"ABSTRAK
Gliklazid (GL) merupakan obat hipoglikemia oral golongan sulfonilurea generasi kedua yang digunakan untuk perawatan diabetes mellitus tidak tergantung insulin. Permasalahan utama dalam formulasi gliklazid adalah sifat kelarutannya yang sangat rendah dalam air sehingga membatasi absorpsinya. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk meningkatkan laju disolusi gliklazid dengan membentuk kompleks inklusi dengan beta siklodekstrin. Pembuatan kompleks inklusi dilakukan dengan metode kneading dan spray drying. FTIR, XRD, dan DSC digunakan untuk mengkarakterisasi kompleks inklusi gliklazid-beta siklodekstrin. Laju disolusi gliklazid dan kompleks inklusi diuji dalam medium HCl dan dapar fosfat. Hasil analisis kompleks dengan FTIR, XRD, dan DSC menunjukkan terjadinya penurunan derajat kristalinitas dan terbentuknya kompleks inklusi. Pembentukan kompleks inklusi metode kneading dapat meningkatkan laju disolusi dari serbuk sebesar 7,5 kali dan dari tablet sebesar 4,3 kali.

ABSTRACT
Gliclazide (GL) is a second-generation sulphonylurea of hypoglicemia drug which is used for nor insulin independent diabetes mellitus treatment. Primary problem in gliclazide formulation is its low solubility in water that limits its absorption. This study is intended to enhance the dissolution rate of gliclazide by forming inclusion complexes with beta cyclodextrin. Inclusion complexes were made by kneading and spray drying method. FTIR, XRD, and DSC were used to characterize inclusion complexes of gliclazide-beta cyclodextrin. Dissolution rate of gliclazide and inclusion complexes were examined in HCl and buffer phosphate pH 6,8. Analysis result of complexes with FTIR, XRD, and DSC showed reduction degree of cristallinity and formation of inclusion complexes. Formation of inclusion complexes kneading method could increase dissolution rate from powder's form about 7,5 times and from tablet dosage form about 4,3 times. "
