The fast-paced Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) technology for Internet of Things (IoT) systems is undeniable as Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) wireless communications leads the way in scalability, lifetime, capacity, cost, and transmission distance. One of the potential applications is observation at Indonesia's land border with neighboring countries, currently observations are carried out by patrol and are not updated in real-time. The use of LoRaWAN technology can provide increased efficiency and effectiveness compared to the methods previously used, mainly due to the characteristics of LoRaWAN which enable data transmission over long distances with low energy consumption. However, it is important to do the right network configuration so that the process of exchanging data packets can take place with all connected nodes with low energy consumption. Finding the optimal configuration to get the most out of the LoRa transmission protocol is an integral step prior to implementation. From the simulation results obtained efficient energy distribution which is random uniform centered the optimal combination between the number of virtual rings and clusters is 3 rings and 6 rings, the value is free or evenly distributed from Circular arc 2 to Circular arc 8 and has the lowest energy consumption of 0.56 mJ using the Next Ring Hop (NRH) routing scheme with critical ring 1."

This study aims to find an optimum route in terms of cost and emission using electric and conventional vehicles considering a congested road situation to gain a practical understanding for the feasibility to shift into electric vehicles. To conduct the analysis, a mathematical optimization model with the objective of minimizing cost and emission using sample distribution network data with 20 nodes is first run upon 4 traffic situations; empty, normal, congested at certain times, and highly congested, as well as 3 vehicle scenarios; only electric, only conventional, and mixed. The result is then analyzed to assess the trade-off and it was found that every situation favors the use of electric vehicles as it is superior in efficiency of cost and emission. "

The Vehicle Routing Problem is an application of combinatorial optimization to determine a number of routes that start and end at one place. The problem of managing waste transportation is a very important part in maintaining the aesthetics and comfort of a city or region. North Sumatra Province itself is one of the provinces in Indonesia that produces waste piles, where the area in the province that has the highest daily waste production ratio per resident is Pematangsiantar City as much as 0.83 kg/day per resident which of course will result in high daily waste accumulation rates. The high number of landfills must of course be balanced with good transportation services for the entire waste in an area. This study aims to obtain vehicle routes for the distribution of waste transportation by minimizing the optimal travel time for the distribution. By using the Vehicle Routing Problem, 43 routes were obtained for 34 units of garbage transporting vehicles, with a total waste pile of 183.1 m3/day and a total operational time of 4608 minutes"

"Nowadays, severe flooding frequently occurs in various parts of Thailand resulted from changes
in climatic condition and land use patterns. The flooding has caused great damages to properties
and lives and affects country economy. Experience from the most severe flooding in the northern
and central regions of Thailand in the year 2011 reveals that reliable flood warning system is still
lagging. For flood warning purpose, it is necessary to have an accurate flood routing system. This
study is aimed at developing mathematical models for flood routing so as to provide data for flood
warning. Two different models are developed, i.e., kinematic overland flow model and kinematic
stream flow model. The finite element method with Galerkin’s weighted residual technique is used
in model development. The second order Runge-Kutta method is applied to solve the set of
differential equations obtained from finite element formulation. The developed models are applied
to simulate flows in the Wang river basin in the northern region of Thailand during July 1 -
October 31, 2011 when severe flooding occurred in this region. Model calibration is made by
adjusting some parameters in the models and comparing the obtained results with measured data
recorded by RID at 5 stream flow gauge stations along the Wang river. For correlation analysis.
three statistical indices are determined, these include coefficient of determination, R2, Nash-
Sutcliffe model efficiency coefficient, NSE, and coefficient of variation of the root mean square
error, CV(RMSE). It is found that the model results at the upstream portion of the river
satisfactorily agree with the observed data, with the values of R2 greater than 0.55 and CV(RMSE)
less than 0.57. For the downstream portion of the river, there are remarkable differences between
the model results and the observed data. The values of R2 are less than 0.35, CV(RMSE) greater
than 0.76, and the NSE values are less than 0.16. This might be due to some errors in the input
data, including rainfall pattern, topography, land use, river cross-sectional area, and water seepage
along the river. More detailed field investigation and model calibration are still needed."
