ABSTRAKTesis ini mengulas keterikatan tempat (place attachment) pada orang-orang
Bojong, Kelurahan Pondokcina, Kota Depok atas lingkungan tempat tinggal
mereka dalam konteks transformasi socio-ekonomi dan perubahan lanskap fisik
akibat pembangunan kota. Dalam deskripsi etnografis yang saya gambarkan,
perubahan tersebut dilihat oleh orang Bojong dalam oposisi rural-urban yang
dikontraskan tak hanya dalam bayangan spasial namun juga temporal.
Pertumbuhan kota lantas dievaluasi secara moral melalui oposisi tersebut dimana
kota dibayangkan dalam situasi degradasi moral yang bersitegang dengan
idealisasi rural sebagai lokus kohesi sosial. Dengan menggunakan perspektif
lanskap, tempat dilihat dalam konstruksi sosialnya dimana persitegangan antara
setting yang diidealisasikan dalam imaji (background) dan aktualisasi yang
tertuang dalam kehidupan nyata (foreground) terjadi dalam mengondisikan
pengalaman keterikatan orang pada tempat. Dalam penelitian ini space of place
tetap hadir sebagai sebuah potensialitas dalam menghadapi perubahan-perubahan
yang terjadi dalam pertumbuhan kota. Lebih lanjut, lanskap merupakan mnemonic
device dari relasi sosial dimana dalam materialitasnya terkandung akumulasi dari
tindakan resiprositas yang secara kontinyu direkognisi dan direkonstitusi melalui
narasi dan praxis.
ABSTRACTThis thesis elaborate the anthropological discussion of place attachment among
the Bojong peoples, Pondokcina District, Depok City, within their locales they
occupy in the context of socio-economic transformation and physical landscape
changes as a consequences of city’s growth. Within the ethnographic description I
explore how those changes perceived by Bojong peoples with the opposition of
rural-urban which contrasted spatially and temporally. Hence, the city’s growth
was being evaluated morally by using that opposition. Using ‘landscape’
perspective, I am trying to explain how places are perceived as social construction
in which involving a tension between idealized or imagined (background) against
the actuality of everyday, real, ordinary life is cast (foreground). In this research,
space of place apparently still exists as a potentiality against the changes in the
city’s growth. Furthermore, in the elaborations, landscapes play a role as
mnemonic device of social relation in which within its materiality contains the
accumulation of the act of reciprocity that has to be recognized and reconstituted
continually through narrations and praxis."
