"This book explores and analyzes innovative methodologies and applications of research on the value of information. Based on papers commissioned for a workshop hosted in 2010 by resources for the future, the book offers answers to important questions : What is meant by "value of information"? When does information have value? What are the stateof-the-practice methods for ascribing value to information? The book examines applications in two disparate fields linked by the importance of valuing information: public health and space. Researchers in the health field have developed some of the most innovative methodologies for valuing information, used to help determine, for example, the value of diagnostics in informing patient treatment decisions. In the field of space, recent applications of value-of-information methods are critical for informing decisions on investment in satellites that collect data about air quality, fresh water supplies, climate and other natural and environmental resources affecting global health and quality of life. The contributors identify five discrete approaches at the frontier of methodological advances : price- and cost-based derivation, Bayesian belief networks, regulatory cost-effectiveness evaluation, econometric modeling and estimation and simulation modeling and estimation. The authors advance terms to describe what is meant by "value" (which need not be expressed in monetary terms) and identify steps to ascribe, measure, and communicate value. "

"The managerial motivations in decision-making are evaluated in this research, whether they aim to maximize value or meet environmental and social pressures at the expense of value. Revisiting this matter, the study employs green bonds as a treatment and measures the change in firm value data using Tobin’s Q, controlling for times, individual and other company characteristics. Using the difference-in-differences (DD) method, this research documents the positive impact of issuing green bonds on a firm value. Our findings are consistent over the aggregate sample and most of the industry sub-sample, whereas negatives association are observed only in the industrials (industrial and commercial services, industrial goods, and transportation) industry sub-sample. These findings align with the stakeholder value maximization hypothesis. We find rather unpromising result of negative correlation between green bond issuance and a firm’s ESG scores, indicating the greenwashing arguments. Therefore, the managerial decision to issue green bonds, is in line with the stakeholder value maximization theory, that is to maximize the firm value.

"The theory of belief functions, also known as evidence theory or Dempster-Shafer theory, was first introduced by Arthur P. Dempster in the context of statistical inference, and was later developed by Glenn Shafer as a general framework for modeling epistemic uncertainty. These early contributions have been the starting points of many important developments, including the Transferable Belief Model and the Theory of Hints. The theory of belief functions is now well established as a general framework for reasoning with uncertainty, and has well understood connections to other frameworks such as probability, possibility and imprecise probability theories.
This volume contains the proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Belief Functions that was held in Compiègne, France on 9-11 May 2012. It gathers 51 contributions describing recent developments both on theoretical issues (including approximation methods, combination rules, continuous belief functions, graphical models and independence concepts) and applications in various areas including classification, image processing, statistics and intelligent vehicles."

The purpose of this study was to understand the influence of perceived authenticity on perceived quality (food, environment, service), perceived value, and behavioral intention among consumers of the Padang restaurant chain. This research utilized an online survey method for data collection and successfully obtained 270 respondents. The data was analyzed using PLS-SEM on the SmartPLS 4 software. The results of the study indicate that perceived authenticity significantly influences perceived quality, perceived value, and the behavioral intention of consumers of the Padang restaurant chain. However, no direct influence was found between food quality and environment quality on behavioral intention."
