"[ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh suhu terhadap gaya regang power chain ortodontik dalam larutan saliva buatan. Digunakan 56 power chain merek Ormco, tipe tertutup, yang diregangkan dengan jarak 40 mm pada plat akrilik yang direndam dalam larutan saliva buatan dan akuades. Gaya regang (gf) diukur menggunakan correx meter force gauge pada sebelum dan sesudah 210 menit perendaman. Terjadi penurunan gaya regang yang berbeda bermakna (p<0,05) pada berbagai suhu. Pengaruh media perendaman larutan saliva buatan dan akuades menghasilkan penurunan gaya regang pada perlakuan suhu 23℃ yang berbeda bermakna (p<0,05), tetapi pada 4℃, 23℃ dan 55℃ tidak berbeda bermakna.

ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to determine the effect of temperature toward tensile force of orthodontic power chain in artificial saliva. Specimens of 56 power chain (ormco, closed type) were stretched 40 mm on acrylic plate and immersed in artificial saliva and aquadest. Tensile force (grf) were measured using correx meter force gauge, recorded the initial and final force after 210 minutes of immersion. A decline in tensile force showed significant difference (p<0,05) at various temperatures. Digunakan 28 power chain merk ormco, tipe tertutup, bening, yangdiregangkan pada 2 titik berjarak 40 mm pada plat akrilik dan direndam dalam larutan tehbotol, buavita, coca cola dan aquades. Gaya regang (grf) power chain diukur menggunakanforce gauge dan dicatat gaya awal, setelah 1 jam, 24 jam, 48 jam, 72 jam, 168 jam dan 336jam perendaman. Terjadi penurunan gaya regang power chain yang signifikan, namun tidakterdapat perbedaan signifikan terhadap setiap waktu perendaman dalam perbedaan pH larutanteh botol, buavita, coca cola dan aquades.

ABSTRACTThe aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of teh botol, Buavita, coca cola and distilledwater toward force decay of orthodontic power chain. Twenty eight power chains (Ormo,closed type, tranparant) were fixed on acrylic framework (40 mm of distance) and immersedin teh botol, buavita, coca cola and distilled water. Force decay were measured using tensiongauge (grf) and recorded at initial force, 1 hour, 24 hour, 42 hour, 72 hour, 168 hour and 336hours of immersion. There was a decrease of force, however acidity did not influence forcedegradation of power chain statistically."
