"This study investigated whether a behavioral economic index of the value of rewards available over different time horizons improved prediction of drinking outcomes beyond established biopsychosocial predictors. Preferences for immediate drinking versus more delayed rewards made possible by saving money were determined from expenditures prior to resolution attempts by problem drinkers with different help-seeking experiences (N = 144). As hypothesized, stable resolutions over a 2-year follow-up were associated with proportionally more preresolution discretionary expenditures on savings and less on alcohol compared with unstable resolutions. The relationship held regardless of help-seeking history, and preresolution drinking practices, problems, and income were similar across outcomes. The findings extend experimental work on behavioral economics and indicate that measuring monetary allocation improves prediction of outcomes."

"Konflik interpersonal pada remaja merupakan hal yang tidak terlepas dalam kehidupan sosialnya. Dalam interaksi akan muncul pertentangan dan terkadang individu akan berselisih pendapat. Walaupun konflik dapat mengancam hubungan sosial namun konflik tidak selalu merusak hubungan sosial. Cara mengatasi konflik merupakan hal yang menentukan apakah konflik menjadi sesuatu yang fungsional ataupun disfungsional. Program intervensi resolusi konflik menggunakan metode skillstreaming merupakan salah satu cara untuk mengembangkan keterampilan resolusi konflik pada remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efektivitas program intervensi skillstreaming dalam mengembangkan keterampilan resolusi konflik pada seorang remaja. Setelah dilakukan analisis perbandingan hasil pre-test dan post-test dengan alat ukur Conflict Resolution Style Inventory (CRSI), diketahui bahwa program ini belum mampu mengembangkan resolusi konflik pada remaja.

Interpersonal conflict in adolescence is inevitable feature in their social relationship. When they interact, disagreement may arise. They sometimes disagree. Eventhough conflict may jeopardize social relationship, conflict is not necessarily detrimental. The way conflicts are handled is important in determining whether conflicts are functional or dysfunctional. Intervention program for conflict resolution using skillstreaming methods is a way to develop conflict resolution skill in adolescent. In the current research, the main focus is to see effectiveness of skillstreaming intervention program to develop conflict resolution skill in adolescent. After analyzing the result of pre-test and post test with Conflict Resolution Style Inventory (CRSI) on adolescent, the result shows this program has not been able to develop conflict resolution in adolescents."

"Tesis ini membahas kasus konflik industrial XYZ yang berujung pada pemogokan ribuan karyawan. Bagaimana menyelesaikan konflik industrial menjadi pertanyaan penelitian ini. Setelah melakukan penelitian secara kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif yang menggunakan metode wawancara dan analisis isi, observasi dan studi pustaka, diperoleh hasil analisa bahwa mediasi merupakan intervensi terbaik dalam menyelesaikan konflik industrial XYZ. Hasil mediasi adalah ditandatanganinya Perjanjian Kerja Bersama pada bulan Februari 2012 dan berakhirnya pemogokan. Semoga apa yang telah menjadi kesepakatan bersama dapat diterapkan dengan konsisten dan penuh komitmen oleh karyawan dan manajemen XYZ, termasuk pihak pemerintah sebagai mediator. Hasil perundingan dari mediasi-mediasi yang dilakukan diharapkan memberi pengalaman yang baik bagi XYZ maupun perusahaan lain dalam memelihara hubungan industrial kedepannya nanti.

This thesis discusses the case of XYZ industrial conflict that led to the strike of thousands of employees. How to resolve industrial conflict becomes a question of this research. After conducting research in a qualitative descriptive design using interviews and content analysis, observation and literature study, obtained by the analysis that mediation is the best intervention in resolving industrial conflicts XYZ. The results of mediation is the signing of the Collective Labour Agreement in February 2012 and the end of the strike. Hopefully what has been a mutual agreement can be implemented with a consistent and committed by employees and management of XYZ, including the government as a mediator. The results of the negotiations conducted mediations are expected to have a good experience for XYZ and other companies in the maintenance of industrial relations in the future later."
