced gut absorption. This may result in raised levels of homocysteine. The authors investigated the correlation between serum homocysteine levels and the severity of psoriasis vulgaris measured by psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) and body surface area (BSA). Method: we performed a cross-sectional study in 36 patients with psoriasis vulgaris. The subjects comprised 16 women and 20 men. The serum levels of homocysteine were measured by competitive immunoassay method and were correlated with the severity of psoriasis (PASI and BSA). Result: in male psoriasis subjects, serum homocysteine levels positively correlated with disease severity as measured by PASI (Pearson's correlation; r = 0.615, p < 0.05) and BSA (Spearman's correlation; r = 0.476, p < 0.05). There was no correlation between serum homocysteine levels with PASI (Pearson's correlation, p > 0.05) and BSA (Spearman's correlation, p > 0.05) in female psoriasis subjects. Conclusion: a significant correlation between serum homocysteine levels with disease severity measured by PASI and BSA in male psoriasis subjects was evidenced."
