Artikel ini berfokus pada analisis terhadap novel Colleen Hoover berjudul “It Ends With Us.” Studi dilakukan guna mengungkap berbagai bentuk dan dampak kekerasan dalam rumah tangga ditampilkan novel tersebut. Isu sensitif terkait tema kekerasan dalam pernikahan dalam novel tersebut membuat pembaca tertarik dan menjadikan karya ini populer. Penelitian ini menyoroti bagaimana novel “It Ends With Us” merepresentasikan Cycle of Abuse pada kekerasan dalam rumah tangga. Analisis difokuskan pada dua karakter utama, yakni LilyBloom dan suaminya yang kasar tetapi menawan, Ryle Kincaid, serta bagaimana akhirnya tokoh utama perempuan melepaskan diri dari jeratan hubungan pernikahannya yang penuh kekerasan dan manipulatif. Studiini juga mengungkapkan bahwa “cycle of abuse” melibatkan sisi fisik dan psikologis seseorang, dan hanya dapat diakhiri oleh korban dengan cara keluar dari hubungan tersebut.

This research analyses Colleen Hoover's novel It Ends With Us. This research aims to uncover the various forms and impacts of domestic violence in marriage shown in the novel. The novel It Ends With Us got famous for its deep yet sensitive subject of violence in marriage life, making it bold and exciting for the readers. The descriptive analysis method is used in this research to examine the intrinsic theories and extrinsic theories, which is the cycle of abuse. The findings of this study indicate that Lily has been subjected to various forms of domestic violence, including child abuse, physical assaults, pornographic violence, and rape. By using Walker's Cycle ofAbuse theory, this study focuses on the case of the female main character (Lily Bloom) and her abusive yet charming husband (Ryle Kincaid) and how she managed to end the abusive cycle in the end. This article argues that the manipulation and the domestic violence in this novel create a vivid representation of the typical cycle ofabuse in a toxic relationship, and the victim is the only one who can stop it by ending the relationship.
