ABSTRAKPost 911 era identified that the nature of international relation has been rapidly changed due to simultaneous development of its actors, the use of information, communication, and technology (ICT), and the the dynamic changes of agendas of state's foreign policy conduct. These changes have emphasized the significance of state-led conventional diplomacy as a main tool of foreign policy. To some extent, a model of public diplomacy is widely developed as an alternative in many countries including Indonesia. It is chosen because public diplomacy is concerned with the effective influence of the countries Soft Power and it is also less expensive compared to conventional diplomacy. The main question raised in this research is that what is the strategic role of indonesianis abroad on developing indonesia's public diplomacy? And how has public diplomacy been conducted and what role has Indonesianist palyed in foreign policy?
