"Designed to offer applied mathematicians, physicists, chemists, engineers, geophysicists, and other scientists an elementary level explanation of integral equations of the first kind. It maintains a casual, conversational approach. The book emphasizes understanding, while deliberately avoiding special methods of highly limited application."

"This book offers a thorough, concise, and rigorous treatment of the essential aspects of the theory of integral equations. Includes nearly 300 exercises specifically constructed to enhance the understanding of both routine and challenging concepts. Included in the presentation are, a section entitled Tools of the Trade at the beginning of each chapter, providing necessary background information for comprehension of the results presented in that chapter, thorough discussions of the analytical methods used to solve many types of integral equations, an introduction to the numerical methods that are commonly used to produce approximate solutions to integral equations, over 80 illustrative examples that are explained in meticulous detail, nearly 300 exercises specifically constructed to enhance the understanding of both routine and challenging concepts, and guides to computation to assist the student with particularly complicated algorithmic procedures."

"The interconnection between probability and analysis also plays a central role in the present book. However, this book approach is mainly based on the application of analysis methods (the method of operator identities, integral equations theory, dual systems, integrable equations) to probability theory (Levy processes, M. Kac's problems, the principle of imperceptibility of the boundary, signal theory). The essential part of the book is dedicated to problems of statistical physics (classical and quantum cases). We consider the corresponding statistical problems (Gibbs-type formulas, non-extensive statistical mechanics, Boltzmann equation) from the game point of view (the game between energy and entropy). One chapter is dedicated to the construction of special examples instead of existence theorems (D. Larson's theorem, Ringrose's hypothesis, the Kadison-Singer and Gohberg-Krein questions). This book also investigate the Bezoutiant operator. "

"This book deals with evolutionary systems whose equation of state can be formulated as a linear Volterra equation in a Banach space. The main feature of the kernels involved is that they consist of unbounded linear operators. The aim is a coherent presentation of the state of art of the theory including detailed proofs and its applications to problems from mathematical physics, such as viscoelasticity, heat conduction, and electrodynamics with memory."

"This two-volume textbook provides comprehensive coverage of partial differential equations, spanning elliptic, parabolic, and hyperbolic types in two and several variables. In this first volume, special emphasis is placed on geometric and complex variable methods involving integral representations. The following topics are treated, integration and differentiation on manifolds, foundations of functional analysis, Brouwer's mapping degree, generalized analytic functions, potential theory and spherical harmonics, and linear partial differential equations."
