"Skripsi ini membahas tentang penerapan teori Brian McHale untuk membuktikan keberadaan unsur-unsur posmodernisme dalam novel Ночной Дозор (Penjaga Malam) karya Sergey Lukyanenko. Untuk membuktikan argumen utama penelitian ini yaitu novel Ночной Дозор (Penjaga Malam) mengandung unsur- unsur posmodernisme yang lebih dominan sehingga dapat digolongkan ke dalam novel beraliran posmodernisme, digunakan teori posmodernisme dan metode deskriptif analitis. Hasil analisis menyimpulkan bahwa novel Ночной Дозор adalah novel yang beraliran posmodernisme.

This thesis studies about the application of the theory by Brian McHale in order to prove the existence of postmodernism elements within the novel Ночной Дозор (Night Watch) by Sergey Lukyanenko. Postmodern theory and descriptive analysis method are used in proving the main argument of this study which stating that novel Ночной Дозор (Night Watch) can be classified into a postmodernism novel because it is dominated by postmodernism elements. The analysis result concludes that the novel Ночной Дозор is a postmodernism novel."

"Penelitian ini membahas sebuah karya sastra pasca Uni Soviet yaitu novel yang berjudul Ночной Дозор (Penjaga Malam) karya Segey Lukyanenko. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan bahwa tokoh Anton dalam novel tersebut merupakan refleksi diri dari pengarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan. Kemudian peneliti menggunakan teori sosiologi sastra Swingewood untuk melengkapi penelitian ini. Melalui teori tersebut, ditemukan dialog-dialog dalam novel Ночной Дозор yang mencerminkan Sergey, dan juga menggambarkan kondisi keterbukaan Rusia saat itu. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa tokoh Anton merupakan cerminan diri Sergey Lukyanenko, dan juga membuktikan bahwa pengarang mencoba menunjukkan masuknya produk luar, khususnya Barat ke Rusia.

This research discusses a literary work after the Soviet Union, namely a novel entitled Ночной Дозор (Guard of the Night) by Segey Lukyanenko. The purpose of this research is to prove that Anton`s character in the novel is a self-reflection of the author. This research uses the literature study method. Then the researchers used Swingewood's sociology of literary theory to complement this research. Through this theory, dialogues were found in the novel Ночной Дозор which reflected Sergey, and also described the conditions of Russian openness at that time. The results of this research prove that Anton's character is a reflection of Sergey Lukyanenko, and also proves that the author tries to show the entry of foreign products, especially the West to Russia."

"Makalah ini membahas beberapa unsur postmodernisme dalam "Bad Romance" klip video dan bagaimana klip video terkait dengan beberapa teori posmodernisme. Saat ini, unsur-unsur posmodernisme dapat terlihat jelas dalam kehidupan kita sehari-hari, seperti dari media. Video klip, "Bad Romance", adalah contoh dari media yang mengandung beberapa unsur posmodernisme. Klip video ini sering ditampilkan di televisi hari ini, sehingga unsur posmodernisme dapat didistribusikan melalui video klip. Ada dua poin utama yang muncul dalam tulisan ini. Pertama, makalah ini menunjukkan beberapa karakteristik posmodernisme dalam "Bad Romance" seperti subversi, pelanggaran, insiden kekerasan, suasana intelektual, berbagai ekspresi budaya, manifestasi dari ketidakstabilan, pertentangan ketidakstabilan, kebimbangan antara definisi dan penghapusan, bentuk kontingensi dan negosiasi dan oposisi yang kuat untuk hirarki dan otoritas. Kedua, "Bad Romance" dapat dikatakan sebagai contoh posmodernisme dalam media melalui tulisan ini. Teori-teori posmodernisme oleh Sarup (1993), Brooks (2009), dan Kaye (1994) digunakan untuk membantu peneliti untuk menemukan unsur-unsur posmodernisme dalam video klip, "Bad Romance".

This paper examines some elements of postmodernism in ?Bad Romance? video clip and how the video clip is related to some postmodernism theories. Nowadays, the elements of postmodernism can be clearly seen in our daily life, such as from the media. This video clip, ?Bad Romance?, is an example of media that contains some elements of postmodernism. This video clip is often shown on today?s television, so that the elements of postmodernism can be distributed through this video clip. There are two main points that appear in this paper. First, this paper shows some characteristics of postmodernism in "Bad Romance" such as the subversion, transgression, violent incident, intellectual mood, array of cultural expressions, manifestation of an instability, contention of instability, vacillation between the definition and removal, form of contingency and negotiation and strong opposition to hierarchy and authority. Second, ?Bad Romance? can be said as an example of postmodernism in media through this paper. The theories of postmodernism by Sarup (1993), Brooks (2009), and Kaye (1994) are used to help the researcher in order to find the elements of postmodernism in the video clip, "Bad Romance"."

"ABSTRAKMakalah ini didasari oleh konsep pastiche sebagai salah satu idiom dalam wacana estetik posmodernisme, terutama mengenai penerapannya dalam film sebagai karya seni dalam budaya populer. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis unsur-unsur dalam film Pulp Fiction yang disutradarai oleh Quentin Tarantino yang sesuai dengan konsep pastiche. Unsur-unsur dalam film tersebut ialah judul film, adegan krusial di Jack Rabbit Slim’s, kostum pemain, shot dalam beberapa adegan, dan kalimat-kalimat dalam naskah film. Metode pengumpulan data yang dilakukan ialah melalui studi literatur melalui buku referensi untuk memenuhi kelengkapan tinjauan teoritis, melalui artikel-artikel di internet untuk melengkapi analisis, serta dengan menonton langsung film Pulp Fiction beserta beberapa film rujukan lain. Kesimpulan dari penulisan makalah ini menunjukan bahwa film Pulp Fiction mengandung sejumlah rujukan dari film-film terdahulu dan mengangkat sejumlah budaya pop pada film terdahulu.

ABSTRACTThis paper based on the concept of pastiche as one of an idiom in posmodernism aesthetic discourse., especially about its application in film as an artwork in popular culture. This paper aims to anayze some elements of the Pulp Fiction film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino which are matched with the concept of pastiche. The elements of this films are: the title of the film, Jack Rabbit Slim’s crucial scene, costumes of the casts, some shots in scenes, and lines in film. The methods used for the analysis are done through literature studies, browsing on internet articles, and directly watching the Pulp Fiction film and its other reference films. The conclusion of this paper shows Pulp Fiction contains some references from past films and pays homage to some pop cultures in past films.;"
