"ABSTRAK
Band Pass Filter (BPF) memiliki peran penting dalam banyak aplikasi Radio
Frekuensi (RF). BPF digunakan untuk memisahkan frekuensi yang berbeda. Hal ini
disebabkan Spektrum elektromagnetik merupakan sumberdaya terbatas sehingga
harus dibagi. BPF digunakan untuk memilih sinyal RF dalam frekuensi kerjanya.
Berbagai aplikasi komunikasi nirkabel terus muncul dan mengharapkan kinerja filter
RF dengan kinerja yang tinggi dan ukuran yang lebih kecil. Proyek ini mempelajari
prinsip mikro-strip bandpass RF filter. Metode yang digunakan Tangga dan Hairpin.
Jenis Chebysev dengan orde 5 dan ripple sebesar 0,01 dB. Sistem ini disimulasikan
dalam software Desain Advanced System (ADS), kemudian di pabrikasi dan diukur
untuk memvalidasi desain. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang Microstrip
filter bandpass untuk Automatic Dependent Surveilance Broadcast (ADS-B)
dengan Frekuensi Pusat 1090 MHz menggunakan Ladder dan Metode Hairpin dan
kemudian membandingkan kedua metode untuk memperoleh kinerja yang lebih
tinggi dan ukuran yang lebih kecil.

ABSTRACT
Band Pass Filters has an important role in many Radio Frequency (RF) applications.
They are used to separate different frequencies. The electromagnetic spectrum is
limited and has to be shared; filters are used to select the RF signals within assigned
spectral limits. Emerging applications such as wireless communications continue to
challenge RF filters with ever more stringent requirements—higher performance and
smaller size. This project studied the principle of micro-strip RF bandpass filter. The
method used the Ladder and Hairpin. The Chebysev type with order 5 and ripple of
0.01 dB was used. The system is simulated in software Advanced Design System
(ADS), fabricated and measured for validate the design. The objectives are to
design Micro-strip bandpass filter for Automatic Dependent Surveilance Broadcast
(ADS-B) with Frequency Center 1090 MHz using Ladder and Hairpin Method and
then compare the both methods for obtain higher performance and smaller size."

"Beberapa tahun terakhir, studi mengenai antena mikrostrip memiliki ketertarikan yang besar pada rancang bangun antena untuk peralatan komunikasi nirkabel karena karakateristiknya yang menjanjikan, seperti ringan, kecil, dan mudah untuk diintegrasikan dengan peralatan lain. Skripsi ini akan menginvestigasi antenna mikrostrip segitiga yang dikombinasikan dengan struktur metamaterial guna mendapatkan karakteristik gain yang tinggi. Pada studi ini, sebuah elemen tunggal dan dua elemen susun yang ditumpuk dengan struktur metamaterial digunakan untuk menghasilkan frekuensi tengah pada 2,35 GHz dengan bandwidth yang mencukupi untuk aplikasi Long Term Evolution (LTE). Antena ini dianalisis secara numeric dengan Finite Integration Technique (FIT) pada simulasinya.
Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa antena bekerja pada frekuensi 2,29-2,39 GHz dengan bandwidth 96 MHz, return loss -25,06 dB pada frekuensi tengah, dan gain 3,2 dBi untuk single elemen. Pada dua elemen susun antena bekerja pada 2,31-2,38 GHz dengan bandwidth 64 MHz, return loss -14,57 dB pada frekuensi tengah, dan gain 5,4 dBi. Guna mendapatkan kinerja tinggi pada antena, dua elemen susun ditumpuk dengan struktur metamaterial. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan antena bekerja pada 2,29-2,39 GHz dengan bandwidth 101 MHz, return loss -22,39 dB pada frekuensi tengah, dan gain 9,1 dBi.
Setelah simulasi terlaksana, antena-antena tersebut difabrikasi dan divalidasi dengan pengukuran yang dilakukan di Anechoic Chamber. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan, dua elemen susun bekerja pada 2,31-2,37 GHz dengan bandwidth 60 MHz, return loss -18,93 dB pada frekuensi tengah, dan gain 5,02 dBi. Sebagai tambahan, struktur metamaterial dipasang di atas antena susun, antena bisa bekerja pada 2,24-2,35 GHz dengan bandwidth 111 MHz, return loss –11,98 dB pada frekuensi tengah, dan gain 8,9 dBi. Maka, penggunaan struktur metamaterial yang ditumpuk diatas antena, gain bisa ditingkatkan menjadi 8,9 dBi atau terjadi peningkatan 3,8 dBi.

