Pengelolaan sampah yang ada di masyarakat saat ini saat ini belum sepenuhnya tepat dari pemilahan, pengumpulan, hingga pengolahan. Kondisi ini terjadi juga di Kelurahan Pancoran Mas Kota Depok. Pengelolaan sampah yang tidak tepat akan berdampak buruk terhadap lingkungan dan kesehatan manusia. Sehingga dibutuhkan adanya penelitian untuk mengukur timbulan dan komposisi sampah, serta mengevaluasi kondisi pengelolaan sampah di Kelurahan Pancoran Mas, Depok. Timbulan dan komposisi sampah didapatkan dengan sampling sampah di 68 rumah tangga selama delapan hari berturut-turut di Kelurahan Pancoran Mas. Selain itu, evaluasi kondisi eksisting pengelolaan sampah dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Berdasarkan sampling didapatkan bahwa timbulan sampah rata-rata di Kelurahan Pancoran Mas adalah sebesar 0,24 kg/orang/hari dan 2,43 l/orang/hari. Komposisi sampah terdiri atas sisa makanan 51%, plastik 18%, kertas/karton 12%, kain 4%, kayu/ranting 3%, kaca 2%, logam 1%, karet/kulit 1%, serta residu 8%. Dari hasil pengamatan didapatkan evaluasi pengelolaan sampah aspek teknis operasional yang disesuikan dengan Permen PU No. 3/PRT/M/2013 meliputi pemilahan sampah berdasarkan jenisnya dan teknologi pengolahan sampah yang belum sesuai standar. Oleh karena itu, pengelolaan sampah yang dapat ditingkatkan di Kelurahan Pancoran Mas meliputi sosialisasi mengenai pemilahan sampah di rumah tangga dan penyediaan sarana pemilahan sampah yang memadai. Selain itu, diperlukan adanya partisipasi masyarakat dalam kegiatan bank sampah dan penerapan teknologi kompos Takakura yang dapat dilakukan di masing-masing rumah tangga.
Waste management in the community is currently not fully appropriate, from sorting, collecting, and processing. This condition also occurs in Pancoran Mas Urban Village, Depok City. Improper waste management will have a negative impact on the environment and human health. So research is needed to measure waste generation and composition and evaluate the condition of waste management in Pancoran Mas Urban Village, Depok. Waste generation and composition were obtained by sampling waste in 68 households for eight consecutive days in Pancoran Mas Urban Village. In addition, an evaluation of the existing conditions of waste management was conducted through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Based on the sampling, it was found that the average waste generation in Pancoran Mas Urban Village was 0,24 kg/person/day and 2,43 l/person/day. The composition of waste consists of 51% food waste, 18% plastic, 12% paper or cardboard, 4% fabric, 3% wood or ranting, 2% glass, 1% metal, 1% rubber or leather, and 8% residue. From the observation, it was found that the evaluation of waste management in the technical aspect of operations in accordance with Permen PU No. 3/PRT/M/2013 includes sorting waste based on its type and waste processing technology that is not up to standard. Therefore, waste management that can be improved in Pancoran Mas Urban Village includes the socialization of waste sorting in households and the provision of adequate waste sorting facilities. In addition, there is a need for community participation in waste bank activities and the application of Takakura composting technology that can be carried out in each household.
