"Kepribadian seseorang mempengaruhi bagaimana pendapat orang lain terhadap dirinya. Aspek psikologi merupakan salah satu cara dalam melihat kepribadian seseorang. Dalam karya sastra penulis menciptakan karakterisasi yang dapat dilihat dari aspek kepribadian dan aspek psikologi salah satunya adalah Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Doyle menciptakan tokoh Sherlock Holmes yang kuat. Novel A Study in Scarlet, Doyle memperkenalkan ke dunia karakter Sherlock yang eksentrik . Terdapat dua poin pembahasan dalam jurnal ini. Pertama, karakter eksentrik Sherlock Holmes membuatnya menjadi sosok berbeda dari tokoh lain dan menempatkannya sebagai salah satu ikon detektif. Kedua, dengan karakter ekstentrik namun cerdas; Holmes sebagai karakter rekaan Doyle dapat menjadi contoh bagaimana masyarakat menerima 'orang ekstentrik'. Dengan mengkaji Holmes dari segi psikologi, jurnal ini berusaha untuk memahami dan menunjukan struktur kepribadian eksentrik yang mempengaruhi interaksi Holmes dengan tokoh-tokoh lain dalam novel A Study in Scarlet.

A person's personality influences others judgements to value that person. Psychological aspect is one tool to see the human personality. Literature deals with personality and psychological aspect of the character created by the author. Sherlock Holmes is an eccentric character in A Study in Scarlet, the first series of detective story which introduced him. The characterization of Holmes that has been attributed by the creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is very strong. There are two points this article attempts to discover. The first is because Holmes' eccentric personality make him a distinguish character that would be prominent among others and it becomes one of the factors establishing him as an icon in the detective story. The Second is through the characterization known with his eccentricity yet intelligence; Holmes imaginary character could be an example to see the acceptance of the society towards 'eccentric person'. Psychological approach is an attempt to have thorough understanding and pinpoint the structure of eccentric personality which affects Sherlock Holmes interaction with other characters in A Study in Scarlet novel."

"Serial TV Crime Fiction merupakan salah satu produk audiovisual yang lekat dengan kehidupan masyarakat karena kisahnya yang diambil dari kejahatan yang terjadi di sekitar kita. Jurnal ini membahas serial TV Sherlock Holmes yang ditayangkan di saluran BBC seluruh dunia dengan menyentuh isu gender yaitu peran dan konstruksi gender. Tokoh wanita yang digambarkan berbeda dengan stereotipe gender yang berlaku di masyarakat tradisonal membuat peneliti ingin menggali lebih dalam bagaimana dualisme peran feminin-maskulin bekerja didalam film melalui kedua tokoh wanitanya. Selain itu, jurnal ini juga menjawab bagaimana kedua tokoh wanita diperlakukan ketika tidak mengikuti aturan yang berlaku di masyarakat tradisional. Peneliti menggunakan Item ndash; item yang terdapat dalam Alat Ukur Bem Sex Role Inventory untuk mendukung peneliti dalam melakukan pembahasan. Pada akhirnya serial TV ini membuka kesempatan merekonstruksi definisi dan peran gender wanita yang selama ini telah terinternalisasi di dalam kehidupan masyarakat.

This journal analyzes the Sherlock Holmes TV serial that has been broadcast in BBC Worldwide channel by touching its gender issuses such as roles and gender construction. The different depicting ways of the women characters from those prevailing in the society drives the writer to dig deeper how these feminine masculine dualism role works in this film through both of the women characters. Morevoer, this journal is also answers how both of the women characters were treated when they didn't follow the prevailing rules. Writer use the items in Bem Sex Role Inventory Measurment Instrument to supports writer expose the discussion. In the end this TV serial open the chance to reconstruct the definition of women gender role that has been internalized in our society."
