"Makalah ini membahas beberapa unsur postmodernisme dalam "Bad Romance" klip video dan bagaimana klip video terkait dengan beberapa teori posmodernisme. Saat ini, unsur-unsur posmodernisme dapat terlihat jelas dalam kehidupan kita sehari-hari, seperti dari media. Video klip, "Bad Romance", adalah contoh dari media yang mengandung beberapa unsur posmodernisme. Klip video ini sering ditampilkan di televisi hari ini, sehingga unsur posmodernisme dapat didistribusikan melalui video klip. Ada dua poin utama yang muncul dalam tulisan ini. Pertama, makalah ini menunjukkan beberapa karakteristik posmodernisme dalam "Bad Romance" seperti subversi, pelanggaran, insiden kekerasan, suasana intelektual, berbagai ekspresi budaya, manifestasi dari ketidakstabilan, pertentangan ketidakstabilan, kebimbangan antara definisi dan penghapusan, bentuk kontingensi dan negosiasi dan oposisi yang kuat untuk hirarki dan otoritas. Kedua, "Bad Romance" dapat dikatakan sebagai contoh posmodernisme dalam media melalui tulisan ini. Teori-teori posmodernisme oleh Sarup (1993), Brooks (2009), dan Kaye (1994) digunakan untuk membantu peneliti untuk menemukan unsur-unsur posmodernisme dalam video klip, "Bad Romance".

This paper examines some elements of postmodernism in ?Bad Romance? video clip and how the video clip is related to some postmodernism theories. Nowadays, the elements of postmodernism can be clearly seen in our daily life, such as from the media. This video clip, ?Bad Romance?, is an example of media that contains some elements of postmodernism. This video clip is often shown on today?s television, so that the elements of postmodernism can be distributed through this video clip. There are two main points that appear in this paper. First, this paper shows some characteristics of postmodernism in "Bad Romance" such as the subversion, transgression, violent incident, intellectual mood, array of cultural expressions, manifestation of an instability, contention of instability, vacillation between the definition and removal, form of contingency and negotiation and strong opposition to hierarchy and authority. Second, ?Bad Romance? can be said as an example of postmodernism in media through this paper. The theories of postmodernism by Sarup (1993), Brooks (2009), and Kaye (1994) are used to help the researcher in order to find the elements of postmodernism in the video clip, "Bad Romance"."

"Skripsi ini membahas tentang penerapan teori Brian McHale untuk membuktikan keberadaan unsur-unsur posmodernisme dalam novel Ночной Дозор (Penjaga Malam) karya Sergey Lukyanenko. Untuk membuktikan argumen utama penelitian ini yaitu novel Ночной Дозор (Penjaga Malam) mengandung unsur- unsur posmodernisme yang lebih dominan sehingga dapat digolongkan ke dalam novel beraliran posmodernisme, digunakan teori posmodernisme dan metode deskriptif analitis. Hasil analisis menyimpulkan bahwa novel Ночной Дозор adalah novel yang beraliran posmodernisme.

This thesis studies about the application of the theory by Brian McHale in order to prove the existence of postmodernism elements within the novel Ночной Дозор (Night Watch) by Sergey Lukyanenko. Postmodern theory and descriptive analysis method are used in proving the main argument of this study which stating that novel Ночной Дозор (Night Watch) can be classified into a postmodernism novel because it is dominated by postmodernism elements. The analysis result concludes that the novel Ночной Дозор is a postmodernism novel."

"ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas tentang bagaimana isu gender dan seksualitas ditampilkan dalam bentuk visualisasi di tiga video klip Lady Gaga. Evolusi musik yang kini tidak hanya didengar tetapi juga bisa dilihat melalui visualisasi dalam video klip musik pun menjadi latar belakang dari permasalahan ini.Penulis mengambil korpus dari video-video klip musik Lady Gaga yang berjudul Telephone, Bad Romance, dan Alejandro yang beberapa waktu yang lalu sering ditampilkan dalam salah satu stasiun televisi yang khusus menyiarkan acara musik yaitu MTV. Dalam penelitian, penulis melihat motif di mana unsur sensualitas, seksualitas, dan erotisme sangat menonjol dalam ketiga video klip tersebut. Apakah hal tersebut menunjukkan sebuah emansipasi atau hanya sekedar eksploitasi dan objektifikasi belaka?Penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif yang mengacu pada teori-teori feminisme, khususnya feminisme gelombang ketiga. Penulisan ini dibuat untuk mengungkap pesan-pesan di balik berbagai bentuk ekspresi kebebasan yang ada dalam ketiga video klip Lady Gaga tersebut. Pada akhirnya kata emansipasi pun menjadi kunci jawaban dalam permasalahan ini.ABSTRACT

This study discuss about how gender and women?s sexuality are shown in Lady Gaga?s music videos .The evolution of music which nowadays has visualized in a form of music video in television becomes the background of this problem. We can know the messages of the song easily.

The corpus of this study is taken from Lady Gaga?s music videos entitled Telephone, Bad Romance, and Alejandro which frequently aired in MTV a couple years ago. In this research, there are some motifs which the three elements; sensuality, sexuality, and eroticism become dominant in these videos. The question is Are these three elements show emancipation or objectification and exploitation?

This study uses qualitative descriptive interpretive which refer to feminism theories especially third wave feminism. The purpose of this study is to reveal the messages behind Gaga?s freedom of expressions in these videos. Finally, the emancipation word becomes the key of the answer."