In recent years, the study of microstrip antennas have been great interest in most of antenna design for wireless communication devices due to it's promising characteristics such as light weight, compact, small, and easy to be integrated with other devices. This thesis will investigate a triangular microstrip antenna which is combined with metamaterial structure in order to obtain high gain characteristic. In this study, a single element and two-element array antenna with stacked metamaterial structure are proposed in order to generate the center frequency at 2.35 GHz with sufficient bandwidth for Long Term Evolution (LTE) application. The antenna is numerically analyzed by using the Finite Integration Technique (FIT) during simulation.
The simulation results show that the antenna works at 2.29-2.39 GHz with the bandwidth 96 MHz, return loss -25.06 at the center frequency, and the gain 3.2 dBi for single element. As for two-element array works at 2.312.38 GHz with the bandwidth 64 MHz, return loss -14.57 dB at the center frequency, and the gain 5.4 dBi. In order to obtain high performance of the antenna, the two-element array is stacked by a metamaterial structure. The simulation results show the antenna works at 2.292.39 GHz with bandwidth 101 MHz, return loss -22.39 dB at the center frequency, and the gain 9.1 dBi.
Having conducted the simulation, the antennas have been fabricated and validated by the measurement, which is performed in an Anechoic Chamber. The measurement results show that two-element array works at 2.312.37 GHz with the bandwith 60 MHz, return loss -18.93 dB at the center frequency, and the gain 5.02 dBi. In addition, when the metamaterial structure is installed on the top of the array, it works at 2.242.35 GHz with the bandwidth 111 MHz, return loss - 11.98 dB at the center frequency, and the gain 8.9 dBi. Therefore, by using a a metamaterial structure that is stacked on the top of the antenna, the gain can be increased up to 8.9 dBi or about 3.8 dB improvement.

"Standar WiMAX, dengan kelebihannya mampu menyalurkan data kecepatan tinggi (sampai 75 Mbps) dengan jarak jangkau sampai 50 km, dan mampu mengatasi konsidi Non Line Of Sight (NLOS), sangat potensial diimplementasikan di Indonesia yang rnasih memiliki kesenjangan infrastruktur telekomunikasi. WiMAX dapat difungsikan untuk mendukung percepatan pembangunan infrastruktur akses, menutup kelemahan WiFi, atau sebagai solusi altematif bahckhaul komunikasi selular. Kelebihan lain standar WiMAX adalah kemampuan interoperability, yang pada implementasinya diharapkan mampu menyebabkan terjadinya kompetisi penyediaan perangkat sehingga bisa menurunkan tingkat harga.
Melalui pembahasan beberapa kelebihan di atas, pada tesis ini dianalisa implikasi ekonomis (economic analysis) dari implementasi WiMAX, khususnya terhadap perencanaan investasi dan penurunan tarif layanan kepada pelanggan. Pembahasan didekati dengan beberapa asumsi perencanaan teknis yang sesuai dan prediksi penetrasi pasar berdasarkan kondisi geografi dan demografi. Kemudian dilakukan analisa terhadap kelayakan investasi dan pengaruhnya terhadap cost base jaringan, serta beberapa simulasi terhadap prediksi penurunan harga perangkat.
Dari hasil analisa dan simulasi disimpulkan kondisi optimum secara ekonomis dan pengaruh penurunan harga perangkat terhadap penurunan tingkat harga layanan kepada pengguna.
WiMAX standard, with its advantages in delivering high speed data (up to 75 Mbps), covering with radius up to 50 km, and ability of handling Non Line Of Sight (NLOS) conditions, has big opportunity to deploy on the country with vast infrastructure gap like Indonesia. WiMAX can be used to support the acceleration of access infrastructure development, complementing the WiFi disadvantages in term of distance, QoS and Security manner, or as an alternative backhaul for cellular communication. Other benefit of WiMAX is the ability of interoperability, that can be expected to accelerate the competition of equipment supply and reduce the price level.
With all the benefits above, this tesis analyzes economic implication (economic analysis) for the further WiMAX implementation, especially on investment plan and service tariff for end users. In perspective of several plan parameter assumptions accordingly and penetration prediction base on geographic and demographics profile, it will analyze the investment visibility and the influence to network cost base. It will be simulated also influence of the decreasing equipment price prediction.
From the result of analysis and simulation, it will conclude the optimum condition as economic perspectives and the impact of equipment price decrease to end users price level.
