"[Ebi merupakan udang kering berukuran kecil yang dapat dikonsumsi secara
keseluruhan. Ebi diduga memiliki kadar kalsium tinggi meski belum ada penelitian
spesifik pada genus tertentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kadar kalsium pada
Metapenaeus sp. secara akurat serta menganalisis pengaruh metode preparasi (oven
dan non oven) dan metode isolasi (pengocokan, digesti asam, dan pengabuan)
terhadap pengukuran dengan ISE dan AAS. Hasil pengukuran didapatkan kadar
kalsium tertinggi 6.769 ppm (oven) dan 7.785 ppm (non oven) dengan isolasi terbaik
adalah digesti asam. Terdapat perbedaan serta korelasi kadar kalsium antar metode
preparasi dan isolasi, sehingga disimpulkan kedua metode berpengaruh terhadap
pengukuran kadar kalsium ebi.;Ebi is dried small sized shrimp consumed as a whole. Ebi is assumed to have high
calcium level even there has been no research on specific genus yet. This research

"Ha Lam usaha mencari sumber sterol yang potensial
sebagai bahan dasar untuk memproduksi hormon steroid,
telah diteliti kepaia udang putih (Penaeus merguiensis).
Panelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan menilai
kemungkinan penerapan metoda enziinatik CHOD-PAP terhadap
udang dengan pereaksi siap pakai C reagen Kit ) yang
digunakan untuk penetapan kadar Kolesterol dalam darah.
sebagai pembanding digunakan metode Kromatograf i Gas
dengan fase diam SE-30 5 % pada Chromosorb W-HP dan
temperatur kolom 260°C. Juga untuk menentukan bentuk
Kolesterol dalam udang, dalam bentuk yang larut dalaia
air atau tidaJ^ serta untuk mengetahui apakah pereaksi
enzimatik CHOD-PAP dapat bereaksi dengan Fitosterol.
Dengan metode enzimatik CHOD-PAP dan Kromatografi
Gas diperoleh kadar Kolesterol dalam ekstrak eter
2,08 ± 0,55 dan 2,07 ± 0,41 mg/g sampel. Dengan metoda
enzimatik CHOD-PAP dan Kromatografi Gas diperoleh kadar
Kolesterol dalam ekstrak air 1,98 ± 0,34 dan 1,82 ±
0,31 mg/g sampel. n
Pada ekstraksi Kolesterol dengan eter diduga
ada zat yang mengganggu penetapan kadarnya secara enzima
tik CHOD-PAP sehingga disimpulkan bahwa metoda ini belum
dapat digunakan untuk ekstrak eter.
Kolesterol dalam udang berada dalam bentuk yang
larut dalam air ± 90 %. Fitosterol ternyata dapat bereaksi dengan pereaksi enzimatik CHOD-PAP sehingga reagen
ini tidak spesifik untuk penetapan kadar Kolesterol.

To seek potential sources of sterols as raw
material to produce steroid hormones, head of white
shrimp ( Penaeus merguiensis ) has been investigated.
The investigation is done for evaluating the
possibility of application of CHOD-PAP enzyifiatic method
on shrimp using ready for use x'eagent available for
the determination of Cholesterol in sera. As a standard
Gas Chromatogreiphic method is used with SE-30 5 % on
Chromosorb W-HP, column temperature 250°C. To know
whether CHOD-PAP enzymatic reagent could react with
Phytosterols.
By enzimatic CHOD-PAP and Gas Chromatographic
methods on the ether extract Cholesterol contents of
2,08 ± 0,55 and 2,07 ± 0,41 mg/g sample were obtained.
By enzymatic CHOD-PAP and Gas Chromatograpic methods
on the water extract Cholesterol contents of 1,98 ±
0,34 and 1,82 ± 0,31 mg/g sample were obtained.
When extracted with ether, a substance
interfering with CHOD-PAP enzymatic determination
seemed to be present so that it' s concluded that this
method couldn't be used yet for the ether extract.
Cholesterol in shrimp exists in soluble form for about
90 %. Infact, Fhytosterol could react with enzymatic
CHOD-F•? reagent so that this reagent isn ^ t spesific
for detexmsination of Cholesterol.

"Isolation of total sterol from waste product of soy bean cake has been conducted, followed by biotransformation to 1,4-androstadien-3,17-dione (ADD). The waste product consist of; β-sitosterol, stigmasterol, kaemfesterol, which are isolated by column chromatography technique using silica gel as stationary phase and chloroform as mobile phase. Biotransformation was conducted by using Mycobacterium phlei DSM 43286 in the present of α, α?- dipiridil as an inhibitor with concentration of 0,5; 1; 1,5; 2,0 mM. The main product of biotransformation were ADD and pregnenolon. The optimum yield of ADD 0,48% is achieved by adding 1,5 mM α, α?- dipiridil are two hours after addition of substrate and 72 hours of incubation time."
