"Serat sandi sutra ini berisi keterangan tentang aksara Jawa, terutama membicarakan mengenai vokal, dasanama, dan tata kalimat. Menurut keterangan di h.i, Pigeaud membeli naskah kertas tela ini di Yogyakarta pada tanggal 27 Mei 1932, dari Ir. Moens. Moens memperolehnya dari Kraton Kanoman, Cirebon. Karena judulnya memakai istilah Yudanagaran, kemungkinan pemiliknya di Cirebon bernama Pangeran Yudanagaran. Naskah telah pernah dibuat ringkasannya olen Mandrasastra pada Januari 1933, tetapi ringkasan tersebut tidak terlampir di dalamnya (kemungkinan sudah hilang).
