"Jepang merupakan negara yang memiliki beberapa konsep keindahan, salah satunya adalah konsep mono no aware. Para sastrawan Jepang sering memakai konsep tersebut ke dalam karyanya, tak terkecuali Yasunari Kawabata. Pada karyanya yang berjudul Nemureru Bijo, Yasunari Kawabata menggunakan konsep mono no aware (hati tergerak karena sebuah keindahan). Maka dari itu, pada penelitian kali ini akan dianalisis bagaimana proses munculnya mono no aware pada novel Nemureru Bijo karya Yasunari Kawabata. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini metode kepustakaan dalam pengumpulan data dan referensi, serta metode analisis teks dalam melakukan analisis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan mono no aware yang muncul akibat Eguchi (lelaki tua), yang memiliki kesedihan di masa tuanya, menemukan keindahan pada gadis di rumah perawan serta lelaki tua lain ketika berkunjung ke rumah perawan. Dari sana, muncullah kenangan masa muda, pertanyaan, serta pemikiran di benak Eguchi. Akibatnya, hati Eguchi pun tergerak dan menghasilkan berbagai perasaan seperti sedih, penyesalan, dan iba. Proses tersebut yang menjelaskan bagaimana mono no aware muncul pada Nemureru Bijo.Japan is a country that has several consepts of beauty, one of these concepts is mono no aware. Japanese writers often use this concept in their literature, including Yasunari Kawabata. In his work entitled Nemureru Bijo, Yasunari Kawabata uses the concept of mono no aware (the heart is touched because of a beauty). This study aims to find how mono no aware appeared in Nemureru Bijo by Yasunari Kawabata. This study using the literature study method in collecting data and references, also text analysis methods for analysis. The result of the study shows mono no aware that arises due to Eguchi (old man), who has sadness in his old age, found beauty in virgin girls and other old man when visiting a virgin house. Then, came the memories of youth, questions, and thoughts in Eguchi`s mind. As a result, Eguchi`s heart was touched and created various feelings such as sadness, regret, and compassion. This process explains how mono no aware appears in Nemureru Bijo."
