dan Keterbukaan (改革开放Gǎigé kāifàng) yang diprakarsai Deng Xiaoping (邓小平
Kebijakan-kebijakan ekonomi seperti FDI (foreign direct investment), perdagangan luar
semakin memperburuk kondisi ekonomi negara.

ABSTRACT
People's Republic of China (PRC) is known as one of the world's economic powerhouse.
The current economic power of the PRC can be obtained because of the Reform and
Opening Up (改革开放Gǎigé kāifàng) initiated by Deng Xiaoping (邓小平Dèng
Xiǎopíng) in 1978 by adopting the socialist market economy model. Economic policies
such as FDI (Foreign Direct Investment), foreign trade, Special Economic Zones, etc.
certainly had positive impacts on China's economic growth at that time. Nevertheless, the
economic condition of the PRC which was in a transition period was very volatile and
caused economic instability. Economic instability, corruption, and demands for
democracy and political freedom triggered the Tian'anmen incident in 1989 which further
worsened the country's economic condition. Although Deng Xiaoping had resigned from
all of his political activities after the Tian'anmen incident, he continued to carry out his
economic agenda by undertaking "Southern Tour" (南巡Nán xún) in 1992. "Southern
Tour" was said to succeed in strengthening economic reforms again and increasing PRC's
economic growth. This research will discuss the background of Deng Xiaoping carrying
out the "Southern Tour", what Deng Xiaoping did during the "Southern Tour", and
analyzing its ties with the PRC's economic growth until now."

Miller, Steve
"Steve Miller provides us with a tour through the chemical evolution of the universe, from the formation of the first molecules all the way to the chemicals required for life to evolve. Using a simple Hydrogen molecule, known as H-three-plus, as a guide, he takes us on a journey that starts with the birth of the first stars, and how, in dying, they pour their hearts out into enriching the universe in which we live. Our molecular guide makes its first appearance at the source of the Chemical Cosmos, at a time when only three elements and a total of 11 molecules existed. From those simple beginnings, H-three-plus guides us down river on the violent currents of exploding stars, through the streams of the Interstellar Medium, and into the delta where new stars and planets form. We are finally left on the shores of the sea of life. Along the way, we meet the key characters who have shaped our understanding of the chemistry of the universe, such as Cambridge physicist J.J. Thomson and the Chicago chemist Takeshi Oka. And we are given an insider’s view of just how astronomers, making use of telescopes and Earth-orbiting satellites, have put together our modern view of the chemical cosmos.
