This study discusses the phenomenon of social life which is closely related to culture and religion contained in the Moroccan film entitled Razia. The film, which was directed by the well-known director Nabil Ayouch, is very interesting to study more deeply because it reflects the socio-cultural situation in Morocco by bringing a message of criticism. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive design. The data source of this research is an Arabic-French film translated into English entitled Razzia in 2017. The purpose of this research is to explain the message behind the phenomenon that is considered controversial in the film scene. To explain the meaning and message conveyed, this Razzia film uses the analysis of Roland Barthes' semiotic theory and the theory of freedom of expression in Bonaventure Rutinwa's social space. The results of this study are that there are myths of freedom of expression in social spaces depicted in film scenes, such as restrictions on the use of the Berber native language in education and restrictions on freedom of expression for women in dress, as well as restrictions on movement space for the Jewish minority."

"Introducing Social Theory traces the development of social theorizing from the classical ideas about modernity of Durkheim, Marx and Weber, through twentieth-century debates around structure and agency and developments in feminist thinking, to a uniquely accessible review of contemporary theoretical controversies in sociology. Focusing on relativism, post-modernity and postmodernism and their critics, this final section of the book provides a cogent and highly readable account of the debates at the heart of social theorizing today."
