ABSTRAKUniversitas Tōkyō yang didirikan pada 1877 telah menghasilkan banyak lulusan
unggul yang menduduki posisi-posisi penting di birokrasi pemerintahan. Lulusan
universitas ini dikenal dengan sebutan ?gakubatsu? (kelompok lulusan) Universitas
Tōkyō. Penelitian ini membahas cikal bakal gakubatsu Universitas Tōkyō dan
lingkaran gakubatsu yang berperan dalam keberhasilan para lulusan di birokrasi
pemerintahan. Penelitian ini disusun dengan metode studi pustaka dan pendekatan
sejarah. Dari analisis penelitian ini, diperoleh temuan bahwa keberhasilan para lulusan
yang menduduki posisi-posisi penting sangat terkait dengan peran gakubatsu
universitasnya. Gakubatsu, akhirnya menjadi bentuk sumbangsih tersendiri Universitas
Tōkyō terhadap Jepang.
ABSTRACTUniversity of Tōkyō, established in 1877, has many bright graduates who ruled in
government offices for years. All graduates from this university are known as
?gakubatsu? (school clique of) University of Tōkyō. This research described the
formation of ?gakubatsu? University of Tōkyō and also ?gakubatsu? network which
supported other University of Tōkyō graduates in the government offices. The research
is conducted through literature review and historical approaches. Based on the research,
the success of University of Tōkyō graduates in government offices were actually
caused by supports of senior graduates who already had important title in government
offices, and all related to the university ?gakubatsu?. In the end, ?gakubatsu? becomes
one of University of Tōkyō contribution form towards Japan.;
