"This resource provides an integrated and comprehensive overview of modern approaches to drug lead discovery. Each chapter in this book reviews the theoretical background and application of a key technology in drug discovery, complemented by relevant case studies. The coverage includes the key approaches for drug design and discovery, high-throughput screening, fragment screening, multi-target drugs, de novo design, ADMET, natural products. This cutting-edge reference helps medicinal chemists in biotech, pharmaceutical, and other research contexts consider all possible avenues in starting their drug research programs."

"This first systematic summary of the impact of fragment-based approaches on the drug development process provides essential information that was previously unavailable. Adopting a practice-oriented approach, this represents a book by professionals for professionals, tailor-made for drug developers in the pharma and biotech sector who need to keep up-to-date on the latest technologies and strategies in pharmaceutical ligand design. The book is clearly divided into three sections on ligand design, spectroscopic techniques, and screening and drug discovery, backed by numerous case studies."

Opioids use disorders are chronic relapsing diseases with many negative consequences on economic, personal, and public health. Psychiatric and general medical comorbidity were high among opioids users. Long term buprenorphine maintenance had been proven could increase patient's functioning and quality of life. Recommended length in order to achieve clinical benefits was 12 months. The overt positive impacts were decreases in frequency of using, high-risk using behavior, mortality, and criminal behavior. This cross-sectional study aimed to identify the relationship between psychopatology, retention in therapy, and quality of life of buprenorphine maintenance therapy patients in Jakarta Drug Dependence Hospital. The period of observation was on March to May 2019 to samples chosen by simple-random. The instruments used were WHOQOL-BREF and SCL-90, to measure quality of life and psychopatology, respectively. For treatment retention status sample were divided into 2 groups (the up-to-1-year group and the more-than-1-year group). Of the 105 samples, the majority were males with mean age of 39 y.o., married, high-school graduated, and part-timers, also 40.9% of them already had psychopatologies. There was a significant relationship between quality of life and the existance of psychopatology. Psychological and social and environmental relationship domains of quality of life were significantly higher on without-psychopatology group. This finding is similar to other studies whom found that there was a relationship between psychopatology and quality of life. Most samples (97.1%) had retained for at least more than 1 year in therapy, with average of 4 years. No difference in each domains of quality of life found between groups (p >0.05). This may be influenced by the small number of samples whom had retained for at least 1 year. Long-term study on buprenorphine therapy effectivity and medication adherence with more varied samples needs to be conducted."
