"This paper reports a study on the pragmatic transfer in compliment responses by Indonesian learners of English. It has two aims: (1) to discover similarities in complement response in Indonesian and in English and (2) to discover if there is the pragmatic transfer to compliment responses from Indonesian into English. Using the result from Discourse Completion Test (DCT), this study investigated similarities and different between 2175 compliment responses in Indonesian and 2175 compliment responses in English given by 78 Indonesian learners of English enrolled in "public Speaking" course at State University of Padang. The data are described in term of percentage and analyzed by using chi-square test. The result of the study shows that there is no significant difference between compliment responses given by Indonesian Learners of English in Indonesian and that of in English. Compared to the data about complement responses given by American people provided by Chen (1993), there is a significant difference between types of compliment responses given by Indonesian learners of English and that of by the native speakers of English. It seems that there is a tendency to do negative pragmatic transfers from Indonesian into English. The teaching implication is that more rules on compliments and compliment responses which are appropriate in English should be introduced to student. As a result the Negative transfer can be reduced."

"Disertasi ini mengkaji pergeseran diatesis dalam terjemahan teks ilmiah dari bahasa Belanda ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Analisis difokuskan pada data berupa 10 artikel dari buku Kongres Studi Belanda di Indonesia tahun 2010 dan 2015. Sejumlah 3.085 klausa dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode campuran sematan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari semua klausa berpredikat verbal 15,06% klausa berdiatesis agentif bergeser menjadi pasientif dan 13,79% klausa berdiatesis pasientif bergeser menjadi agentif. Pergeseran diatesis terkait tataran leksikal, gramatikal, dan tekstual. Pada tataran leksikal, pergeseran diatesis dipicu beberapa hal terkait ciri leksikal predikat, yaitu kelas, unit, valensi, serta kolokasi dan koligasi. Pada tataran gramatikal, pergeseran diatesis disebabkan oleh objek yang dalam bahasa Indonesia tidak dapat dikedepankan serta keterbatasan adverbia relatif. Pada tataran tekstual pergeseran diatesis pada umumnya disebabkan oleh pemertahanan urutan kata yang berkaitan erat dengan alur informasi. Pergeseran diatesis menyebabkan pergeseran nuansa makna, tetapi tidak menyebabkan pergeseran makna inti. Kesepadanan terjemahan teks ilmiah yang pada umumnya diterjemahkan dengan metode komunikatif merupakan sebuah kontinum. Makna tekstual lebih dipertahankan dari makna gramatikal. Diatesis bergeser sebagai akibat upaya pemerolehan kesepadanan tekstual.

This dissertation discusses voice shift in translation of academic texts from Dutch to Indonesian. The analysis focuses on 10 articles taken from proceedings of Dutch Study Congresses in Indonesia published in 2010 and 2015. A total number of 3,085 clauses were analyzed by using mixed-method. The result shows that of all clauses with verbal predicates nearly 15.06% of all clauses with agentive voice shifts to patientive, and 14.8% of all clauses with patientive voice shifts to agentive. The causes of voice shift are related to lexical, grammatical, and textual level. On the lexical level, voice shift is affected by lexical features such as class, unit, valence, collocation and colligation as well. On the grammatical level, voice shift is induced by Indonesian that does not have object fronting and has limited relative adverbs. On the textual level, voice shift is mostly triggered by preserving word order that is strongly related to information flow. Voice shift leads to shift nuances of meaning, but not the core meaning. The translation equivalence of academic texts which are generally translated by using communicative method is a continuum. Textual meaning is preserved. Thus, voice shift is caused by the effort to obtain a textual equivalence."

