"This monograph presents computational models that describe electro-mechanical characteristics of tapered and cylinder roller bearings in various industrial applications. Applying the Levenberg-Marquardts algorithm to solving strongly nonlinear coupled equation systems, the computational models consisting of many circular slices per rolling element enable computations of the local Hertzian pressures at the elastohydrodynamic (EHD) contact area, the relating oil-film thickness in elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL), the limiting voltage of electro-pitting, bearing frictions, and fatigue lifetimes of the bearings for various load spectra. Using the best-known machine-learning method for clustering, the load spectrum is clustered in k cluster means based on the invariant damage number to accelerate the load spectrum. Furthermore, the accelerated load spectrum is used for the testing procedure of the bearings to reduce the testing time and costs as well."

"The performance of ball bearings is strongly influenced by the lubrication system. In this research, the development of a lubrication system was performed by the formation of an interlocking system through a composite coating, i.e. Zn3(PO4)2 / MoS2 / MWCNT / nanographite / Na2SiO3 prepared by chemical immersion. The coating was applied through the one-mixing-layer and multi-layer techniques. The results showed that the one-mixing-layer technique has the ability to form an homogeneous thin layer with a surface roughness index that varies between 1.00 µm and 1.35 µm, whereas the thickness of the composite layers was found to be in the range from 5 µm to 6 µm. The multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) technique increased the interlocking capabilities of the coating and the solid lubricant. The one-mixing-layer technique indicated better results than that of multi-layer coated balls in terms of distribution and uniformity of elements on the coating surface, good interlocking between the composite compounds, and the thickness of the layer formed. The performance of nanocomposite coatings on the friction of the steel balls also showed that the ball bearings with a one-mixing-layer composite coating have a higher wear resistance than that of both the uncoated and the multi-layer coated ball bearings."

"ABSTRAK
Proses semprot logam merupakan suatu proses perlakuan permukaan untuk memperoleh ketahanan aus yang lebih baik dari logam induknya dan bisa juga untuk memperbaiki dimensi material yang mengalami pengecilan. Pada penelitian iui digunrakan paduan babbitt sebagai umpan dalam bentuk umpan kawat yang dicairkan oleh nyala api dari gas oksigen-asetilen. Paduan babbit itu sering digunakan sebagai bantalan karena memiliki sifat tahan aus dan bersifat sebagai pelumas.
Dalam penelitian ini digunakan dua parameter proses semprot logam yaitu kecepatan umpan dan jarak semprot. Adapun kecepatan umpan yang dicimbil adalah 1/54 m/det dan 1/61 m/det, dengan jarak semprot 7,63, 12,70, 17,78 cm. Dari parameter tersebut dapat dipelajari karakteristlik hasil pelapisan dengan melakukan pengujian kekerasan, porositas dan keausan.
Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa kekerasan terlinggi dan ketahanan aus tertinggi yang diperoleh dari deposit lapisan babbitt dicapai pada kondisi dengan kecepatan umpan 1/64 m/det dengan jarak penyemprotan 12, 70 cm."
