ABSTRAKMenyusui merupakan langkah primer untuk kesehatan dan pertumbuhan optimal bagi anak. Seribu hari pertama kehidupan, yang dimulai sejak janin di dalam kandungan hingga seorang anak berusia dua tahun merupakan periode terpenting dan perlu mendapatkan perhatian terbesar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan partisipasi ibu dalam perekonomian keluarga terhadap pemberian ASI eksklusif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan cross sectional dengan data sekunder SDKI 2012 dengan sampel berjumlah 1358 ibu berusia 15-49 tahun yang memiliki bayi berusia 0-5 bulan. Partisipasi ibu dalam perekonomian keluarga dapat menurunkan peluang pemberian ASI eksklusif dimana ibu yang bekerja sebagai buruh/karyawan sepanjang waktu lebih berisiko 1,54 kali untuk tidak memberikan ASI eksklusif dibandingkan ibu yang tidak bekerja setelah dikontrol oleh variabel kounfonder (p=0,038; CI 95%=1,0-2,3). Memberikan informasi mengenai tata laksana pemberian ASI eksklusif bagi ibu bekerja, meningkatkan kerjasama lintas sektoral dengan kementerian terkait utuk peningkatan program pemberian ASI eksklusif sesuai dengan perundang-undangan yang telah dibuat, serta melaksanakan supervisi dan memberikan sanksi/reward terhadap pelaksanaan peraturan mengenai ASI eksklusif.

Participation of mothers in the family economy can lower the chance of exclusive breastfeeding that mothers who work as laborers / employees at all times to 1.54 times more risky not to give exclusive breastfeeding than mothers who do not work after being controlled by the variable counfonder (p = 0.038; 95% CI = 1.0 to 2.3).