"Cornelis Chastelein membeli tanah di daerah Depok dan mempekerjakan budak yang ia merdekakan untuk membentuk kehidupan komunitas sosial yang berpemerintahan mandiri. Sepeninggal Cornelis Chastelein, harta kekayaannya diwarisi sepenuhnya oleh para pengikutnya. Melalui pewarisan ini kemudian budaya Depok mulai berkembang. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengungkap proses terbentuknya Kaum Depok, budaya yang mereka anut, serta identitas yang melekat pada mereka dalam periode 1913-1945. Metodologi yang dipakai pada studi berikut ialah metodologi historis, terbagi dalam empat tahap, ialah Heuristik, Kritik Sumber, Interpretasi, serta Historiografi. Data yang dipakai pada studi berikut ialah sumber primer, seperti arsip, dokumen foto, dan surat-surat pribadi Cornelis Chastelein, serta sumber sekunder, seperti buku-buku sejarah, artikel jurnal, dan penelitian sebelumnya. Penelitian isi menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan kota Depok tidak terlepas dari peran Cornelis Chastelein yang tidak hanya memperkenalkan agama Kristen Protestan tetapi juga mewariskan kekayaannya, gaya hidup Belanda, dan tradisi khas yang hingga sekarang ini masihlah kerap dilaksanakan oleh pengikutnya. Kelompok ini terus berkembang, mempertahankan gaya hidup ala Cornelis Chastelein, sehingga dikenal dengan julukan Belanda Depok.

Cornelis Chastelein bought land in the Depok area and employed slaves whom he emancipated to form a self-governing social community. After Cornelis Chastelein's passing, his wealth was fully inherited by his followers. Through this inheritance, Depok culture began to develop. This research aims to uncover the process of the formation of the Depok community, the culture they adhere to, and the identity inherent in them during the period 1913-1945. The method used in this research is the historical method, divided into four steps: Heuristics, Source Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography. A literature review approach is used to gather data. The data used in this research includes primary sources, such as archives, photographic documents, and personal letters of Cornelis Chastelein, as well as secondary sources, such as history books, journal articles, and previous research. The research findings show that the formation of the city of Depok was significantly influenced by Cornelis Chastelein, who not only introduced the Protestant Christian religion but also bequeathed his wealth, Dutch lifestyle, and distinctive traditions that are still often practiced by his followers today. This group continues to evolve, maintaining the lifestyle of Cornelis Chastelein, and has become known as the Belanda Depok."

"[ ABSTRAK
Makalah ini membahas dimensi sosio-psikologis dalam seni lukis yang
digambarkan dalam novel ?My Name is Red? karya Orhan Pamuk. Penulis
melalui makalah ini berpendapat bahwa dalam kontes antara liberalisme dan
religiusitas seni lukis di era Sultan Murat III, sebagaimana digambarkan dalam
novel tersebut, elemen psikologis mewujud dalam narsisme. Ide ini termanifestasi
dalam bentuk perilaku Velijan Effendi yang di satu sisi memegang teguh prinsipprinsip
Timur namun secara estetika tidak dapat menolak keunggulan prinsipprinsip
Barat. Hal ini mencerminkan bagaimana dua budaya bertemu dan
menghasilkan gejolak psikologis pada diri individu terkait isu pembuktian diri.
Makalah ini juga menyorot potensi ketidaksesuaian gambaran narsisme yang
dipaparkan Orhan Pamuk dengan pemahaman masa kini terkait narsisme. Hasil
analisis menunjukkan kalau gambaran Velijan atau Olive dalam novel My Name
Is Red tetap sejalan dengan gambaran individu narsisme dalam literatur ilmiah.
Velijan Effendi menjadi sosok narsis karena hasil dari kebutuhannya untuk diakui,
untuk eksis dalam hidupnya yang tertekan dan menggunakan lukisan-lukisannya
sebagai media untuk menyalurkan kebutuhannya tersebut.

examples about how paintings can be a media of painters who lived in a
repressive era of Sultan Murat III which established rigid rules adopted from
Islamic principles of how a painting should be done. This idea manifested in the
characters? behaviour, especially Velijan Effendi, who hold the Islamic or East
principles but dilemmatically fond of Western principles as an aesthetic way of
painting. This kind of dilemma born from the presence of East and West
principles intertwined in Turkey at the era pictured in the novel. Results
determined that Velijan Effendi is narcistic as a result of his needs to be
acknowledged and to express his self-manifestation; to be existent in his repressed

