"Virtual kitchen merupakan restoran atau bisnis berfokus pada menghasilkan makanan untuk dibawa pulang dan mereka tidak menyediakan fasilitas makan di tempat. Virtual kitchen juga menjadi salah satu bagian dari home-based internet business, yang berarti bisa dijalankan dari rumah dengan bantuan internet. Masa pandemi COVID-19 ini mengakibatkan banyak yang menjalani virtual kitchen dari rumah tinggalnya. Ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya interupsi aktivitas bisnis yang masuk ke dalam domestik mengakibatkan terbentuknya ruang-ruang dan respon dari hubungan antar aktivitas. Dari pemahaman teori vita activa, studi kasus menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga aktivitas yang hadir di rumah tinggal, work, labor, dan action. Aktivitas labor dan work dapat dilakukan berdampingan dan dapat menimbulkan konflik. Respon dari konflik yang dihasilkan dipengaruhi seberapa besar aktivitas itu memakan ruang dan menentukan apakah perlu pemisahan secara waktu atau fisik. Aktivitas action hanya muncul di dunia maya dan ketika menggunakan perangkat dan sebagian besar tidak menimbulkan konflik dengan aktivitas lainnya. Dalam melaksanakan aktivitas action, perangkat yang digunakan juga berpengaruh dalam seberapa besar ruang digunakan. Pengaruh dunia maya terhadap ruang juga memunculkan adanya social realmyang muncul di dalam rumah.

Virtual kitchen is a restaurant or a business that focus on making take-away food and do not serve dine-in facilities. Virtual kitchen is also a part of the home-based internet business, which means that it can be run from home with the help of internet. COVID-19 pandemic has created people that do virtual kitchen in their residential home. This shows that there is an interruption of business activity that comes into the domestic and create spaces and response from the connection between activities. From the perspective of vita activa, study cases has shown that there is three kinds of activities that appear in residential home that runs virtual kitchen, work, labor, and action. Work and labor activities can be done side by side or creating a conflict. The response from conflict is influenced by how big the activities is taking up space and is deciding whether it should need a physical or a time seperation. Action activities only shows in cyberspace and when they use device and most of them does not bring conflict to other activities. When doing action activities, device that being use give some influences to how much space is taken up. Influence by the cyberspace towards physical space is bringing the social realm into residential home."

"Salah satu hunian yang kian digemari oleh masyarakat Jakarta saat ini adalah apartemen. Meskipun hunian apartemen identik dengan keterbatasan ruang, namun keberadaan dapur tetap bersifak mutlak. Dapur disebut sebagai pusat dari suatu rumah tinggal dan memiliki peran sebagai ruang sosial pada rumah. Kitchen said to be the center of a house and it also having a role as social space. In fact, because of limited space and the inhabitants lifestyle, the role of kitchen in apartment is merely as a place for cooking.
