"ABSTRAKPeristiwa pengeboman beberapa gereja di Surabaya tahun 2018 merupakan salah satu aksi teroris yang paling besar di Indonesia terhadap suatu komunitas keagamaan tertentu. Melalui perantaraan media, berita mengenai terorisme dapat tersebar ke seluruh penjuru negeri. Penelitian ini berusaha melihat bagaimana pengaruh kultivasi media televisi terhadap respons fear of crime yang dialami jemaat gereja yang berlokasi di Sukatani, Depok. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sebanyak 97 orang responden dalam penelitian ini merupakan jemaat gereja Kuasi Paroki Bunda Maria Ratu yang berusia di atas 18 tahun dan aktif pergi ke gereja. Hasil uji chi square menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara variabel kultivasi media televisi dan variabel respons. Hasil dari uji korelasi juga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan dengan kekuatan yang lemah antara variabel kultivasi media televisi dan variabel respons fear of crime dengan nilai r 0,285 dan arah hubungan yang positif. Sedangkan, dari keempat dimensi fear of crime yang diujikan, responden cenderung mengalami communicative behavior sebagai respon dari fear of crime yang dirasakannya.

ABSTRACTThe bombing of several churches on Surabaya in 2018 is one of the biggest terrorist acts in Indonesia towards religious community. Through media, news about terrorism can be spread throughout the country. This study try to see how is the influence of television media cultivation on fear of crime responses experienced by the church members which located in Depok. The study is conducted with quantitative approach. The total of 97 respondents in this study were Kuasi Paroki Bunda Maria Ratu church members who were over 18 years old and actively went to church. The results of the chi square test show that there is a relationship between television media cultivation variables and fear of crime responses variables. The results of the correlation test also show that there is a relationship with a weak correlation between television media cultivation variables and the fear of crime response variable with an r value of 0.285 and the direction of a positive relationship. Meanwhile, from the four dimensions of fear of crime that were tested, respondents tended to experience communicative behavior as a response to the fear of crime they felt."