"Evaluasi ini dilakukan untuk menilai kemampuan Yayasan Madani Berkelanjutan dalam melakukan riset disektor kelapa sawit. Yayasan Madani sebagai sebuah lembaga swadaya masyarakat yang fokus terhadap isu tata kelola hutan dan lahan, memiliki berbagai program untuk memengaruhi kebijakan pemerintah. Akan tetapi, dalam program-programnya Yayasan Madani cenderung hanya menggunakan data-data skunder ditingkat daerah dan nasional, sedangkan sejatinya dalam pembuatan kebijakan juga membutuhkan data ditingkat masyarakat agar kebijakan yang disusun sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat. Dalam tulisan ini, penulis menawarkan sebuah kerangka yang dapat digunakan untuk melakukan riset guna mendapatkan data dilevel masyarakat. Evaluasi ini menggunakan analisis strength, weakness, opportunity, dan threat serta dalam pengumpulan datanya menggunakan metode observasi yang diengkapi dan dipertajam dengan metode wawancara terhadap 3 informan. Berdasarkan evaluasi yang telah dilakukan, diketahui bahwa Yayasan Madani kurang mampu untuk mengimplementasikan kerangka yang ditawarkan. Dari segi sumber daya manusia, anggota Yayasan Madani terbatas dalam bidang penelitian lapangan, dari segi penggunaan jenis data sejauh ini Yayasan Madani cenderung hanya menggunakan data-data angka ditingkat daerah dan nasional, dan dari segi anggaran juga Yayasan Madani tidak mengalokasikan anggaran untuk keperluan penelitian lapangan. Dengan demikian, penulis merekomendasikan Yayasan Madani untuk dapat mengkombinaskan penggunaan data angka dan data narasi dalam program, hal ini bertujuan agar alternatif kebijakan yang diberikan ke pemerintah daerah lebih detail dan sesuai fakta dilapangan. Penulis juga merekomendasikan agar memberikan pembakalan kepada para anggota untuk mendukung penggunaan data yang lebih variatif dalam program.

This evaluation conducted to assess the ability of the Madani Foundation to researching the palm oil sector. Madani Foundation is a non-governmental organization that focuses on issues of forest and land governance. Have various programs to influence government policy. However, in its programs, the Madani Foundation only uses secondary data at the regional and national levels, while in policymaking it also requires data at the society level so that the policies formulated are by community needs. In this paper, the authors offer a framework that can use for research to obtain data at the society level. This evaluation uses the analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The Data collected by using the observation method that is complemented and sharpened by the interview method of 3 informants. Based on the evaluation that has done, known the Madani Foundation is less able to implement the framework that offered. In terms of human resources, members of the Madani Foundation are limited in the field of field research, in terms of the use of data types so far the Madani Foundation tends only use numerical data at the regional and national levels, and in terms of the budget also the Madani Foundation does not allocate a budget for field research purposes. Thus, the authors recommend the Madani Foundation to be able to combine the use of numerical and narrative data in the program. The author also recommends providing upgrading skills for all members to support the use of more varied data in the program."

"Saat ini, sebagian besar masyarakat Belanda dapat berbicara dan mengerti bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa kedua. Campur kode dapat terlihat pada akun Instagram @cosmopolitan_nl sebagai salah satu majalah di Belanda. Bentuk, proses terjadinya campur kode dan faktor penyebab terjadinya campur kode dalam keterangan foto Instagram @cosmopolitan_nl itulah yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi deskriptif dengan menggunakan pandangan Muysken mengenai penyisipan, alternasi dan leksikalisasi kongruen serta pandangan Hoffman mengenai faktor penyebab terjadinya campur kode. Data diambil dari periode Desember 2019 sampai Februari 2020. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa bentuk campur kode yang banyak terjadi adalah bentuk penyisipan dan alternasi. Faktor penyebabnya yaitu penekanan yang ingin diberikan kepada pembaca dan ingin memberi kesan menarik mengenai topik yang disampaikan. 

