Chemical modification of maltodextrin DE(5-10) polymer fraction of sago strach (Metroxylon) with phosphoroxychloride as suspending agent: Based on a previous report,maltodextrin DE 5-10 polymer fraction did not stable as the suspending agent in aging for twelve week.
Therefore to develop a stable maltodextrin DE 5-10 polymer fraction as suspending agent has to attemp by chemical modification.In this research chemical modification had been done with 0,25% POCI at ph9, and temperature 29 0C. The product was used as suspending agent 5%,10%and15% and paracetamol as a model.
The results of suspension characteristic evaluation of both sedimentation volume,rate of solid redispersion,viscosity,pH and paracetamol concentration,showed the suspension quality with floculation system,stability of viscisity and pH,easiness to disperse,and the concentration of paracetamol confrom to phamarcope Indonesia 3 ed.
