"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas novel seorang pengarang Indonesia, yaitu Clara Ng yangberjudul Tea for Two (2010). Novel Tea for Two menampilkan tema kekerasandalam rumah tangga yang menjadi isu dalam novel. Untuk itu, penelitian ini akanberfokus pada proses internalisasi ideologi gender pada tokoh utama dalam novelyaitu Sassy, dengan menggunakan pendekatan Habitus dan Gender. Dalampenelitian ini ditemukan bahwa latar belakang budaya patriarkis membentuk polapikir tokoh perempuan sehingga menginternalisasi secara ideologis yangmenyebabkan tokoh utama perempuan dalam novel ini mengalami kekerasansimbolik maupun kekerasan fisik dalam rumah tangganya. Dengan demikian,relasi yang terbentuk adalah relasi ketidaksetaraan antara laki-laki dan perempuanserta menampilkan laki-laki sebagai pihak yang dominan.

ABSTRACTThis research discusses a novel by Clara Ng, a female author fromIndonesia, titled Tea for Two (2010). The Novel expressed domestic violence inhousehold which is increasingly prevalent and became an issue in Indonesiansociety. Therefore, this study focused on the process of internalization of genderideology on female characters in the novel with Habitus and Gender approach.This research found that the cultural background of patriarchal formed mindset ofwomen and ideologically internalized so the female characters in this novelexperienced a symbolic and physical violence in the household. Thus, a relationthat is formed is an inequality between men and women and show men as thedominant party."