Most Dutch people can nowadays speak and understand English as a second language. This phenomenon of code mixing can be seen on Instagram account @cosmopolitan_nl, as a magazine in the Netherlands.This study analyzes the form, the process of code mixing and factors contributing to code mixing in caption @cosmopolitam_nl Instagram account.The method used is descriptive according to Muyskens point of view on the insertion, alternation and congruent lexicalization and Hoffman's point of view regarding factors contributing to code mixing. The data was collected during the period of December 2019 to February 2020. The results of this study revealed that the most common form of code mixing are insertion and alternation. The contributing factor is the need to give emphasis to the reader and to make an interesting impression on the topic being conveyed."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengulas sejarah masuk dan perkembangan gerakan Ultras di Maroko serta memberikan gambaran komprehensif tentang peran Ultras dalam budaya sepak bola negara ini. Penelitian ini tidak hanya memberikan gambaran komprehensif tentang peran Ultras dalam budaya sepak bola Maroko, tetapi juga mengungkapkan bagaimana mereka mempengaruhi dinamika sosial dan budaya negara tersebut. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dengan mengadopsi teori subkultur Dick Hebdige untuk mengkaji gerakan Ultras di Maroko. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Ultras di Maroko tidak hanya memberikan dukungan fanatik terhadap klub sepak bola mereka, tetapi juga memiliki dampak yang signifikan dalam dinamika sosial dan politik. Mereka menciptakan atmosfer meriah di stadion, terutama selama kompetisi internasional seperti Piala Afrika, yang berkontribusi pada moral dan performa tim. Selain itu, Ultras di Maroko menjadi simbol perlawanan terhadap hegemoni budaya dan menggunakan lagu-lagu mereka untuk mengartikulasikan kritik sosial dan politik, serta memperkuat solidaritas di antara anggota mereka.

This research aims to examine the history and development of the Ultras movement in Morocco and provide a comprehensive overview of their role in the country's football culture. The study not only offers a comprehensive depiction of the Ultras' role in Moroccan football culture but also reveals how they influence the social and cultural dynamics of the country. A qualitative approach is adopted, utilizing Dick Hebdige's subcultural theory to explore the Ultras movement in Morocco. The findings of the research indicate that Ultras in Morocco not only provide fervent support for their football clubs but also have a significant impact on social and political dynamics. They create lively atmospheres in stadiums, particularly during international competitions like the Africa Cup of Nations, which contribute to the morale and performance of the teams. Moreover, Ultras in Morocco serve as symbols of resistance against cultural hegemony, using their songs to articulate social and political critiques and strengthen solidarity among their members."

"Infertilitas merupa.kan masalah yang cukup komplek dan dapat dipengaruhi banyak variabel, salah satunya adalah faktor sosial budaya Tesis ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan konsep mengenai respon dan koping perempuan yang mengalami masalah infertilitas yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor sosial budaya Banyumas. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan grounded theory. Sepuluh partisipan dalam penelitian ini didapatkan dengan cara theoritical sampling.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan respon psikologis partisipan malu, sedih, stress, menerima Partisipan menggunakan mekanisme koping adaptif dan maladaptif. Faktor sosial budaya yang mempengaruhi adalah nilai dan kepercayaan masyarakat Banyumas tentang infertil serta adanya budaya nrimo ing pandum dan konco wingking. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan asuhan keperawatan secara komprehensif.

Infertility was caused by many factors, one of which was socio-cultural. The aim of study was to determine the coping and responses concept of women whose infertility caused by socio-cultural of Banyumas. Research design was qualitative with grounded theory approach. Number of participants was ten people were taken with theoretical sampling.
The results showed that participants had responses of shame, sadness, stress, and accepting. Participants used adaptive and maladaptive coping mechanisms. Socio-cultural factor which influence were values and beliefs of Banyurnas society about infertility and the existence of nrimo ing pandum (whole hearted for accepting) and konco wingking (assistant) cultural. The study provides description for nurse to deliver a comprehensive nursing care.
