"ABSTRAKDiskursus tentang nafs merupakan salah satu kunci bidang metafisika, yang bisa dilihat dari perspektif filsafat serta tasawuf yang notabene membicarakan seputar kajian ba?ini. Peranan nafs adalah sebagai proses berfikir, dari proses inilah akan timbul sebuah pemahaman yang menghasilkan pengetahuan, yaitu bagaimana seorang manusia memandang serta menyikapi hakikat dari kehidupan. Terdapat dua tokoh yang juga memiliki andil penting sebagai tokoh yang mendalami serta memperinci hakikat nafs menurut perspektif dari masing-masing zaman yang telah dilaluinya. Keduanya memiliki beberapa persamaan dan perbedaan dalam pemikirannya tentang nafs. Terdapat tiga persamaan dan lima perbedaan pada pemikiran kedua tokoh dalam memandang hakikat nafs. Beberapa persamaan yang nampak mengenai definisi nafs, potensi-potensi nafs, serta kekekalan nafs, meskipun begitu memiliki lebih banyak perbedaan dalam pemikirannya seperti memandang wujud nafs, hubungan jasad dan nafs, pemikiran tentang ruh, rsquo;aql, qalb, dan nafs, tungkatan-tingkatan nafs, serta konsep kebahagiaan nafs. Dari pemikiran ini terlihat pemikiran yang saling mendominasi serta transisi perubahan yang akan mempengaruhi pemikiran tokoh, yang dianggap sebagai hasil pembahasan yang menarik. Dari ringkasan ini peneliti berusaha membandingkan konsep pemikiran kedua tokoh tersebut yang dilihat dari ranah filsafat serta tasawuf. Metode yang akan digunakan adalah deskriptif-analisis, yaitu dengan menjabarkan keseluruhan pemikiran kedua tokoh tentang hakikat nafs, kemudian menganalisis dengan menemukan persamaan serta perbedaan dari kedua tokoh.

ABSTRACTThe discourse on the nafs is one of the keys of the field of metaphysics, which can be seen from the perspective of philosophy and is certainly present in Sufism which in fact speaks of the study of ba ini. The role of the nafs is as a process of thinking, and from this process will arise an understanding that produces knowledge, that is how a human view and address the nature of life. In the talk about the nafs there are two figures who also have an important role as a figure who explore and detail the nature of the nafs according to the perspective of each era that has been passed. Both of these figures have some similarities and differences in their thinking about the nafs, which is of course some very significant differences on the background of the transition of the character 39 s thinking. There are three similarities and five differences in thinking of the two figures in viewing the nature of the nafs. Some of the apparent similarities to the definition of the nafs, the potential of nafs, and the eternal consciousness of nafs have, nevertheless, more differences in thinking such as the appearance of the nafs, the relationship of the body and nafs, the thought of the spirit, 39 aql, qalb, and nafs, nafs, and the concept of eternal bliss nafs. From this thinking will look dominant thoughts and transition changes that will affect the thinking of the figure, which is considered as the result of an interesting discussion. From this summary the researcher tried to compare the concept of thinking of the two figures that seen from the realm of philosophy and islamic mysticism. The method to be used is descriptive analysis, that is by describing the overall thoughts of the two figures about the nature of the nafs, then analyze by finding the similarities and differences of the two figures."

"Dari zaman ke zaman, jodoh merupakan suatu konsep yang berkaitan erat dengan kehidupan umat manusia. Perspektif berbeda perihal jodoh tergantung oleh kebudayaan yang memengaruhinya seringkali tergambarkan dalam karya sastra yang ada pada masing-masing zaman. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana tradisi sati tentang jodoh dalam Kakawin Sumanasantaka. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, digunakan metode Close Reading McClennen, Teori Semiotika Roland Barthes (1964), serta didasari pemahaman tentang tradisi sati dalam Hindu dan konsep satya dalam budaya Jawa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan tradisi sati tentang jodoh dalam Kakawin Sumanasantaka, memberikan wawasan pengetahuan baru terkait konsep jodoh pada era Jawa kuno dan menjadi pijakan bagi penelitian karya sastra era Jawa Kuno lainnya. Sumber data yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini yakni teks Kakawin Sumanasantaka berbahasa Jawa Kuno edisi teks Peter Worsley, S. Supomo, Thomas Hunter, dan Margaret Fletcher pada tahun 2013 dengan judul “Mpu Monaguna's Sumanasantaka: An Old Javanese Epic Poem, its Indian Source and Balinese Illustrations”. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif analitis dengan semiotik sastra dan melalui tahapan close reading McClennen. Teori yang dijadikan landasan adalah Teori Semiotika oleh Roland Barthes (1964), pemahaman tentang tradisi sati oleh John Stratton Hawley (1994), serta konsep satya merujuk kepada Bhavabhakti dan Pañ ca Satya. Setelah dilakukan analisis, ditemukan bahwa tradisi sati yang ada dalam Kakawin Sumanasantaka merupakan penggambaran dari dasyabhava dan kantabhava, serta merupakan bentuk dari penerapan satya mitra.

From time to time, soulmate is a concept that is closely related to human life. Different perspectives on soulmates depending on the culture that influences them are often depicted in literary works of each era. This study’s research question concerns how the sati tradition relates to the concept of soulmate expressed in Kakawin Sumanasantaka. To answer this problem, McClennen’s Close Reading method and Roland Barthes’s Semiotic Theory (1964) was used alongside the understanding of the sati tradition in Hinduism and the concept of satya in Javanese culture. This study aims to reveal the sati tradition in regards to the concept of soulmate in Kakawin Sumanasantaka, provide new knowledge regarding the concept of soulmate in the ancient Javanese era and become a basis for other ancient Javanese literary research. The primary data in this study is the Kakawin Sumanasantaka text written in Old Javanese language text edition by Peter Worsley, S. Supomo, Thomas Hunter, and Margaret Fletcher in 2013 with the title "Mpu Monaguna's Sumanasantaka: An Old Javanese Epic Poem, its Indian Source and Balinese Illustrations''. This research uses qualitative descriptive analytical methods alongside literary semiotics and McClennen’s close reading. The theories used as basis are the Semiotic Theory by Roland Barthes (1964), the understanding of the sati tradition by John Stratton Hawley (1994), alongside the concept of satya referring to Bhavabhakti and Pañca Satya. This study found that the existing sati tradition in Kakawin Sumanasantaka is a depiction of dasyabhava, and kantabhava, also is a form of applying satya mitra."
