"Both developing countries and those in transition struggle to meet the health needs of their populations with minimal resources available. Planning by the public sector should enable decisions to be made, but is often poorly practised. This book provides accessible techniques to improve planning processes and puts this in the wider global context."

This research examines the creation of a digital safe space for young people in the context of a bold search for mental health services. Digital safe space or a place without discrimination, criticism, and for its participants, is a social phenomenon that responds to mental health in various countries including Indonesia. In Indonesia, mental health is a taboo subject and stigmatized by society, this causes people with mental health to have daily practices to form and interpret digital spaces that facilitate peer discussion. This study aims to understand the internal practice and meaning of a digital safe space that provides a comfortable feeling when its users interact. Through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions, this research argues that the practices that make up a digital safe space are a tactic for young Jakartans to survive day-to-day in the midst of taboos and stigma about mental health. Using de Certeau's (1984) framework, individuals have tactics in their daily lives, one of which is through the power to leave or create new spatial elements in order to survive. This practice involves equal and mutual social relationships, applying amateur psychotherapy so that it is a comfortable experience for young people participating in digital safe spaces."

"The promotion of maternal health and mortality reduction is of worldwide importance, and constitutes a vital part of the UN Millennium Development Goals. The highest maternal mortality rates are in developing countries, where global and regional initiatives are needed to improve the systems and practices involved in maternal care and medical access. Taking a practical policy approach, this book covers the background and concepts underlying efforts to improve maternal and perinatal mortality, the current global situation and problems that prevent progress. It includes case studies and examples."
