"In 1908, a Welsh Doctor named Peter Fraser turned down a lucrative job with the Kings Government in London and instead wore the robes of a Christian missionary to travel to the remote Lushai Hills of north-east India-the habitat of a reportedly wild, headhunting tribal people. Fraser not only found acceptance among the tribals, but also came in conflict with the colonial state over the tribal practice of bawi, a practice he found akin to slavery. This clash was symptomatic of a larger issue that marked colonialism in south Asia: the tussle between the colonial administration and the missionary institutions. Challenging the notion of a monolithic colonial experience, The Uprising chronicles this struggle which witnessed Fraser, after being expelled by his own mission, petitioning and lobbying for the issue in the British Parliament through the Anti-Slavery Society and even taking the issue to the League of Nations to make an intervention which had lasting impact on the lives and history of the Lushai people (Mizo tribe). Writing in a narrative form, the book brings out the immense historical significance of the contradictions between the colonial state and the missionary institutions, and argues that neither institution, contrary to popular perception, was a liberating agency."

"Besarnya ambiguitas dan kemungkinan dalam pemetaan bawah permukaan merupakan alasan utama dalam pengaplikasian berbagai macam teknik-teknik pemetaan untuk mendapatkan kemungkinan model bawah permukaan terbaik yang paling logis dan bisa digunakan untuk mendekati kondisi yang sebenarnya. Teknik analisa dan Pemodelan data gayaberat pada penelitian ini diaplikasikan untuk memastikan keberadaan struktur terumbu karbonat dari Formasi Kujung yang diidentifikasi sebagai struktur sembulan pada penampang seismik, dan pada penampang MT merupakan high resistivity zone. Berdasarkan kondisi geologi dan karakteristiknya, struktur karbonat ini diasumsikan akan mempunyai kontras densitas yang sangat baik dengan litologi batuan disekitarnya sehingga hasil pemodelan data gayaberat yang dikorelasikan dengan data-data geofisika lainnya ini, dapat dengan baik untuk digunakan dalam mendekati kondisi bawah permukaan area FW1807 dan dapat mengkonfirmasi keberadaan Kujung carbonates reservoir dalam bentuk terumbu karbonat yang berada pada kedalaman sekitar 2000-3000 m. tepat diatas basement.

The high ambiguity and the probability in subsurface mapping are the main reason for the application of many mapping techniques in order to get the best logical subsurface probability and also to approach the geological condition. Gravity analysis technique and modeling in this study are applied to ensure the presence of carbonate reef from Kujung Formation which is identified as an anticline at seismic section and from MT section as a high resistivity zone.

Based on geological condition and geological characterization, the carbonate structure is assumed will have a good density contrast compare with the surrounding lithology. The quality of gravity modeling which is correlate with others geophysical data, can well approach the subsurface condition of "FW1807" and can confirm the presence of Kujung carbonat reservoir in the form of carbonate reef at depth between 2000-3000 m. just above the basement."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Efektifitas Kinerja Pendamping PKH di wilayah Jakarta Utara dan Jakarta Timur. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada pendamping PKH dengan metode survey yang mana objek penelitian adalah seluruh pendamping PKH di Jakarta Utara dan Jakarta Timur sebanyak 58 orang. Faktor dependen yang diteliti meliputi faktor motivasi, individu dan pendukung. Faktor motivasi (pengeluaran dan penghargaan), faktor individu (usia, pengalaman, status pernikahan, pengetahuan dan pendidikan) serat faktor pendukung (supervisi, lama tugas, dana tempat tinggal). Faktor independen adalah efektifitas kinerja PKH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang dominan mempengaruhi efektifitas kinerja Pendamping PKH di Jakarta Utara dan Jakarta Timur adalah faktor individu (pengalaman dan pendidikan).

The Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Program is known in Indonesia as Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH). PKH is a cash transfer program for poor household conditioned upon fulfillment of public services on education, health and nutrition programs. The study aims at determining the factors influencing the effectiveness of facilitators’ performance in PKH in North and East Jakarta. This research was conducted on all facilitators with survey method in which 58 facilitators in North and East Jakarta were involved.

Dependent factors studied include motivational factors, individual factors, and supporting factors. Motivational factors consist of expenditure and rewards. Individual factors include age, experience, marital status, knowledge, and education. The supporting factors are supervision, length of assignment, and residence. Independent factor is effectiveness of the facilitators’ performance. The results showed that the dominant factors which influence facilitators’ performance in North and East Jakarta are individual factors (experience and education)."
